After years of hard work I moved into my first house and had room enough to display my Warhammer collection. Sure it's expensive but it's therapeutic for me to build and paint these.

I’m aiming to do the same @OP when I retire from the Navy & get a place of my own. Though mine are Grey Knights. Hubby is Guard/Space Wolves

As a new mini painter who aspires to the competitive level, I totally love this. Always upvote minipainting, Warhammer or not.

That's like $200k. Women if you like men with money, look for farmers and warhammer players.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They won’t be seeing any of that money tho...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're off by several orders of magnitude there bud. It's still expensive, but all that is less than 5k.

Nice! I collect action figures but some are in storage because of the wife but I have a small shelf with all my favorite ones.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean.. you can spend your money in whatever the fck makes you happy, and that's really good!! Congrats!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn I want a space like that. I don't really touch 40k stuff anymore, but I build other plamo.

They won’t let me upvote more than once, but I can’t stress how therapeutic this is to me as well, I’m shit at playing the game. 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 I thoroughly enjoy building and painting anything 40k related, it’s a pity it’s a bit more expensive here in Australia :( but worth it.

I want to say that unless you worried about guests damaging your stuff, display it in public. Be proud of your detail painting!

I have a family member getting me into Warhammer.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Get some frames for your otherwise nice posters :-)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just got into warhammer, got a starter for the necrons

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Impressive! Nice left 4 dead posters too!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Impressive.

Nice stuff, just picked up 2 vultures, baneblade and 2 sets of Bulgyrn. Never forget the planet broke before the guard did

100% casualties? Mission success.

+1 for using "the guard". Because THEY WILL ALWAYS BE "THE GUARD". TAKE YOUR MILITARUM AND SHOVE IT IN YOUR ASTRUM!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Pssh, enjoy dying for your corpse emperor. Renegade guard have it figured out.

I need to order display cases... just got my first figures for anime characters suggestions on where to get?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine are from Ikea, any other case similar was double the price of these

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dope. I'm not into that stuff but congrats on the house and good for you if it's therapeutic. It's healthy to have hobbies.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Congrats! That collection is a thing of beauty. The Emperor would approve.

I've seen three Warhammer 40K posts make it to FP today. That's gotta be a record.

What is the ship on the upper left, on top of the display case in the first image?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Spartan scenic ship, I bought the 15mm one and use it as a thunderhawk

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah, thank you.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Any chance of an album of all that sweet shit in there? @Xylon95

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you look in my profile I have a lot of my work but I'll put one together soon. I wanna finish some stuff I have first.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good man! Look forward to it

I’d rather spend all my money building legit versions of weapons and armor from the universe. Most of it we have the tech to build now. Well

8 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 4

Human stuff. Electrified swords, carapace armor, bolters with explosive ammo. Etc

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

We cant do bolters yet. Gyro-get weapons are too slow, and thats how bolters essentially work

Ships capable of traveling through the psychic alternate hell reality created by the thoughts of all sentient creatures with a soul

If it works anything like event horizon and money was no object I could give it a shot but no promises that there will be daemons

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cloning your godlike sons.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would too. And don’t think for a second I’m not researching conventional immortality.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like you're gunna be just fine if Fallout becomes real life.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

To be fair I’ve only managed a single incendiary round and I can only kinda electrify a sword. I’m hoping to get better

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

If you throw a water balloon at someone all your attacks autocrit. Invest in some. I would.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Pfff super soaker

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just build a water gun into the pommel of the sword, pack on your back. Squirt n slash.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Neat never seen 1.7 million dollars displayed that way ;-)

I have I 20k point tyrant army. So....

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"That feel when you realise 40k doesn't refer to year, it's how much you've spent" -some Imgurian who prolly stole that one from somewhere

8 years ago | Likes 114 Dislikes 1

Are you for real? Wtf.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hahahhaha

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Do these have any value?

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Just emotional.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think the joke is miniatures are a money sink.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Only until you buy them.

8 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 0

Why does this not have 500 upvotes?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im three comments deep on a post that has lass than 2000 points. It's amazing it made it past 50 upvotes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on the paint job, but the miniatures usually sell much cheaper than miniatures+paints+time you spend. Also GW is very expensive

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yes it is expensive but honestly their sculpts (usually) are awesome, as a hobbyist for 15 years, the quality has gone up shitloads

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's about 15 years since I played, so may be you are right

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The technical quality, perhaps, but I feel their designs are less inspired than they used to be about 10 years ago.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They resell pretty decently. Usually at around ~50% of the MSRP. Seeing as how you can often buy them at 80% of the MSRP, it's not so bad.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That said, the price of Citadel (their "craft" line) Paints are hilariously high. We're talking like $4.50 per 0.4 fl oz. paint pot.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A normal model, painted at even a novice level, could use upward of 16 different paints. (including shades/highlights/technical/etc)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(At a professional/advance level, the number of paints used per model could be exceptionally higher)
