At work they finally installing adblocker, they had so many complaints about slow surfing. Now more work gets done.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah it's a straight up close the page down whenever a page says that to me too. "No thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere.."

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

So you want to use my bandwidth that costs me money to show me ads I'm not interested in? I think I'll pass

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Page: "Please disable your AD Blocker to see our content ".... Me: "Nah, you're not that important to me"

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Is it just me or do some of the ads still redirect you on desktop ?

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Not in years. Not using uBlock Origin?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those are the internet equivalent to skeezy guys who beg you to let them hit it raw

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's trackers I hate even more than ads. Just install Ghostery and see all the a-holes snooping on your browsing. Yeah - even incognito

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From a Google search to playing 1 video on Youtube and I've got 19 adverts blocked..So easy to forget how bad the web is without Adblockers.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ublock much better than adlblock plus btw

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Install Greasemonkey (Firefox) or Tampermonkey (Chromium-based browsers) and anti-adblock killer. You're welcome.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You want sex without condoms? Don't be a fucking std ecosystem, how is that complicated?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a problem using ad blocker on free websites you are using a service they should be able to make some revenue off of you for operating

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Adblock plus by default allows non-intrusive ads through to support those websites that respect their users instead of mine them for money.

Save bandwidth, Block Ads.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

For Adblock Plus users, you can usually get around this. Add the custom filters @@||website.com$generichide, @@||website.com$genericblock.

Now this is a useful comment! Thank you sir.

On Disney+ it will block a tracking cookie every second as it tries to steal your personal data.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you use Google Chrome, you can get around disabling adblock, by typing "cache:" before the url adress :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dont have links, but there are now add ons that block ad block detection. The vicious cycle continues.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you have multiple adblock extensions it's interesting to see which blocks more ads. Spoiler: uBlock blocks the most.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also isn't adblock plus, which I heard was allowing companies to pay for ads to get through it's systems

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on how much you switch pages without closing the tab. It just keeps counting them up.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

I blocked 546 on this page.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seriously, you only see about three on the page, how can it be blocking 300?!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not 300 ads. It's 300 scripts.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

atm mine is blocking 187 adds

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You might have malware on your computer that is trying to inject more ads.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that would be the case now. back then, it was a leak that allowed advertisers to keep shoving ads at adblockers when blocked. adb won.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy wow. I only see 13 right now. I'm curious now how many other people see.

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

With Ublock I get about 20 ads per image. Every page I change adds more to the count.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My pandora regularly gets up to 500 at a time (listening for a few hours).

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Keep in mind a good chunk of those are the actual pandora ads that play between songs, but still.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wait would adblock work with Pandora ads? Like the audio ones that come up between songs?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Only stops the videos. Used to stop the audio ones, too, but they found a work around. Still, no videos.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It stops the audio ones too for me.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well that or I just haven't noticed them, which is possible I guess

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe mine needs an update.
