I don't even like being 40

Unless I've got a body like I did in my 20's, I don't think I want to exist until I'm 200 years old.

You will work the entire time, not own anything, and like it.
-Capitalists, probably

Only available to the epstein class though.

only if you work until at least 180

Social security age raised to 140

The issue is not living until you're 200. It's being young until you're 200. If you still start getting creaky and having organ failure and brittle bones and getting sick all the time when you're 60-70, then this just means you've got 100 extra years of suffering and misery and high cost hospital care.

Boomers can live forever!

Wasn't this the plot of Avatar 2?

Just look at the effects of mental illness and degradation as our lifespan has expanded as far as it already has. Can you imagine how smooth our brains would get with an extra century to rot?

I dont doubt that someone has already born that will live to be over 200 years old.

I'm 40, I'm already tired. I'd rather be dirt before I even reach that

Keep that shit far the fuck away from me. If I’m forced to live longer than my current expectation I will make it everyone’s problem.

Can you imagine how disappointing it would be to meet your great great grandparents? Because you'd be subjecting your great great grandchildren to that disappointment if you live to be 200

I don't even wanna make it past 50 (and I'm almost there)

Same - I was just googling yesterday if assisted suicide is allowed for anyone in Switzerland, or do you have to have terminal illness. Turns out it IS available for everyone BUT those that authorise it want a better excuse than, I hate my life and I’ve given up. So back to the drawing board.

Also applies to cancer treatment.

Watch it start repairing the DNA of cancer cells......

again, if it works, only the rich will benefit.

Almost every man can produce an almost inexhaustible supply of this inexpensive life-giving protein, but almost all of it goes to waste.

On the bright side we would get to work at until we are 180. /s (as if it is needed.)

And they’ll extinct the whales in the process

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wellp that explains this

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow, who thought eating whale would give you a 200 year lifespan

33°C eh? Should mention that....
Hypothermia is a medical emergency occurring when the body's core temperature drops below 35°C. It results from prolonged exposure to cold environments, causing heat loss to exceed heat production. Symptoms include intense shivering, confusion, fatigue, and slurred speech, requiring immediate, warm-up, and medical attention.
So there is that little hurdle to figure out.

This was a plot point in Kim Stanley Robinson’s Mars trilogy. The wealthy could afford to extend their lifespan and even migrate to Mars while poor folks were trapped in ‘normal’ lifespans on a rapidly overpopulating and resource diminishing Earth.

Also a theme in Asimov's Foundation series. Spacers were few in numbers and lived very long lives, away from the vile diseased common wretches on Earth.

Whale's live underwater away from the sun, heat and in a mostly gravity free lifestyle..... human's are out here getting our meat slow cooked rotisserie style while the Earth's core and rotation are slowly crushing us. Wouldn't hold my breath on this >.>

Uh, obviously it would be really hard to monetize floating all day in the ocean, so we're not going to consider how *that* might affect a whale's lifespan.... /s

We already cannot get the old trash beings out of offices as is. Imagine them living another 100 years.

3 weeks ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

But maybe if they have to live through the shit they created they may want to fix some. Like climate change

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That would be a reasonable thought if not for the fact that they have enough money to make basically any problem not apply to them.

By the time it works, it'd be Millennials, tho.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a millennial, we do not WANT to live that long. We want to live to be like maybe 35-40 and be done.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

35-40 would be fine if we weren’t just modern day serfs

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fact that most of us make under 2k a month and will never be able to retire is good enough reason to go at 40
