I just wanted to let people know that there is a strong option in Charles Booker

Vote.org helps you register and request a mail in ballot.

Vote per mail instead?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Last year in Kentucky 665k total people in Kentucky voted during the primary. There has been 1 million absentee ballots sent in Kentucky.

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

In 2016 there was 670k total primary votes cast. This year will probably break state records for number of votes cast during a primary.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

How many can and will vote by mail?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Can = most. They aired commercials explaining how to request an absentee ballot at least weeks ago. Will? Who knows.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey, at least now they are down to just one angry mob...instead of dozens. So *that's* an improvement...right?

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

yeah, when your opponent balls all their units into one spot, you can use something like banelings to take them all out for cheap.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

made this after the impeachment sham, even more relevant today.

5 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 5

Is it the US constitution that's a joke or is the joke US Congress that applies... I mean abuse the constitution?

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yes

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just saw this from the Booker campaign Mitch might just close down that polling place as well.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

Another post by an imgurian explained this. Apparently everyone in Kentucky is encouraged to vote by mail.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Everyone got a postcard with instructions for simple online ballot request. This shouldn't be a surprise for anyone.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Shithole country

5 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 14

In full context of fairness, I heard they extended the time to switch to mail in ballots, and voters had tons of notice for this.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In theee laaand of the freeeeee

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You can check your voter registration and request a mail in ballot at vote.org v

5 years ago | Likes 170 Dislikes 7

Exactly, have faith in the system. Vote when you cant vote! And if you can't, then write a letter to those voted in and wait. And if they..

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Don't listen, just go and vote next time!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yea! Just keep playing the rigged game, eventually someone with some morals will get into power, right? Fuck that noise.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bit late to be requesting mail in ballots.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

Many people havent received theirs....

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I mean.. I have filed taxes on my phone for the last 5 years... why should voting be 100x harder & inconvenient than filing my taxes?

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It isn't. It's easy to request an absentee ballot here. System is overloaded and not everyone got theirs, but still pretty good coverage.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because if you filed your taxes 10,000 times it would only hurt you.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don’t think you can file your taxes 10k times... unless you had 10k jobs, ss numbers and addresses.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If Mitch gets involved, it’ll get fixed!.....pffft

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 5

“Work” is a strong and pretty inaccurate word for what our government has been doing

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

No, this is cheating at work.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Show me where Democrats are doing this.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The executive order that shut down all these Kentucky polling locations was issued by the Democrat governor to avoid spreading COVID...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

*republican goverment.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Does Kentucky have a rule that if you're in line when polls close the poll has to stay open until the line is exhausted? It's like that 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

here and I imagine one polling station overwhelmed by 500,000 people who wont leave the line would be quite a protest. 2/2

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This country has ways of dealing with protestors, and it involves equivocation and tear gas.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes, and Louisville's polling place is in the county fairgrounds so the line will be indoors and in an absolutely HUGE convention place.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is shitty - if you live in Kentucky, you can get an absentee ballot and you can vote early to help avoid this a bit though.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

It's past the deadline to request one, but I did request mine and voted that way. Commercials have aired explaining how to request one.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

people have tried

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is an edge case the same as the dozen or so other ones easily found. It worked for the VAST majority. Me included.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lets come back to this in 24 hours

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure, but for those that did request a mail in ballot, it worked just fine to a large degree. No need to wait until election day to determine

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And Trump still thinks mail in voting is more rigged. Voter suppression, nah that's fine. Screw trump

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 5

As a Kentuckian, they made a huge push for absentee voting. I voted via absentee. They didn't do it perfectly, but I think in good faith.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But when Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear and Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams work together it doesnt fit the narrative.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The only thing better than Trump losing would be Booker beating McGrath and then McConnell. That's state's politics are fucking insane.

5 years ago | Likes 316 Dislikes 13

A toenail clipping would be an improvement over Mitch McConnell.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Very true. I'm just not a fan of who the Democratic party have put forth over the past 5-6 years. It's easy to tell the establishment picks.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I’m hoping to have the chance to vote for him

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I don't care who beats McConnell, but that's about as important as the presidential race for sure.

5 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 3

Yeppers. I'd obviously like the progressive to win as it's like a mini Hillary vs. Bernie race, but I'd take McGrath over prick any day.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My only concern is that a progressive in KY might just get slaughtered in the general, no matter how bad the (R) is.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe the one poll that came out had Booker ahead of McGrath in terms of beating McConnell, though. I'll need to look for that.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd be interested to see it. My understanding was that she was looking way better in head to head vs turtle.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Theyre making sure that doesnt happen

5 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 5

That's 100% bullshit. McGrath is not supported by KY dems, she's quite unpopular at the capital. Booker's surge has been a big surprise.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

When the decision was made to limit primary polling places there were no competitive races and controlling virus spread was paramount.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I was going to ask "Democrats or Republicans?" until I remembered that McGrath was the establishment pick. Fucking two-party system...

5 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

as someone else once said... dosent matter if it's left wing or right wing when it is on the same eagle

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That reads like "both parties are the same", which is hilariously untrue. Democrats have no one as batshit as Trump or as dead as McConnell.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but it's still just a bunch of out of touch rich people, servering rich people interests

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was surprised they backed her so far ahead of the primary

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Because of that, I was all on board. The second I looked up Booker? Instantly switched to him. It's like a mini Clinton vs. Sanders race.

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Wait what, i didnt hear they went to Booker. When/why!?!?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Requested an absentee ballot and already voted for him!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The 1 polling in Jefferson County has been open all last week and today, As well as voting day.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No shit right? As bad as things are, my guess is it'll have to get much worse for the kind of participation we need. Not sure tho

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"Every society is three meals away from chaos." - Lenin. If we could collectively smack the screens and snacks out of ppls hands...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty much. Also, people need a leader or a movement to get behind unless it's so bad everyone's basic needs cant be met, self motivation

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously, buy a old Yellow Schoolbus and slap that pic on every side and just drive to Washington DC, I bet halfway you're full with Ppl.

5 years ago | Likes 147 Dislikes 2

That can also be considered a threat against the president, and THAT is still illegal. So, please don't do that. No need to get arrested

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Like they still wait for you to do something illegal.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Wait, are you disagreeing and saying that threatening the president isn't illegal? Your response is ambiguous.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

It's not ambiguous. They're saying whether it's illegal lost meaning when the authorities started summary punishment, guilty or not.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

You mean police and SS… err Secret Service?

5 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 3

Jokes aside, driving around with such a message will always mark you as "danger to the public". At least you will be under surveillance.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

idk why we as the american people are still sitting around it's seriously time to march on DC and oust Trump and every corrupt politician

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

It might come to that because our voting power is being attacked eroded daily by these fucking con-men and women.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We're playing a big ass carnival game with the same odds at this point.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope it does, quite frankly I'm there already

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly tho how the FUCK can this be legal to do?

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

No, because we take real problems and make them about race or some other red herring to keep the majority divided and those in power safe.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 39

As much as there is a real problem with racism, the mans got a point. They keep the majority divided or at least strive for that

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Again, never said racism isn't a problem. Just saying we can't blame everything on racism.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How can you say race is not a "real problem"? Are you truly that ignorant?

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

When did i say race wasn't a real problem? Racism is absolutely a real problem. It's just not the only problem. Sometimes when a crime

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Happens and 2 different races are involved the problem isn't racism, it's the actual crime.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

When the system is inherently racist, we need to address that before anything else can be fixed.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Shhh, let's not talk to assholes like this guy. Let's go vote.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

What makes this guy an asshole? He's 100% right; Americans have been taught to be racist, and care more about race, then they do class.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why don't you go discuss his assholishness with him. I have other shit to do scrub.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So you can't even defend why you think he is an asshole? Aight, well, fuck off then, better to not waste my time I guess.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Keyboard warrior here. Be brave enough to say it: I approve of waterboarding those in power. Only way we'll get the truth.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ok there is more to this than the headline. There is heavy push for mail in voting by the democratic governor and a higher request for them

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Hopefully they all get them. But the 1 place, even tho its a fairgrounds is iffy. Might lead to long drives, long lines, etc

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you’re not allowed to vote, you don’t have to obey the law. That’s the deal we described in the Declaration of Independence.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 8

wait, so children can drive drunk, mowing down pedestrians, and stealing their wallets? man, that declaration is pretty sweet.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Well unless you’re like Puerto Rico

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

...our voting rights are only to vote in general elections, not primaries.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that because they made a major effort to swap to mail in voting, and the one polling place open is 1/

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

for 600K people is the state fairgrounds?

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

And its absolutely not for 600k people. People think there's going to be 100% voter turnout? Maybe 350k before subtracting mail ins.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

thats still a lot of people for 1 polling place. City i work in has a polling place for 35k people with about 20 booths.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

That's why they have sent out 227k mail in ballots to people in that district (I don't have the source but saw it from an official on Twit)

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

oh yeah my link shows theyve sent out mail in ballots, but plenty of people are saying they havent received them.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And my rural county of a total of 17,000 people has 4....

5 years ago | Likes 563 Dislikes 9

in april in milwaukee we had 1 per like 200k voters

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That still seems like not enough

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rural tends to lean right so of course the oompa loompa is down with it

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It may be time to fill out the ballots with tyrants blood

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

16,999 votes for Mitch there?

5 years ago | Likes 165 Dislikes 9

It's a closed primary. Strangely, this is Democrats rigging an election against another Democrat, who is black and further left of McGrath

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Andy Beshear is the Democrat governor who Amy McGrath campaigned hard with. Booker is the black candidate who is surging in urban areas

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That’s like 4K per polling station...is that really too much for them to handle? Seems reasonable. Probably have early voting too.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, if that 17K how many aren’t of voting age?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then you figure half don’t vote and maybe a couple thousand are to young makes for a lot less than 4K

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My town has around 1 per 1000 citizens.. (i'm from austria) and election days are always on sundays

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

USA, rich town of 15,000 with 3 polling places. There can be a line around 5-6 as people get off of work, but never too bad

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

also, we are automatically registered to vote. I will never understand why in the US you have to go through all this fuzz to vote.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am told there are no kangaroos in osterreich, fascinating

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They might actually care about voters where you're from, not just keep the charade of the process going, like they do in US

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Canadian here. Ours are on weekdays, voting during rush hour is 20-30 mins max, otherwise you are likely to have no line at all

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kentucky allows mail in votes....just request a ballot.

5 years ago | Likes 151 Dislikes 9

Other places have done this and lots of people didn't get their ballots.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Oh look, we ran out of paper for the mail in ballots. Sorry. Just go in person."

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Sounds like a great idea if you're the homeless person who can't easily do that. Weird, 1 of the 2 dem primary candidates would help most

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hint: it's not the friend of the Dem governor who made this decision. Weird coincidence. its disenfranchising people with less service acces

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The problem is alot of people have but they havent arrived yet.

5 years ago | Likes 129 Dislikes 1

Is that actually true though? Is easy to say "people" didn't get theirs. How many people? Also you say "yet". As of when? They got them now?

You realize this is a primary election and in Kentucky you can't vote across party lines in a primary. There is no line to skew either way.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The people who make these decisions have addresses, just so you know...

5 years ago | Likes 787 Dislikes 28

This is completely fake anger. There has been an enormous push to vote by mail, which led to over 200,000 ballots sent out, twice as many as

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 58

Because in the US their addresses are public information

5 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 5

They're elected officials. You can contact them at their office. That's not "doxxing", it's the right of every citizen.

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Somehow seeing the guillotines & fire in the comments makes me doubt "contacting them" is the general intention

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Fair point. I kinda assumed that was implicit in the term "doxxing", but maybe that was a different thread.

Let me clarify. 218k+ ballots mailed out in Jefferson County (Louisville). 138k voted in the last primary.

To be fair, the last presidential primary had a lot more, but still less than mailed out this year.

I checked the KY voting site, some polls have been open for weeks, others not, and apparently very few polls in high dense areas. sigh

Isn't KY Moscow Mitchs state? Would be interesting to see Grand Moff Tarkin loss his grip.

So you're talking about issues in an area against people that actually live in that area? Seriously? Well done spreading [1/2]

information you're not sure is even correct. You are part of the problem. [2/2]

As someone who lives there, yes they cut the polling spots down.. but they added days, and have sent mail in ballots to everyone.

I live in hardin county after moving here in november last year, and i registered to vote back in january, But can't vote this primary 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

because even though i registered in january, it didn't get approved until 2 days after the deadline, thus invalidating me? ,':^I

That sucks. We have a great county clerk in hardin county. I'm surprised that happened.

They did not "send in mail in ballots to everyone". You had to request them. Don't water this down. It's bullshit & everyone should know it.

Only 670k people voted total in Kentucky 2016 primary. If your one of the people who didn't get a correct mail in, go vote in person.

1 million ballots have been mailed out in Kentucky.

I suppose they can take the day off and stand in line for 8 hours?

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 5

As long as the people getting them are equally spread out among different groups of people, otherwise it is far far worse
