Some 17,000 bricks were used to construct this 64 story tall LEGO skyscraper. Standing at a little over 5ft tall this model is at 1/2 mini figure scale. Construction started off with base plates and the beginning of the lobby. The wiring harness was positioned down the elevator core.

There are over 1500 LEDs in this building. They are all connected via 6 separate circuits which feeds to a 12VDC power supply.

Construction took over 83 days and countless hours.

SMD 3058 LEDs were used and cut into strips. Each strip was painstakingly soldered into place. There are 6 strips with 3 LED's each on every floor. There were some 1500 individual solder joints made.

I tested each floor individually as construction progressed.

The Lobby consists of a 3 floor high ceiling with a mezzanine on the 3rd floor overlooking the lobby.

The lights were secured using hot glue.

Each floor was built separately and then lowered over the wring harness and fastened into place. Slave labor was used to fasten each individual window pane into its frame.

Quite a few pieces in this model are glued together. However joining floors are not glued. This model can be taken apart if necessary.

I used Red LED's for the aircraft beacons on top. They are steady and do not strobe as I ran out of patience towards the end.
