Wild magic's a bitch

Borrowed the words from yours @Kavrae because it made me laugh!

Grabbed a suggestion from the comments section, thanks @derschweiz It made me laugh!

Here's all 12 classes for D&D 5E that encompass first level experience, Enjoy!

EDIT: Cleric fix https://imgur.com/a/Twh8E
EDIT: Yes there is magic the gathering art used, wouldn't you know, turns out MTG art is good and varied and many. I used them because the art is good, both games come from the same company and many of the artists have produced art for both.
EDIT: Part 1https://imgur.com/gallery/m1Q0T

Nah. Monk should be "I can't afford a weapon. Good thing I don't need one."

Swear to god i get on imgur to turn off my DnD brain, and every time i see a reference to it which drives me back into writing mode.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Paladin one is most apt for my D&D 3.5 group's Paladin.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Level 1 Warlock: My one spell slot is gone, can we take a breather?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Monk: I don't have a weapon, I guess you'll* do.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#4 ONWARD!!!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My wild magic sorcerer diff, in fact, blow up and kill an entire party minus one person. BUT, she also killed all the monsters, so was a win

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#8 Reminds me of Katheryn Winnick in her role as Lagertha on Vikings...

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

The cleric has a the the stutter

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like this

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

this..i adore..

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm in a DnD session right now and I was gonna get an evil spirit pet but it was really high level and they all said "don't open the box"...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I opened the box. I got saved by the paladin tho.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

lol that character never heard of Pandora's Box I guess. :P

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This reference is amazing and deserves points

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you mind if I print some of these for my cubicle?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do it up, I don't own these, I just came up with and stole some words and photoshopped some pictures.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thank you! <3

Warlock: "Eldritch Blast. Only Eldritch Blast."

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Than that moment the Warlock figures out how to rapid-multi-cast it at the rate of a gatling gun. :)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is also Sorlock 20.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Monk: "Do you know how to use a weapon?" "Not at all!" "Stand behind me." "You misunderstand. I mean, I was trained to go without..."

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Do you have a weapon? No, I am the weapon.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is #8 Lagertha?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I came down here just to see if anyone else shared my opinion.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think so, I'm not entirely sure.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Created my first Bard recently and had a blast playing it! Was a Fighter in the last campaign and gotta say; Bards rule! :D

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm comically "anti-bard" but only for lols, they're one of the most versatile classes. And responsible for every halfbreed in the world.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should try building a Bardarian. Sing the reaving songs of old.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my next game I want to play as a Tiefling fey warlock. He was raised by Satyrs and just wants to seduce every dude he can find.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The image used for the monk is Wulfgar, the barbarian from the books by RA Salvatore.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah but it is a good representation of a monk in a brawl

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like you needed to borrow some art from Magic the Gathering...any reason for that?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I didn't need to. Same company and I wanted to avoid using character art with white backgrounds.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, that makes sense.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also using annihilating fire for the warlock makes me lol :D

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Paladins used to be "If it smites, I fights!".

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They were so much more fun in 3.5 :(

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn, I'm off target. Have an upvote for the confusion.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had loads of fun in 3.5 too but I like the accessibility of 5E because it means more chances to play, without the boorishness of 4E

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember one time while playing as a dwarf cleric me and a buddy(also dwarf) derailed an entire adventure to get booze. (cont)

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I once drank the booze I was supposed to deliver to a questgiver, and got points for staying in character.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As one does.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

The evil cult we were chasing was in the tavern basement.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The DM was like "damnit how can I end this goddamn trainwreck, they're so fucking dumb. You wanna go to tavern? Here, evil cult in tavern."

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My brother and I ended up brewing up some "Purple Drank" during a campaign that if you drank too much your character would go blind.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i mean... it just wasn't an adventure if it wasn't derailed at least once.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had a party go from trying to help some refugees to triggering a riot in which they murdered 16 civilians in cold blood.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*STAB STAB STAB* "WE'RE HELPING!" :D

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm a fairly inclined for a magic user, is really magic sucks on dnd?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Oh it's pretty fun in D&D 5E

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't go into magic for the damage. Go into a magic class to make reality your bitch.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

at low levels it sux balls, but at high levels you are a god, example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk0sOGVSAP4

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What gives you that impression? Magic is awesome! It does take quite a bit of reading to understand, though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Magic is really, really strong. It's just real slow to start out because of small limits for numbers of spells cast per rest... 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

But once you get going, you can do some stupid crazy things which is hella fun without having to worry too much about limits. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Unless you're a warlock. In which case it's creativity with 5 spells per day and a few invocations, cantrips are your best friend.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Spells can usually only be used a certain number of times before you need an 8 hour rest. The number of times you can use certain spells 1/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

varies by level but for most games/campaigns unless something can be used as a cantrip which has no cost, you are looking at casting 2/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

only a few actual spells before you need a break. As a bard I decked myself out to be awesome at melee so I could reserve my chaotic spells.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I play a wizard. It's mad fun.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the edition, but usually, magic is sort of lackluster at really low levels due to limited resources, but quickly becomes OP.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Everything sucks at level 1.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The creative user of magic in D&D is literally a god. Play wizard, get creative, never do a point of dmg while being a god.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

"You're confronted by the evil high priest and his followers." "You mean MY followers." "What?" "Mass Charm."

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's why wizards were OP in 3.5. It's not about dealing dmg, it's about the myriad of ways you can end an encounter without requiring dmg

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But also they did buttloads of damage.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are still pretty fantastic in 5e.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Divination wizards in 5e are the most annoying to have when you're DMing an encounter and want to win the fight.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Daily reminder that in 3.5, level 1 wizards can one-shot a purple worm with a 95% success rate.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

how?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Low touch AC, low INT, no attribute damage immunity. With enough DEX, ray of stupidity renders it brain dead on anything other than nat 1.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The paladin one should be: "There is a Smite for every kind of Evil!"

8 years ago | Likes 137 Dislikes 2

Smite always, ask questions never

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, but that doesn't reflect level 1 play

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 1

Level 1 paladins in 5th don't have smite.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Paladins don't have smites lvl 1

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Your not wrong, I had to bend a little because I really like the line

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think Divine Smite is pretty well rounded, granted you lack the Smite slots(Spell slots).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Paladin: One wrong move away from losing the favor of their god.

8 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 2

Paladin: My god does not kill, so he sent me instead.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT THE POWER I HAVE GRANTED YOU, MERE MORTAL? IS DEVOTION TOO DIFFICULT FOR SUCH A BOON?!

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

"I can turn my sword into chocolate at will" "IS THAT NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU?!" "No... not really"

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Hey for the monk one, isn’t that Wulfgar from forgotten realms?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It fits the description of the bar fight when they were trying to save Regis.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ya no it looks good I agree, it’s just Wulfgar is a barbarian and that scene is from sea of swords later in the series

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never got that far in the series. There was a bar fight in one of the earlier books, when they were trying to save Regis or Kattie-Brie >

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's Forgotten Realms. Sounds interesting

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't remember.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well its a huge book series that follows d&d rules. There is a a lot of different stories that follows a main group.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The most popular being the Legend of Drizz’t series. Which in my opinion was very good.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a sorcerer. v

Chaotic Neutral Sorcerer or Wizard every time for me. “Why did you cast fireball on that barn?!” “The dude jipped me- this wand sucks!”

So... add sour cream?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vermin Supreme is a wizard, not a sorcerer!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I feel like bards only exist to appease band nerds. Like as a last ditch effort by Forgotten Realms to increase player base at whatever cost

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bards have been around from before Forgotten Realms....

Yea, I know it's from one of the ravnica blocks. Sever the Bloodline and Annihilating Fire also in there.

YOU WHAT, HERETIC?!

I really liked this post but your monk pic is of Wulfgar from the Drizzt books and he is very much a barbarian in a bar fight in Luskan.

No one cares.

I literally finished reading that chapter s couple days ago. Wulfgar is best barbarian.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Part1: https://i.redd.it/xa5iwkgnwpay.png - Part 2: - better than them?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And thats when he lost his hammer temporarily right?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yup, sadly this was the most painful book to get through. Not Salvatore's best...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel that the Spearwielder trilogy was his best work. The forgotten realms books began feeling very repetitive imo.

So's the Rogue, for that matter.

Okay so I wasn't the only one who noticed some of the art was from mtg cards

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

how come no one in that picture is wearing a shirt?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

fay

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're hot and in fantasy, what else do they need?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's a tavern brawl in a fantasy. Why WOULD there be shirts?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know, there's not a lot of art of a monk improvising, short of a Jackie chan not looking for a fight.

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 2

There's a monk in R.A. Salvatore's Cleric Quartet. Maybe there's artwork of her? (Can't remember her name, sorry.)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Danica Maupoissant. She's a badass.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That was it. I couldn't remember her name, having read it a long time ago. Thank you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She is such a badass!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So good, I saw that too but didn't chose it because white background.
