Depends on the paint job, but the miniatures usually sell much cheaper than miniatures+paints+time you spend. Also GW is very expensive

Yes it is expensive but honestly their sculpts (usually) are awesome, as a hobbyist for 15 years, the quality has gone up shitloads

They resell pretty decently. Usually at around ~50% of the MSRP. Seeing as how you can often buy them at 80% of the MSRP, it's not so bad.

That said, the price of Citadel (their "craft" line) Paints are hilariously high. We're talking like $4.50 per 0.4 fl oz. paint pot.
