And no time limits. I mean, the last 10 or 20 years should have been enough.

We didn't even have the decency to wait for everyone who experienced it the first time to die before we did it again

80 years is long enough for those that lived through it and most of their children to have died out. So without constant remembrance, thorough education in school and reminders in our environment it vanishes from collective memory. With the US going backwards and rewriting that history education.

So society at large is left with superficial knowledge and people instead spend time discussing if it really is like back then or just vaguely looks like it but isn't

Exactly. The fascists REALLY want to get an A this time.

I remember some viral post back in the day about if they could cut one subject from school and majority said history, so I get that they don't recognize fascism when starting it in the face.

The problem is the history channel stopped showing WW2 documentaries every other hour.

You couldn’t be an insomniac back in the day without seeing Nazis getting their ass kicked.

They went from that to find Nazi memorabilia in storage units and finding out how valuable it is. Pawn shop guys buying valuable Nazi stuff.

It’s like the world started saying “hey this Nazi stuff is valuable.”

And here we are.

Unfortunately a large portion of humanity is incapable of understanding or even believing that which they have not personally experienced.

It hasn't been easy but the States have been working really hard on it.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This assumes it's possible to do otherwise with the combination of technology and biology/psychology/sociology we have.

NOTE: "You can do what you will, but you can't will what you will" and people are not blank slates, so the fact that it's theoretically possible for YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS doesn't matter (and I'd argue it's less possible than you think). I'm talking about statistically.

But we had to do it because Hillary wasn't good enough! So really this is her fault, and anyone who tries to hold the voters acountable for their own selfish choices is literaly worse than Hitler. Because if they weren't, why then... that would mean the voters made the WRONG choice. And we all know that NEVER happens! Beisdes, we voted for a woman of color and that cancels out all of the harm Trump will do.

Americans have wanted fascism for 200 years.

I mean, that sounds like a minor hell to me. I'd probably not be able to complete the test in that kind of environment

And then you'd spend the rest of your life insisting you would've gotten the answers right if they'd just broadcast it a little louder in Michigan and Wisconsin.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What if you had to take the test while the answers are actively being tattooed onto your forearm?

Probably better chance. Might get horny though.

Seems to me that USA is predominantly populated by poor fucks who will do anything for a dollar (because they have to), ignorant fucks who thinks that a rich con man will make them rich too, and filthy rich fucks who will throw anyone under the bus to get even richer. No wonder the people with education is starting to leave that shithole.

There's also the folks legit working to make a difference. But while we're working, the rat bastards can coast on inertia, and between them and the unmotivated we're outnumbered.

This has been a long-brewing shitstorm.

Don't forget the people who blame all of their problems on everyone else and never take accountability.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

90% of my problems are what Trump and his goons are doing and I did the one thing I could to prevent that. I have every right to blame everyone who made him president.

and a general its does not affect me directly so I dont care even thought its stuff like if you make public transport viable there will be less trafic on the road meaning you can driver faster becuase there be less trafic jams. but nope becuase in there eye we can spend 1 Bilion on adding one more lane to the highway (thats jammed constalty) or put 1 Bilion in a subway/buss lines that will cut car trafic by 79% on the highway.

It's gonna take a long time to convince all those people to use public transport instead of using their own vehicle. It's become normalized and is overall more convenient for a lot of working people. I can't pick up three kids at different locations using public transport, not on time and still have enough hours to work through the day

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is a large group that want to use public transport it just that there is none.
and what little exist is so bad its might as well not exist.
add in that what exist and who uses it well... that would sort of fix itself a bit over time.
but one of the bigger hurdle whit public transport is reliability. aka it departs on time it arrives on time (5 min is good enouth), it depart often enouth that if you miss one your not stuck there for 50+ min but more like 5-15 min.

“Any” inconvenience? They already live in the only “developed” country where medical debt exists and kills people annually. By the time they chose a reason to leave it’s the straw that broke the camels back, that country is a shitshow

im sure they had nothing to do with the system they live in. whatever guy - You got yours fuck everyone else.

"Developed" hits the spot. the US is failing in many terms to be considered developed. but Americans as a whole are to proud to admit it and rather fight to be right than fix their shit.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It always irks me when people point and blame a nation, as if it was a collection of people who were so fundamentally different from themselves that it could NEVER happen here. My country has a right wing government and a whole parade of dumbasses who love them. The only reason we aren’t America levels of indoctrinated is because it’s not financially viable to invest in doing so.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you are spot on. thats why I said "Americans as a whole" that mean its a generalization of the overall and not all individuals.
but whenever i speak with an American (US)... well Texans to be more exact, they are also denying the problem exist and if not then it impossible to improve it.

a country that still have so many technological problem that was solved by other countries last millennium, i have a hard time considering Developed.
