I will take your word for it. I won't angle grind anything near a stack of propane tanks. But I'll take your word for it.

Those tanks a inert unless weakened or punctured. They are overbuilt by about 10x.

It's just not a volatile form of heat. And the slivers are thin and cool very very quickly. But honestly, no, I wouldn't either.
