Yes, but also just use a hard plastic reusable straw for drinking savory things that have no business tasting like a fruitloop.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jesus, haven't even thought about cereal straws in years.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude those straws were the shit why were they ever discontinued

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I was a kid there were FlavorStraws. They had porous inserts with various flavors that made milk taste like chocolate or strawberry.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1. it is shameful to make these. 2. it is shameful for a parent to buy these.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

how about getting rid of all plastics but this is a good start.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha I never knew these even existed. Bring them back!!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can you imagine drinking soda with those though? Gag.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes please

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...packed in plastics.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Twizzlers

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Better idea, keep the plastic straws, get rid of the plastic cups.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I second this motion

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, what exactly are handicapped People supposed to use?

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Instead of straws, how about we ban CVS from printing receipts for a year.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 762 Dislikes 4

Straws are wasteful and the people who actually pick up the garbage should have some say

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Twizzlers work too. Pixy sticks too I think.

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Dude...twizzlers with Frozen coke!

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Sour punch straws

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Funniest shit about the enviro conscious stuff is the moves to get rid of single use plastic bags, unless you reuse those "green bags" 200+

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

times, you're actually doing more environmental harm...

I read this with Chris Traeger’s voice.

Red vines should be advertising like crazy in California. Edible straw. Buy stock now

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

on behalf of the dentist association, i agree with you

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man I remember those. They were god awful

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

How could they be bad? Wasn't it just Froot Loop cereal extruded in a tube?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In theory. It just has a weird taste? I can't really even explain it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still want to try it. This isn't even normally my type of thing. I bought pistachio flavored Oreos a few days ago. Something's happening.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well good luck on that man. Maybe you'll like them. Maybe I'm just remembering them wrong, who knows. I just remember not liking them.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WTF! How did my chubby ass miss this?

7 years ago | Likes 130 Dislikes 2

You're young.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You didn't miss much. They really weren't all that good.

7 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 12

It was eternally stale and was just gross

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Never had the chance to try one as a kid.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You shut your whore mouth the fuck up right now they were the good diddly damn best thing to replace a straw you slimey cunt

7 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 4

they were terrible at being cereal, and awful at being a straw; fight me!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, cause that plastic and foil packaging just evaporates into fairy dust.

7 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 49

Worth it

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Captain serious business over here

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well that's good to know, I was worried it could harm the environment.

7 years ago | Likes 109 Dislikes 2

Let's make the packaging out of cereal?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, cause the thing we really miss about edible straws is the packaging they come in.

7 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 5

No you idiot, they're talking in the context of environmental impact. The packaging is the problem, not something they're nostalgic for.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

You missed the point he was making: that recreating the bad old packaging was unnecessary to recreate the straw itself.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Only the packaging being plastic, instead of both the packaging AND the product inside, is a step in the right direction, innit.

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I haven't seen a straw in plastic wrapping in a long time. Almost always paper.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That CA straw shit is so God damned retarded....

7 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 11

Yeah, but to be fair it's just as easy and barely more expensive to provide paper straws.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It started with charging 10¢ a bag but weed is legal so at least for me that makes up for it

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is it? Tell that to the choking sea life.

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 10

The experts from the 'Plastics Industry Association'?

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

You know how it got banned? A BS study by a 9 yr old in 2011 Thats since been debunked. Aka. Bullshit

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you need a 9 year old to tell you that plastic straws are bad for the environment...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Way to deflect SSgt. Deedaddle Dumbfuck

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Plastic straws are a horrible thing to ban. Some disabled people require them to drink safely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IBH0pcKzlY

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You don't need a source for that statement. It's obvious. My retort is something biodegradable.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There is currently no biodegradable replacement/alternative for plastic straws. This is explained in the video. I suggest you watch it.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

6 pack holders are still being sold, but straws are the enemy. There are so many other plastic things we could ban. Paper straws are shit.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

There's always a beginning. You can't just ban everyrhing plastic in one fell swoop unless you have the abolity to replace it.

Mmmm. Mcdonald's actually voted against this whole straw thing, and i'd think they make a lot more money than common restaurants. /1

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Straws need to be made of plastic, because they sit in your drink. A plastic bag ban makes more sense than banning fucking straws.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Why don't they make sense? They're too small to be picked up at recycling.

If only it was available in more places than a stand in New York. Sincerely, a Floridian.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s useless to me :(

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kelloggs has an irl stand? Is it just a bar that sells bowls of cereal? O_o

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

A bar that sells cereal too???......I can only imagine. ^__^

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well I know where I'm going tomorrow

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

My best friend works down the road on 17th, see you there?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

mail me some

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not driving 12hrs to get a f***ing straw!

7 years ago | Likes 177 Dislikes 1

especially when you have to deal with NYC traffic too, you may as well kill me first

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well if we’re using that logic not even New Yorkers would want to go

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes you are. Why do you lie?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like they're probably going to use it to gauge public interest and maybe release it on a mass scale if it's a hit

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 hours for me and still not worth it.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

besides, I bought 10k straws

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But it’s to save the earth, you monster!

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It'd take me 41 hours if I drove the entire time with no stops

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How you filling up with no stops???

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't take any stops into account but that's cause I wouldn't be going anyway

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aawww

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's only 30 hours from Sydney. Worth it!

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

By car? You must have a fast car for it to go over water

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Heyoooooo

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What about if the straws reproduce asexually?

7 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 0

That would be kinda cool and worth it.
