#1 These spikes are far too rusty and pitted, think people, shine and sharpen, are we trying to harm prisoners with *gasp* biology?

#25 I made this a while ago, if anyone might have a use for it...

#29 both "free upgrade" and "sample" remove any obligation of recompense. Leaving out a plate of pastries with no sign or other indication that they're free would work though. Getting customers to sign up for a rewards program with a carefully worded disclaimer is how they would get you though... because let's be honest, you've got a coffee you're trying to get to, you're not reading all that.

#1 I've used this line intentionally a few times when working in food service

#1 I spent a year making pictures of hundreds of NON-Human Commoner NPCs, for those DnD DMs who don't include a broad variety of Commoners in their towns, or who *do* have Commoners but they're always Humans. I never thought to include an OSHA inspector, although I *do* have a Goblin Mason Guildwarden, wandering through a construction site, inspecting the stonework with her level. Oh, and a Half-Elf Reeve, marking off a building as unsafe to enter, after a fire.

Are they available for purchase or download somewhere?

Unfortunately, they're all AI. Normally, I wouldn't touch AI with a stick, but the issue of "Get DMs to use non-Human Commoners" was important enough to me to override my qualms. But everything's free--I think the ONLY people who should get any $ from anything AI are the original artists whose work was stolen. I also shouldn't have said that I "made" the pictures--I didn't. I just planned, curated, & edited them.

#1 WHO are the staff that go into the dungeon and light all the fucking candles and torches before I get there???

#25 Fake. The text is in Futura which was created in 1927.

When I read about this before, it seems to have been a joke that circulated in the 70s.

#2 A sandwich is as good as you make it. Ive never been rich since I live on my own but I never cheaped out on sandwich fillings. A good sandwich is its own reward
AngelBolen91
Im an adult that makes adult money so I load up my husband's sandwiches when I make them because I buy the groceries and so the cost is mine alone to consider. If I need some help with groceries I will (and sometimes do) ask.

#13 that last point was the basic premise of Voyager, in that they were so far away in space, it’d take roughly 70 years at whatever maintainable warp speed they could manage, non-stop.
Then they threw out all the interesting ideas in favor of mostly TNG’s leftovers.

#11 You divert power from life support because the ship will be fine if the oxygen generators and climate control are disabled for an hour, but will not be fine if the shields, engines, or phasers are down in the middle of an emergency.
Badprenup
I suppose many people, including the OP of that image, think of "life support" only in the context of a hospital, where if someone is taken off a life support device they can die within minutes.
AlexSomething
"Oh no, we'll be cold and won't have the freshest air for like, an hour tops, what will we do?"
adamlstf9
Okay, but the shield GENERATOR is down. Throwing more power at it isn’t going to help, no matter where you’re getting it from. The generator needs to be fixed so that it can take the energy already designated for it and use that energy to generate the shield.

#2 Seriously: It is not very easy to unlearn these patterns. I'm far from poor. But I still have that tendency to save up on fillings. Because that's how I was brought up. It just feels wrong putting on more. Not because this causes any issues in the here and now. But it used to.
Ivain
Same, only reason I started getting over it is because I learned how to make sandwich-type stuff at a gastronomy place, and the amount of overpriced those were meant that spending the same amount of money on being able to make a dozen of those myself was much more worthwhile. Only 2 reasons I don't do any of the complex, over-stuffed designs are 1. That stuff's messy, and im already a messy eater and 2. half the ingredients will end up spoiling because I can't make sandwiches fast enough.
GravyEducation
But we can thrive now! Because we are smart adults and even if we can't afford the primo shit, we are capable of great things. Take that lettuce, shredduce it, make a simple dressing with that olive oil you still have, any leftover salad dressing maybe, let's get creative! I will fight for any man woman and child to never have another single bologna slice sandwich ever again
brandonblk
you guys can afford stuff in the bread?
GravyEducation
Homie come over to my house I can make some shit on the cheap, I'll even give you a shot and a toke if you wanna play video games with me. Worst case scenario we eating peanut butter toast and getting high

hell yeah
sabrinadiesatdawn
#5 As a DM, I would interpret this as "I give you full permission to fuck with me as much as you want." I would have him be slapped and berated for leaving by former lovers. In some towns it would be females, in other towns it would be males, and then there's that one kobold. The BBEG, naturally, would be the character's governess, driven to insanity by the character as a toddler.
GravyEducation
"This is gonna sound crazy but I have no fucking idea who you are" as they get increasingly fed up with having to explain their own amnesia. "LIKE SERIOUSLY EVERY TOWN. EVERY TOWN. I. DON'T KNOW. WHO. THE FUCK. YOU ARE." paladin steps in "yeah he's kinda telling the truth" bard "but give us ALLL the details"
sabrinadiesatdawn
ooooooh... Even better, maybe this isn't the first time the character has had complete amnesia? "That's what you said before we got back together last year. At least come up with a different excuse!"
GravyEducation
And then one session they get a sudden feeling. Wait I know THAT PERSON. That's my parent/sibling/betrothed/ best friend! Then that person goes "who are you?" Then you could do the story of HOW they got amnesia and have to find more amnesiacs and restore their memories, because there's a magical reason for a mass memory loss. It writes itself.

#1 Return of the Jedi, as a film, has many faults, but the way there's a Rancor keeper and he gets super upset when Luke kills the Rancor, isn't one of them.

Tales From Jabba's palace, a collection of shirt stories about minor characters in those scenes has one centered on the Rancor keeper.

#11 the Scotty in Strange New Worlds literally does this. O'Brian in DS9 literally does this
GravyEducation
O'Brian gets tortured in other ways
LtRooney
Torres in Voyager does it. Hell, Malcolm Reed got one of these in.
GravyEducation
Reed was a baller, one of my favorites in a show I did not like that much. But you look me in the eye and tell me that episode where he gets impaled on a Romulan mine isn't an amazing Trek episode, and one of the few times Archer violated the "captain can't go on a dangerous away mission" times that was kinda justified. Yeah Tucker MIGHT have been a better choice but the connection between captain and XO was vital in keeping Reed calm while wounded.
LtRooney
I understand why some people think Reed was boring (he wasn't) and under-utilized (he was) but I loved learning every little thing about him that they had to pry out of him.
GravyEducation
Exactly. Oh tight-lipped by the book guy, booooring. Um how about view it as the first interstellar voyage and he was highly trained in a military capacity to be the first Riker on a ship, yeah, every time Riker said "captain I can't allow you to go on this away mission"? There's a saying: those rules were written in blood. The commando stuff got pretty dumb at times but... its enterprise, it's pretty fucking dumb most episodes
