#1 Comparing "overpaying rent" to owning a home kind of makes it a skewed comparison as it implies you *wouldn't* be overpaying to buy the house (or continuing to own it - there's an alternative cost to owning, you know).

#5 did he do anything productive in his live, ever?

You know, something that helped someone in need or improved society just a tiny bit? Or did he just leech money from the people listening to him like some kind of welfare queen

Beyond 150k or so more money doesn't increase happiness, but having basic and some fun needs met? Hell yes! Money does buy happiness.

I got a lot of problems. A moderate amount of money could solve a good 80% of them completely and sustainably. I am sick and tired of rich people gaslighting poor people like this. Yes. Money can't buy happiness because at a point the vast over-accumulation of wealth presents diminishing returns of feeling in everything you do. That doesn't mean it's okay to restrict access to basic necessities until everyone has to work themselves to death for a roof and a meal.

#2 “god does not bless any conflict”

Off the top of my head I can remember at least three times there was a “conflict” while some knights went on a spicy walk and I’m pretty sure the popes at the time did bless it and thus were blessed by god as per his promise to St. Peter:

“Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven".

Money might be able to buy you temporary happiness but time after time it's been shown that people who have tons of money end up still not being happy. The human brain is wired to expect that the value of something is based on how much you have to put into getting it. There's tons of studies that show that even the simple act of throwing something out and buying a new one when it's broken makes people depressed.

"money can't buy happiness" is about hoarding wealth in pursuit of happiness. Using money to secure shelter, security and essential resources is not what the saying is really getting at.

#1 - Maybe, maybe not. If someone wants to give me $50 million, I am more than happy to find out.

That's no hill to die on as every sane person knows this and agrees with it.

Obviously nothing will compare to your own personal fantasy of utopia. But if you can't afford to buy food, a twenty can make all the difference. Just ask the Free Pizza Dude.
