I have been trying to use this consistently, and so far I’ve noticed It’s been helping with my style!

I completely disagree with some of this.

That’s okay

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or I could just be lazy and wear whatever's clean at the moment.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Been there.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Friday was rocking pink and green like nobody’s business.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Only Alpha Kappa Alpha girls are to sport the pink and green.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Black goes with everything

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So you’re telling me my wife was right all along and that the shirt really didn’t match those pants? Interesting...

8 years ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 1

Hold up, don't jump to conclusions. I think somr more research is needed

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

“My wife was right all along...” Well, duh!

BLACK-BLACKBLACKBLACKBLACKBLACK-NO.1

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wish maroon was on here. I think maroon matches everything but I'm sure I'm wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I use purple as my maroon palette if that’s helpful

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is, thank you :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So dark blue goes with everything but grey doesn't? Shenanigans.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

For the guys: brown belt, brown shoes. Black belt, black shoes. Never wear same color tone top to bottom.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why are blue and green never combined?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think they overestimate how well brown and bright orange go together

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Brown and black should also not go together.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

& brown with pink is a hella cute flirty fall look

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You can wear any color with neutral colors- I’m not sure why it says you’re limited to a few.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, excuse me for wanting to look like a clown tent that got dressed in the dark.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If I wear green and orange Imma look like a carrot.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Don't let your dreams be dreams.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So beige goes with dark blue but dark blue doesn’t go with beige. I guess I’ll never understand fashion.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Maybe it's accents? I dunno man

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah I don't get the tonal outfit colomn..

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Tonal is something you’d wear if you were looking to be more edgy per-say. It matched but just barely.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah that makes sence. Thanks OP

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No problem!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't like this

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Great, now I have to do the exact opposite of this because I'LL DRESS HOW THE FUCK I WANT.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Go for it!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

just fucking read about color theory

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah you could just remove all the neutrals from the pairings, because they’re neutral, they pair with everything

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So Trump should wear green and navy blue?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone with the fashion and color sense of a slightly moistened brick, have both a favorite and an upvote.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, if you pair orange and green my first thought is still gonna be of a pumpkin. Could be Ryan Reynolds and I'll think of pumpkins

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I paired green slacks and a burnt orange 3/4 zip and it looked really good together, had a lot of earthy hints.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I suppose if the orange wasn't too bright it might be okay

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OR if it was a dark green and a bright orange

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmm nah that verges back into the pumpkin zone

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What’s wrong with pumpkins? Lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don’t need any coordinating if you’re nekkid.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You have to coordinate your birthday...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only if that particular day I partake in my birthday suit

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good to see a lot of colors go with my jorts.

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

Jorts...you and my husband are keeping that atrocity alive.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Jorts are great for family outings during spring and summer, ok? Don't hate, appreciate.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Canadian?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They are comfy and show off my calves.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Infographic doesn't take into consideration warm vs cool undertones or clear vs soft shades...

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Or how you can get an amazing monochromatic look or patterns or different materials, possibilities are endless.Wear whatever the fuck u want

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The graphic is bullshit though. Especially when it comes to business attire.Monochromatic or pastel works best, use colours for accessories

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also doesn't explain that different combos look different on different people. What works great for one person might make 1/

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

another look like they just crawled out of their own grave. 2/

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Y’all are both right but that’s where you playing with the variations helps

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Actually working on my own tutorial about it, but other stuff keeps getting in the way...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Lemme know when you have it up!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Will do! Slogging through some fine-tuning at the moment.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a white guy, I regularly where red shirts with blue shorts. I feel like it fits well, purely because of the flag.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very French (or a dozen other nationalities.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

wear* oops

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"I'm not unfashionable, I'm patriotic!"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, I am 100% unfashionable haha. No way would I spend more money than minimum.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's too much to worry about

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So, your main color can’t be black?

8 years ago | Likes 805 Dislikes 15

Can never go wrong with purple and green.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Depends. Black works great as a default neutral on some people, but not on anyone who is too warm-toned or too pale.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Black isn't a color Jared, it's the absence of it.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Spot on. Spot on.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you miss the part where black is included in every pairing and therefore goes with everything?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No because once you go black, you never go back...

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

...or, you might get stabbed, bitch.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Black goes with black, black or black. Tonally wear it with black or black.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Color of clothing? Or heart?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Black is always my main color. So easy.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Black is my wardrobe.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every colour there has complimentary as black I’d guess that means black can go with anything

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It already goes with everything. Check the pic above, Black & White are paired, and in every single field.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Black and white basically go with everything

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Black and dark blue or brown is terrible though.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

I must disagree, Black and dark Blue can work very nice. Brown and black is tricky though

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Agree black and brown is tricky

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Except each other these days it seems.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We all just need a little more Mikey.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I find myself constantly matching black with black

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

And blue jeans.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same but just with a tiny bit of white.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Black isn't exactly a color.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 10

Yep, it is a neutral. In clothing fashion blue is also a neutral which is why it has so many dots next to it in this chart.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I feel like I'm back in grade school and you are that fucking kid who just loves pointing out things like that. I want to punch you.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Bring it cunt lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So, it should be removed from the chart?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No I'm just saying it's not a color. I'm being goofy and pedantic. Goodness people are getting pissy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Black can go with all of these so just flip it. you just need be careful when using more than one color to match the certain palette.

8 years ago | Likes 210 Dislikes 0

What if I just wear a black shirt and black pajama pants and/or basketball shorts(depending on weather) cause that's how I want to live

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Do it, this isn’t mandatory.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

But what if, and hear me out, style is subjective and you should wear what you like and not what other people tell you looks good?

“And hopefully good.” I was agreeing with you till that. Shame.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 11

That’s totally fine, but some people like to match accordingly!

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Style may be subjective but colors aren't. Some combinations will always be aestatically pleasing.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

And what is aesthetically pleasing is subjective. It’s amazing right? That people can think for themselves.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

This is helpful for dressing properly in professional and fashion-related environments as well as appealing to the most common perceptions.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Black paired with black and more black. Professional environment sorted. And with fashion, again, subjective; so whatever.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Some places are very conservative, e.g. corporate banking. If you break societal standards, you are judged as ignorant/risky/rebellious/etc

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can't convince me that this isn't just some arbitrary bullshit.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 3

It is

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It is.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It is.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Definitely. One of the best colors to wear with brown is blue.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I love those two colours together.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Actually, there is some methods to color matching that aren't total BS. But this seems pretty damn random....

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You have achieved accidental correctness, as human color perception is most certainly an arbitrarily-evolved trait.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

However, color theory is an invention of generations of human study of perceptible colors in nature, so at the very least, it's engineered.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That said, as an artist, I can confirm that this particular chart is arbitrary as fuck. Mostly because we arbitrarily labeled these colors.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There are also tons of colors in-between the ones above, on the color wheel, and some of them go better together than these.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To boil that all down to a point: this chart is helpful under certain circumstances and useless under all others.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I feel like the '80s are underrepresented in this chart. Where's all the neon colors?

8 years ago | Likes 111 Dislikes 2

Or the many shades of brown and yellow for the 70s

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They at least have the Miami Vice pastels.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Always bet on black

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Female artist's opinion: black washes people out, making them pale and blemishes more obvious. Black on black is bad, light ties over 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Dark shirts is just.... No. And graphics on shirts look like a twelve year old chose it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Random opinion: People should wear what they like. Call me old fashioned but I like making my own choices without being told they’re wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No one is telling you what to wear, this is just a guide for styling and matching more efficiently.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No I get the guide thing. But they’re saying that black on black is bad as a fact. That’s what I’m objecting to.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I would object too, I wear black on black and it looks slick, I just throw in a white as a secondary or accessory.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I said it was my opinion
