It's my fourth cakeday and I wanted to share something I like. Galavant is a musical comedy taking place in medieval times and I think more people ought to know about it. It's on Netflix.
It does not take itself seriously. at all.
It has a handsome hero!
An 'evil' king who kidnapped the hero's girlfriend.
And just a few anachronistic jokes.
Also it has guest stars like John Stamos, Ricky Gervais, and Weird Al.
Really, you should watch it.
boethius
It had its moments--very sharp and fast humor at times--but it's very tough for me to get into musicals.
Chickenbuttholeremover
Oh poop, I got gravy on my tummy flowers.
GodEmperor0fMankind
I've watched this show three times already and I think I might go for a fourth.
GamingGuy721
And just like that I'm gonna rewatch it
Samsquantch82
There's so many amazing parts of this show that this post could have been five times as long and it'd have been only a taste.
aejhaa
This was a seriously amazing show... was really sad it got cancelled
TruckloadsOfBroccoli
Getting a Robin Hood Men in Tights feel!

AstroExplained
The most impressive part was the beard consistency!
noscarletcoat
Literally playing it on Netflix in a different tab right now :p
RageMonk
This show was utterly amazing. I've watched multiple times, with my (bearded) dragon Tad Cooper.
AntRam95
Love how at the end it turns out that it really was a dragon
WeeJubya
Dagnammit Netflix! Make it available in the UK!
mattdm2
Scanning the comments to see if it was available here.... this makes me sad....
tibris
I have a dragon!
HeyAssButts
I super believe in you!
swicks
Secrets, secrets, hush, hush, hush! Thirtieth verse same as the first!
TinksTitties
So like...is that what Cain did after he didn’t want to be a Knight of Hell? An evil king?
IRMETUL
This looks like some kind of combination of the princess bride and robin hood men in tights. Think I'm sold
Boopdog
Yup. Think Princess Bride if the princess thought "Wait, actually marrying a king sounds dope. Let's do that."
jackharvest
After they took this show away...
UndeadRamen
Don't watch it for ME, watch it for Tad Cooper!
VioletDaisy
I believe in you, Tad Cooper :)
hellafornia
I fucking loved this show. it was so meta
Demoncptn426
I can't believe I forgot about this show!!! Idk if I even finished it last time
DinglyDanglyDingDongDiddly
Tad Cooper was the realist.
MishiMoshiSquishyToesies
Galavant was a good show. Why is it that the good shows always die early and shitty train wrecks go on forever?
Andalite
God, the songs were fucking amazing
Lazaque
Weird-Al was the only reason for me to watch it. It was a fun show
DizzyWood
Off with his shirt!!!
majinrat
+1 for lassie the king
MrTay
On the psych Christmas special I was wondering about the beard.
Kesohhosek
All I could think when I saw him
PresidentialRoboHobo
Well he is into re-enactment
EwokDude
#2 is that AIDA from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Eicha
As someone that could not stand musicals, I absolutely adored Galavant from beginning to end.
ThisGuyHere
I actually sing King Richard's lullaby from season 1 every so often when I'm putting my son to sleep.
StevenFarmer
Was that Weird Al Yankovic?
tibris
he helped fund season 2
Lazaque
Absolutely.
StevenFarmer
Awesome.
TransGirlsDoItBetter
Tad Cooper is the best.
HeyAssButts
I super believe in you
xt1031
I super believe in you, Tad Cooper!
HawkthePlayer
I met the black actor at my friends wedding, he was the best bridesmaid for the bride.
TheMostSensibleofChuckles
Called a Man of Honor. I was one for my cousin's wedding
HawkthePlayer
Thank you.

Np. Btw, I think it sounds bad ass.

brownsugarbk
Thank you!
nouseforaheart
I hope you enjoy it :)
AurikNecal
I despise musicals with a burning passion. This amused me and I actually watched it.
TheWombatStrikesAgain
Sometimes I wonder how many great shows I've never heard of because they had only one season and smaller fanbases than Galavant or Firefly.
Cpthornswoggler
Wonderfalls
SemiVirtuous
Pushing Daisies had 2 seasons, but was canceled and storyline rushed in the final season...i hate when that do that almost as much axing a..
SemiVirtuous
...Show that shoes promise and hasn't gotten its feet wet. They just always seem to fuck up time slots. Man I hate Fox sometimes...
grapefiend
Amen.
archirat
I'm currently salty about the cancellation of 'Dirk gently'. Season 1 amazing. Season 2 good... and the goddamm cliffhanger!!!
HeyAssButts
Omg! I didn't realise that it hadn't been picked up. The cast have been campaigning and so have fans. I thought they were still waiting...
Woodcastle
Yeah Not yet, hard to say if it will Netflix and Hulu share rights to it so it makes things more difficult.
archirat
I want it to go to Netflix. It's a binge series anyway. It will get a hell of a lot more views.
FiftyShadesOfArugula
Have you heard of Better Off Ted? My Name Is Earl? Arrested Development? The Brink?
Relicanth
Earl had a good run. His list had like 100 names on it and he lasted for 4 seasons (IMDB=96 episodes) which is about right.
kirbyvictorious
Ended on a fucking cliffhanger tho...
AuntSharron
We have Scientology to thank for that. The actors who play Earl and his brother both got sucked into that awful cult :(
TheWombatStrikesAgain
All of them, except The Brink. What's it about?
FiftyShadesOfArugula
An insanely fast-paced modern take on Dr. Strangelove that survived only one glorious season. Maybe a bit too fast-paced and quick-witted...
FiftyShadesOfArugula
for the average American TV audience member. But also irreverent to the point of being ever-so-slightly non-PC, so it flopped with critics.
