This reminds me, I forgot to include giant fairy lady! I guess there will have to be a part 2.

The word play is fun but the entire structure of Link's Awakening, egg and all that, along with the title makes it work so great without changing a thing.

I would've included him but it appears he doesn't really come in twink-form.
HairyChairstepper
Why would he come in twink form? He's totally himbo material
LockedAndKnotted
Yeah, that's not really my cup of tea.
HairyChairstepper
Ah totally fair.

I know it is prolly jsut a silly dream but i hope to be able to one day play a big zelda game on a nintendo console that offer graphics and performance closer to that of PS or Xbox.
hotaru251
Emulation has allowed you to play games better than original. Raytraced BOTW is amazing.

I also wish this for the older 3D zelda games with darker art styles (mainly OOT, MM, and TP).
I feel like WW, BOTW, and TotK have a specific bright art style that won't be improved by greater hardware capability.
JustSomePersonThere
I could not agree more.
KsuviKhor
Unpopular Opinion: I have played plenty of modern games on much more powerful systems than the OG Switch, but BotW/TotK are so damned beautiful and run so well that they put some AAA games on those more powerful systems to shame.
These statements might not seem accurate from a purely technical standpoint - but numbers and statistics alone do not equate to how a game makes you FEEL when you play it. BotW is the only sandbox game to ever make me cry from the beauty of an unscripted sunset.
trondason1
Yeah I'm in the same camp. I was shocked when I learned that some people were having problems with framerate and textures, because I do not recall ever noticing any problems
gman003
I'm a mixed PC + Nintendo player, have been since Gamecube era (my PC back then was Athlon XP + GeForce 2). I play games at 1440p, 166Hz, HDR VRR. I also play games at 720p30 on Switch handheld. The only game I even *noticed* performance in was TOTK, and it never felt like an actual problem, just some dips while loading in. It's the only one I *might* buy the S2 upgrade for, and even that's probably not.
JustSomePersonThere
I agree with everything you said. BotW is a masterpiece and I still get choked up every time it plays the cinematic of that first tower being acquired. And yes, even a sunrise will get me.
What’s the point of 120 fps if your game has zero soul?
KsuviKhor
JustSomePersonThere
Yeah man I can tear up a little thinking about it….
swedeonamoose
tbh i could never really get into BotW, 30 fps that felt like it dipped under that several times together with every item apperently being made out of rice paper just kinda kept me from getting immersed, i still bring out my WiiU for WW and TP but havent really touched BoTw again.
KsuviKhor
Please note that my experiences with BotW were on the OG Switch - this might explain why I hardly ever noticed any framerate issues.
And yes, the rapid degradation of equipment in the game was very controversial. Personally, while I did not care for it at first, once I got used to it (and figured out that on-map weapons respawned with every Blood Moon) I actually grew to like it. It added to the survivalist theme of BotW, and by the end of the game it wasn’t a big deal at all to mitigate it.
JustSomePersonThere
What do you mean by rice paper items?
swedeonamoose
your weapons and shields breaking all the goddam time, even as a survival aspect a lot of them felt like they broke way too quickly
JustSomePersonThere
I understand now. You were speaking on their durability. I too was frustrated by that at first until I saw it for the blessing it was: they wish to teach you to not get attached to shit, and to have a reason to always be looking for another weapon! I now wish more games worked that way.
