If you have/had normal children at birth, you are more blessed than you realize. Give a prayer of thanks.

Very cute baby

A thought the babby definitely had.

#5 is arguably the best picture taken with a picture taking device thing.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's an encephalocele!

What a precious little face!!! Who downvotes this?

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

Good job. Best to remove “he who shall not be named” from the back of his head before he grows up and gets a job at Hogwarts.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I hope he has a long and happy life!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh dear God, as if I needed more nightmare fuel about all the things that can go wrong with a pregnancy, there's like 10 more at the bottom.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

VERY rare, my friend. And it looks like it is treatable and he will go home soon. You're doing great mama. Focus on those little kicks. :)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... I'm not pregnant yet.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh sorry, your comment made it sound like you were expecting already.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glad, all is going well, were in temple street ourselfs (I'm sat in same room), with newborn, going for brain surgery on Wednesday. Scared.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aw I'm so sorry to hear that ! They're the most claustrophobic rooms! Is it me crimmons your dealing with ? They're so great at what they do

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*Mr.Crimmons

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's our person doing surgery yes.

6 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

Were really nervous, our newborn has tumor inside the brain. Hes going to take it out this Wednesday.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's brilliant ! He done two of my son's surgeries . I just hope so they go ahead with it on the day , He was fasted 3 times for 8-10 hours

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the first week because they kept having to cancel the surgery due to emergencies coming in! It's horrible watching them be hungry

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hes a fighter!

6 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 4

Breed them tough!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean I doubt he knows much of what's going on. Let's thank the doctors shall we?

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 24

Shhh. Brain surgery is risky, and while much goes to dr’s, he’s a tiny fragile baby - he’s tough to have two MAJOR surgeries so young.

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

He won't even remember them growing up. Perfect time to slice and dice

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I know what you mean, but this kind of sentiment is more for the giver than the recipient. Kind of like remembering the dead.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

See the dead have had a lifetime to leave a mark though. Some good some bad This is an empty canvass. Come back in 40yrs, then we can praise

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We don’t know how badly the parents wanted this child, how much they went through to conceive the baby, etc. Granted, this child means as

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

little to me personally as someone else’s dead grandfather, but some people choose to empathise with that person’s loved ones.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still takes will and hope to survive. Doctors are great yes, but sometimes you can do all you can for someone but won’t be successful

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

If the recipients don’t make the effort too.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dont worry mom/dad dude is a warrior. He gonna be just fine.

6 years ago | Likes 579 Dislikes 9

He's gon' be just fine

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Our tough lil'dude

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

He'll be fine. Tough little warrior.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's a baby. I challenge a real warrior vs baby. Baby would get squashed. Lets tone it down there a little @tittokmelo and thank the doctors

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 89

Don’t be a twat. Docs/nurses/RTs are well aware of how much work these little creatures are and they all recognize the babies’ strengths too

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

Their care team will be the first to tell you how much of a fighter the baby in their care is. Source: lots of experience.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Do you live to be a cunt or is today a special day?

6 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 7

I'm a firm believer in the twat-factor: for every nice post on here, there's always an inordinately high amount of twats on said post.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

My friend once said I want to punt a baby. I near died laughing ? prolly wouldn’t go well here

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Tell me about it. Tough crowd. So many snowflakes

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But it isnt about the whole crew that made it happen. It is about the strength of a little one that is enduring all that.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He's on drugs and meds my homie. Wake up

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Come on big boy any one would be. Once again the post wasnt about the crew that made it happen. It was about a baby. No more to say.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's exactly the problem

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doctor's play a vital role in the survival of newborns. Bit the will of the newborn to live after surgery is vital as well. Both important

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tell that to the surgeon that cut open into his skull my dude. You know how many risks are involved with operating so close to the brain?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Especially on an infant

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right, exactly my point. I feel like we're on the same page - newborns can't even survive a cold let alone brain surgery. (1/2)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Though I do get what you're saying - credit should be given where credit is due. Without the surgeon, little baby wouldn't be here today

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So the fact that the surgeon was able to perform it so the infant could live, AND the baby withstood the surgery are both impressive (2/2)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are you just going to make me Google this or is there an explanation coming?

6 years ago | Likes 231 Dislikes 5

imagine a hernia of the fascia around your brain.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Looks like he was dropped on his head as a baby

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 161

Looks like we found the biggest Dick on Imgur.....

Wikipedia: "caused by failure of the neural tube to close completely during fetal development"

6 years ago | Likes 188 Dislikes 0

Basically the fetus is like a paper that gets rolled like a joint and then grows longer. If it fails to close, you have a gap in your head

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is one reason why folic acid is so important!

6 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 0

I took that shit like it was going out of fashion during both my pregnancies. So important!

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Was it some type of pill you took or some certain food you ate.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Both but primarily 1 folic acid tablet a day provided by the NHS

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Basically part of the sac that envelops his brain had squeezed through between the gaps in his skull

6 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 0

Oh.. Dang, that's one big brained smart kid.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like a brain hernia? Is that really safe to squish back into the brain case?

6 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

Yes. They don’t squish it back in, that part isn’t functional anyway. They cut away those parts and stitch up the meninges around whats left

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Well, the brain of an infant isn't quite done forming yet. So, the best chance of things going right is at this age. Random facts, I got 'em

6 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

But do you know why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Literally know one knows this!!!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's because there's cinnamon swirls in every bite!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Iunno, I ain't no rocket surgeon

6 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

are you a brain scientist though?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

nyes

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But are you a brain surgeon?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1
