If women can't make themselves look better then those guys shouldn't be able to make their dicks look bigger. /s. Personally, while I prefer how most women look without makeup it's their lives and thus their choice whether to do it or not. Same with shaving for that matter. If society won't expect men to shave or judge them for not shaving then I won't hold women to those same expectations either.

They do it because they want to, they feel pretty with it on. They like playing around and making themselves look different. It doesn't have too much to do with attracting a mate. (can't say NOTHING to do with it, but it's not the main purpose, which is fun/self confidence)

Do they? I started because I felt unattractive because of huys making fun of me. I've stopped now, except for at work, because women are less likely to get promoted if they don't wear makeup. Personally I wish it would disappear so we didn't have any kind of pressure to use it. Maybe there's a woman out there who's completely happy with her looks and only uses makeup for "fun", but I've never met one. The ones who are secure in their looks typically don't use it.

Most start because of peer pressure at a young age, so I wouldn't be too sure of what they claim themselves. And society is very harsh, when a woman comes to the office without her regular makeup, people will immediately ask if she's sick.

I like that it doesn't feel like an expectation *outside* of work, but I've still heard "I don't like how I look without it" more than once, which is twice too many. My aging aunt told me never to wear lipstick because she started to hate her non-lipstick appearance when she started

- Forces you to reset your thinking and actually objectively rate.
- No half points, so you can’t fence sit, something is slightly good or slightly bad.
- Resets the 7/10 or 4/5 is average thing. Average is 8 or 9.
- Enough room to show variation without needing to be excessive, 3/5 and 4/5 should be diff.
