Found this gem on Imgur years ago. One of the best recipes I have ever come across. A hit at every get-together!
Top them off with minced onion, chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime. I find they're best on corn tortillas.

Real carnitas are made in a cazo which is basically a giant saucepan and is made with lard and also orange juice or beer

In south Texas you'd take out the veins and seeds of red dried chilies boil then blend with garlic and probably some other stuff...but..

As a Mexican... This is not how you do it at all. Carnitas are fried pork, fried in lard. Like cracklin. This is a nice lazy way though.
