We taught our older cat to high five us. She hesitates and doesn't want to do it half the time, but it's still great to see her do it.

They had to be teeny tiny baby kittens to understand your language

My cat has learned to talk and will walk around at 3 am going "HELLO??" while my other cat leaps right on my face at oh, let's say 315

Dun worry about it. Ita time for your ibuprofen and bedtime, it's nearly 7. How do kids even stay up this late. All the sites should just shut down after 7. Back in your day, memes were etched into cave walls, the way GOD intended.

Kind of like a sideways high-five, usually as a greeting.

It's the grab hand-slap thing that usually takes the place of handshakes as a casual thing between friends, often in urban settings. It was really common already in the 90s and I don't think it went away. There's a lotta variation on it but basically "fast/slap hand contact without the formal handshake."

I encourage you to meet a black person, maybe even invite them into your home. Ten years ago

I live/work with many. Never heard this phrase. Work with Lisa of young people and have them in my family. However it is where you are, it's not as common as you think.

fwiw dapping/giving (some) dap was a common term even in the late 90s (when I was in high school) and i'm a fairly white dude from the sticks (though admittedly somewhat DC adjacent)

((i don't know if i used enough parentheses))
