TLDR: Babies born the natural way get beneficial gut microbes from their mother. Babies born by c-section miss out on this, which can lead to various immune disorders. This article is about new research showing that mixing a bit of the mother's poo into milk for the baby can grant them these beneficial microbes. Still a very new technique, though, and nobody should be trying this at home.

Ah, I remember hearing about the microbe deficiency a few years ago - nice to see that they're finally getting closer to solving this issue. Even if I don't find the idea of a poo milkshake very appealing lol!
