I tried, really tried, gave up halfway S1 E5...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or you can read blood of elves and continue on

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I love the Witcher games, and I get the fans need for this show, but it’s godawful.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Watching them slowly. Been watching since it dropped on Netflix and we just finished ep3

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Managed to enjoy first 7 episodes pretty slow, one a day or two. Sad that i only have one more to go, nooooo...

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I didn't check the episode list before I just slamdunked play and expected it to be like 10 episodes (like N often do) but nooo. It was 8.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is exactly why I won't watch incomplete shows no matter how hyped or popular. I wait some more years and watch then.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*laughs in Westworld*

Venture Bros. has that beat...

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Guys, I keep thinking it’s 2018 I was just like “fuck me, 3 years”. Second time today.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had no idea...fuck

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Fuck.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Note for anyone who hasn't seen it - There are 3 timelines, one each for Geralt, Yen, and Ciri. When characters meet, their timelines merge.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Or almost meet...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So play Wild Hunt. That'll keep you busy for a bit.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fight scenes against regular-ass dudes were pretty disappointing. Lots of CGI sleight-of-hand 'cuz they didn't give Cavill enough time.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Been looking forward to it for two years, put off watching till few weeks after release, spread out over four days..and now we wait for more

6 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

I’m glad I’m not the only one who did this ?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My husband and I got to one week. He yelled at me for wanting to watch 2 episodes in a row

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Oh FFS

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wasn't going to watch it, because fantasy isn't my thing, but my partner wanted to, so we did, and I'm glad. Thoroughly enjoyable.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Same here. Then he listened to the audiobooks. Said they’re awesome.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m listening to the books on audible. The narrator is incredible!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My husband is also listening. Says they’re amazing.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The narrator is wonderful. Such an underrated performance art form but it makes a world of difference.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He says that as well. Listens to 3 hours at once!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I never played the game would i still like it? Or be really confused?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Really confused. You'd have seven books and two previous games of content that you skipped over.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

You'll probably be really confused by the timelines if you didn't read the books. The games are barely relevant in terms of story.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The games take place five years after the end of the books, so you won't need to know anything about them.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I knew nothing, and have still really enjoyed it. I’m sure if something really confuses you, google the term+Witcher. I’ve done that.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You’ll be fine!!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SO good. Watched 1&2 and stopped for a week and made myself wait a day between each of the rest, saw the last ep and the one before in one

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nice night w/dinner.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But did you toss him a coin?

6 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 6

I'd toss him a coin, like the pervert that i am. :p

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm not gay, but Henry Caville is Henry Caville...

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I dont generally value people based on what they look like but i do have a soft spot for a snaggle tooth :p

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, turns out I'm not the valley of plenty

6 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

Me either, dont feel lonely

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Or will season 2 be released 3 years ago. Let's face it The Witcher isn't very good at delineating time.

6 years ago | Likes 408 Dislikes 14

For the confused, this interactive timeline and map should help: https://www.witchernetflix.com/en-gb

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

O m g

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

For essentially a collection of short stories taking place before the books, they did fairly well.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I need an edit with it in order. I was so confused at times.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly I liked that about it. Having to use both subtle and not so subtle clues to figure out the timelines. I felt proud when I was sure.

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

It sucked

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm going to rewatch it soon for this very reason

6 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Season 2 will apparently be better about that.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because season 2 starts the actual saga where season 1 was the short stories

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's because it's based on the first book where it's just short stories, it's going to be more linear as it goes

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Well it's not actually because of that, because Yennefer's and Ciri's stories were extrapolated from at most a few lines. It just showed 1)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

each characters origins, which is impossible to do in a single timeline unless you wanted them introduced halfway through the season.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While you want read the first of the books. The Last Wish.

6 years ago | Likes 226 Dislikes 2

I've ordered them and am checking the mail every day!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cannot wait till they get to the time of contempt.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a book!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Will do thank you

6 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

Then the “Blood of elves”

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or listen to the audio books. The whole series is 110 hours, which is at least a few weeks of commuting.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Weeks? you underestimatemy power! Last Harry Potter was 2 days of reading.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok, but can you listen to 110 hours of audio in 2 days? I mean I guess at 2.5x speed for 48 hours straight...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thought the first was book of elves

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Blood of Elves, seems to pick up where the show leaves off

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seen. Thanks you guys!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Blood of Elves is the first novel, Last Wish is the first book.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are two collections of short stories before that. Some of these stories made it into the show.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well seeing as how the first show is entirely based on the first two books, that's not surprising.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

IIRC, The Last Wish is the last book written, but is first in-universe chronologically? I might be wrong

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah no. First book written and first book in chronology

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

See, I was wrong. Well, my bad guys, sorry, shoulda googled it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does anyone know where the post is with the TV show, games to play, and books to read with approximate times?

Thank you!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Books can be read in order of release, and the show covers approximately the first 2. The three games act as a sequel to the entire series.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Of the games, most will want to skip to W3. The first two are old, janky, and make up a single sidestory. 3 is the real end of the saga.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

They are better narratively talking from far. If the graphisms are enough 4 u, play the 1 which has the best narration. 1/

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The 2 is still beautiful, has the best musics, has the best freedom and rpg aspect giving you new chapters depending your choice.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 actually holds up decently and looks pretty good on a well specced PC

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 is also on the 360 and compatible with XB1 - but I feel like it's maybe too much of a direct sequel to 1 for it to work for newcomers.
