BaconAssassin00
April 2024 and September 2099. The only two times anyone wants to be in Ohio. #UofM
Placentaur
Oh dang I could get a full one if I stay in florida until 2045... HELL no.
MyMeatballs
Maybe in 2024 I won't be sleeping in again
IMoveWithTheEleganceOfAnAfricanElephant
Good looking out, OP. It rained all damned day here. I guess going to Montreal in 2024 should be achievable with 7 year's planning.
TheDeathlyHallowsOfMySoul
Great. I didn't get to see the one this year because of where I live, and the next one I'll be able to see is when I turn 33
weirdipedia
Pick up a summer home in the arctic while they are on the cheap to see September 2090
NerfHerderTurdBurglar
why are some thicker than others, and why do some just end abruptly?
FlaccidRapper
The ones that end abruptly are because of sunrise/sets. not sure what the thickness means though.
TeamToasterNeverForget
people in mississippi and alabama just want the sun to shine instead of going out all the fucking time..
asw6254
Jesus- I take my hat off to the people that can work this out
broodletoodle
Looks like I'm going to the Florida panhandle for my 61st birthday
Dorsk84
Fuck 2079.....yea I'm not going to live that long.
pbiersac
Just thinking how unlikely it is that I'm going to live to 101
Not with that attitude...
theaecy
Damnit why does the next one in Minnesota have to be when I'll probably be dead? Dangnanit weather you had to go and be dumbfucky.
rugger
I'd be 110 by the time it crosses over Minnesota.
Wattsupdoc
2019 in South America
boogertown
2045!!! I live in central Florida. Can't wait!
ionicseraph
Shouldn't the one in '24 be 'the great American eclipse'? It goes from atlantic to pacific AND includes Canada and Mexico too
curezen
This is bullshit. Why do live in one of two states that never gets an eclipse
orangearcadi
Why are some lines thicker?
ThijmenDF
Because the moon isn't always equally far away from the Earth. When its closer, the umbra (part where you see totality) is larger.
zak55
That 2024 will go right over me if I stay in the same locale
AttractedToShinyThings
I'll be 138 in 2099.
AverageEverydayPeasant
Just gotta stay alive for another 28 years. And not move from Tulsa.
Zombeavers
Just gotta make it to 2078 and it'll pass right over me
ddkong86
Suck it AZ & NM.

Fatkins
Pretty sure August 1, 2008 has already passed but im no scientist.
Augio

Lontri
That would be nice indeed.
mtgnerd
The earth is flat.
HurtinAlbertan
Luckily 94% of Albertans have a welding mask just kicking around, that's for certain
ginniper
Kaosminett
Guess I gotta stick around for the next one. Tried looking at the one today but it made my eyes hurt
ladyzeiraphera
Don't want to be still living in Alberta in 27 years. But I guess I'll have to come back.
Fawndler
Haha, Yeah, I feel like that's a pretty relatable sentiment here.
SWReefer
Gotta hold out to 2099 to see it in my home state
22960556
Baba wanga said that we should all be robots by then so you and me both.
KroniK907
2097 for me
TherealNotSid
Could be worse. My state won't even get one.
Velexis
To see it in my home country I have to survive to like 2175 or some shit.
Dovorac
As a fellow Virginian, I agree
bananatoast
I believe in you
sharkkibble
I just had a sudden bout of death anxiety.
redbagelpuppies
It's okay, we'll all die one day.

Same, and also right on your heels with age. Might make plans for the next one through the continental, had some friends much closer 1/
2/ to the path that made the trip and said it was pretty fricken' cool. Didn't get much out of an 80% eclipse with the clouds where I was.
Btw, I'm 30 in dec this year so... you youngins need to step up the nanobot medical devices.
RogerDurder
I had the exact same thought. If my kids stay in Milwaukee they will be in for quite a show
DonaldTrumpsFlaccidHairpiece
Hey, they figure the first human to see 150 has already been born, so you got a shot!
I'll be 112 so here's to hoping. Technically my birth state is as but we may bed to va when I was 1 all I've ever know. Though as felt like
Home when I visited

So today's was not really once in a lifetime for everyone since it looks like it will happen again across the continental US in 2045.

And it will be even bigger and better!

2024 for me.
Niagara Falls baby. Going to watch it in style. Debating on booking the hotel now. Also need to get a passport
Will it be 100% coverage there?
It's directly in the center of the totality path. Over 3 minutes of totality on 2024
You are right...2024 it will be across the continental US
Strostkovy
hey man, techtonic plates and stuff
Shit does move!
icookfoodandfightfire
i believe 2045 is annular so its not gonna the total eclipse we had today. The moon won't be as big in the sky and won't fully block the sun
Hilaritybomber
The image says "total" solar eclipses
Total and annular aren't mutually exclusive, total means that the entirety of the moon is in front of the sun
Annular has to do with the distances involved, where tree moon is closer/sun is further did the moon doesn't fully cover the sun
A total annular eclipse would just be the moon in front with a halo of sun around it
