FoamingToad
Well, @op, you made me laugh loudly three times and I saved about five. Will be buying the hamlet cyoa book presently. If this is viral marketing, you're doing it right. If not, you're doing goods work. May a fair wind be at your back.

#2 Puppy is always puppy.
ArcaneM37
#2 I used to go "I'm... a... PUPPY!" In the voice I used for my puppy and then he would get instant zoomies. He's only 3. I bet he'd still do it.

#17 Tbh- my immediate thought is this “Omg- Clifford’s never been fixed!” and having immediate images episodes like “Clifford gets his nads stuck in the garage door” or “The Big Red Dog Humps Jessie’s Bouncy Castle”.

i would watch the shit out of this anime or live action show.
Larktonguesinadicecup
I'm not remotely a cosplay girl gooner but this trailer moon pic has always engendered in me a desire to be near this specific woman. Maybe it's just because she's pretty but I'm afraid it might be the unhealthy habits and decrepit scenery.
BrigidtheMechLady
#4 Magica Riot by Kara Buchanan. The girls aren't in their 30s, but early 20s and there's plenty of angst. Also, the protagonist is trans and that's awesome.

#50 Why on Earth would excel have a list of provinces of some country when it doesn't even have a list of all the countries themselves?
News flash: +95% of the world would never in a million years use that function.

Wait I have to create a whole new pigeon hole in my mind cottage? Outrageous!

This is so intriguing! It would be interesting to know what chromosomal configuration the cat has. Perhaps it is not relevant, but it could also be?

#9 I like that. This is not my third burger in five hours, this is my THERAPY Dave's Double With Extra Cheese.
phobosorbust
#10: using the back door I stuck into their laughably-secured augs during Timmy's ninth birthday party last summer, I whip up a quick script that messages every girl/boy/other, per context, they've ever mentioned in chat with the text of that chat. I then hardcode their image filters to force permanent catface and a sign that says "It was just a prank bro" before force-quitting the helltunnel and sending their parents a link to better firewalls.

#16 just the other day my trans friend said basically the exact opposite, that it's like knowing the game will be better after spending a crazy long time with the character creator.

#1 Gender: Cat
viva93
#46 is confusing sci-fi with the sub genres of future punk and cyberpunk. also confusing fantasy because lemme tell you a LOT of influential fantasy is stemmed in germanic eastern European, Scandinavian & Roman/Greek culture. I'm actually kind of confused by that because I honestly can't think of many Asian influences beyond dragons within fantasy and even those have germanic roots too not exclusively Asian.

#4 I would definitely watch the hell out of that. "Roxy, I know you can summon unicorns, but can we just take the car?"
Aerina
"I'm still making payments on this car and you want me to drive it towards a BATTLEFIELD!?"
underestimated37
#4 almost as bad as the actual anime where the magical girls transform into the most efficient fighting machines: men! All along with a gay love story or two along the way!
Aerina
I liked the one where a guy in high school becomes a magical girl, but he doesn't transform into a girl he's just a guy whose transformation forces him to crossdress and he has a Chainsaw......... and also he's a Zombie.
FoamingToad
I just thought, 30 and a mortgage?

Magical girl ore if anyones wondering

Sounds a little like The Crone Wars series.

#5 well, if you grow up eating seasonal fruits it becomes a part of the seasons. But to be easy too serious on a silly meme, this is also a problem of capitalism. It pretends to be atemporal to the point where it tries to erase the biological time.
Human cultures are heavily tied to seasonality. All those celebrations of harvest, equinoxes, coming of spring or rainy season. It grounds us, it ties us to communities and the world itself -
theskepticinme
But im putting fresh strawberries on the thanksgiving menu. So there had better be strawberries
ProppaGanda
Capitalism tries to alienate us from it. It's beef and potatoes all year long. It's same entertainment, across seasons and across decades. We got robbed of the most basic spirituality.
minant
I disagree somewhat: part of it is a by-product of modern greenhouse agriculture. We learned that if we wanted to be able to grow things in certain places to feed certain populations, we needed to control every aspect of the growing environment... so we did. And that meant the external growing season was irrelevant. It's easy to fetishize natural cycles as being more wholesome somehow, but the plants don't care.
Capitalism drove development, but it's still a sensible technology to use without.
killerwhaleindisguise
Nevertheless, green houses use a lot of energy to give the plants the warmth and light they need when they are out of season. Also, you tend to eat more variated if you try to stick to seasonal plants.
ProppaGanda
It's not really irrelevant. I'm yet to find strawberries or tomatoes grown outside of their season that could be nearly comparable. It's also not about wholesomeness but rituality. We are creatures of symbols. There is a reason why religions have ritual calendars beyond not being able to grow wheat in winter.
cavymeister
#46 but that's the fifth element. Where are they colonizing Asia in that movie? He's a good vendor in NYC.
Beardybeardrage
One of the best parts of the movie, IMO. Generalizations aren't usually correct.
Radix865
There are a lot of sci-fi where China/Japan is the or one of the dominant cultures in that world, they weren't colonized they were the colonizer. Cowboy Bebop, Firefly, Cyberpunk, Altered Carbon and Blade Runner come to mind.
Totallyscrewedinaustin
Don't forget Firefly!
Totallyscrewedinaustin
Nevermind, my brain skipped over that you have it in your comment! It's too early for my brain to work!
