I don't know how I feel about, "It's not patriarchy's fault you submitted to it." it knocked me over when I first heard it, but as I've thought about it, I keep wanting to push back on it. Though all my arguments pushing back on it feel like arguing against my own agency.

Don't we all love these oversimplified theories that seem to explain everything... but they don't. Internet is awash with them. Keep them coming I think we need more of them 🙄 The world is complex. People are complex. Womb envy? Yes, lady, you have just solved everything 🙄

when you get the right answer on the test question but you completely fucked up on showing your work.

Misandry is not the solution to misogyny, just sayin'. But hey, maybe that's just a bad take coming from a, and I quote, "submissive, pathetic man". But you are right, clear communication is very important so to honor the part you were right about: Kindly fuck right off that-a-way, and then keep fucking off until you fucked all the way off.

Clear instruction. And a quest.

This sounds like Joe Rogan for women homie

"Patriarchy exists because men are jealous of our biological superiority" is not the enlightened, progressive take she thinks it is.

3 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This is a really condescending and sexist way of saying "just talk with your partner because they might not be thinking exactly the same thing as you".

3 weeks ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

As a, male, former career sex worker many, many years of those as a pro-dom; any person who unironically uses the words "inherently submissive" to describe a category of people may be safely assumed to be full of it.

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Its completely fine to be dominant or submissive as long as its a choice, but i don't think either sex is inherently that way lol. The whole "weakens the womb" thing just sounds weird.

v Womb envy?

3 weeks ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 5

I mean...but...you...

...

Huh.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

This sounds like a parody of Freud and penis envy.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it's a hot take, yes. and also, share your needs and dreams so that both partners can work towards getting them for each other. the womb part might just be for funsies, to trigger debate about how powerful or helpless a woman's womb is.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is so stupid it hurts to read it.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm in agreement with a lot of the other commenters. Yes, please be direct and specific. Communication is so very important in relationships, both romantic and platonic. This is true for both (all/whatever) genders. Don't expect people to be mind readers and don't get upset when they aren't. However, her reasoning for it is pants-on-head-stupid and insulting. Be clear because it's respectful of the people in your life.

Womb envy.

Womb. Envy.

... and she said that with a straight face.

3 weeks ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 6

Tbf, a lot of what she said was insightful, but yeah, that was kinda jarring.

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Clear communication is a solid foundation for almost any relationship.

3 weeks ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

Yeah the rest was just pseudo psychology babble.

3 weeks ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

And arguably pretty damn toxic (not sure if toxic femininity or just good old fashioned misandry, doesn't really matter) with shit like, and I quote, "this makes you behave like a submissive, pathetic man". In summary: An awfully hateful video that happens to make a singular good point, well I suppose a broken clock's right twice a day.

Interesting

I don't know who's right about this person's message, but I do know that in my relationship my greatest achievements are based on humility -- in short, listening to my wife and striving to be the best half of a marriage I can be.

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this is, EXACTLY as stupid as alpha-male-manosphere bs.

3 weeks ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 1

At least she says "be clear direct and grateful", I don't think I've ever seen manosphere guy say be grateful to a woman. She also says "It's not patriarchy's fault you submitted to it." feminism has ruin the west. I will say the interesting thing about both the manosphere and her, is both tell men to center their life around the approval of women. Th men just tell other men they need 100k, six pack abs, and be over six feet. The women are telling the women don't make him have to mind read.

3 weeks ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

i think youre mistaken. both this lady and the manosphere are saying to center your life around the approval of men.

3 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I'd love to see a woman create life on her own with her magic powers, why can't we just see we are all humans on the same ruthless sinking ship, i'm tired of people that always see everything dual-sided and transform complicated arguments in simple ones only to fit their minds.

Parthenogenesis does exist https://www.npr.org/transcripts/1060612410

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

how is this relevant? The link speaks about condors and for as much as i read about it, this don't apply to humans (apart in cases of tumors it seems), no child has ever been born cause of this and most likely the child would have a lot of clinical complications.

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Sure. But it has not once been observed in humans, or any of the great apes to my knowledge, or any of the monkeys (if old world monkeys are monkeys and new world monkeys are monkeys then all apes are monkeys, you cannot evolve out of a clade) for that matter! There are some reptilians that do it (birds, lizards) but I can scarcely think of any mammal that do.

3 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Half of this is "communicate with your partner," which might be one of the most useful things a person can learn.

Half of it is dogmatic and sexist. Is she really saying men are violent because they have "womb envy"?

3 weeks ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I felt somewhat similar. I find content like this interesting because it's interesting to see if people can pull the good from a mix of good and bad, or if they can only throw out everything if any part bothers them. I found the womb envy a little hard to believe because I'm not even sure if I want kids and am not always the biggest fan of my womb. I could see someone envying them from afar, having not experienced having one, maybe.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Im not sure that the "violent patriarchy" and "men being violent" are the same thing here, I think that the violent patriarchy could include male violence against females, but I think it refers to hostile legislature and commonplace mistreatment. Whether that's something that can be backed up by hard numbers or confirmed by studies, I cant say.

Man here… hell yeah!

Don’t give us “tests” to see if we read minds - we cannot.

Wait.... We can't? I've been lied to.

I had a girlfriend and she couldn't understand why I didn't know what she wanted in bed and I told her my penis is not a data cable it does not mean that I have a direct link to your brain and she looks sad but she understood she had to communicate

Yup. I told my lovely missus, "You've gotta come straight at me with what you want. Don't beat around the bush (giggity), just tell me what's up, and I'll do my best."

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I still have to get a friend to let me know when someone is hitting on me. I may not realize it for weeks, if at all. Most recent was at a store, one girl was just being nice and handling my order, but the other cashier kept intervening and saying how she liked what I liked. Not once, but 3 times. I just thought she was being nice. Apparently she was hitting on me (even though I was in pajamas and looked like shit), at least according to my friends.

Bullshit

3 weeks ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 5

I might need more clearly and directness from you

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

Ok: This post is Bullshit.

3 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Whoa, she was right, men really do what you tell them to as long as you're clear and direct enough for it to be understood. I'm grateful for you listening to my instructions.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

As a woman, I also concur that this post is bullshit.

Could it be that a dominatrix interacts with a certain type of man? That is like asking a butcher what he knows about vegans...

3 weeks ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

Id say its closer to asking a butcher what they know about raising pigs, related but not nessessarily the whole picture. The butcher might have a good idea what to feed them and how to clean them, but little information on their enclosure or how to manage their numbers. Though their job isnt to know the mind of only people who are already open to dominatrixes/ dom/sub play, its to explore the individuals needs and desires ( from what I understand) so they may have a good deal of experience 1/2

3 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

With a wider variety of clientele than you might expect. And not all of it is sexual, if my understanding is correct.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

So we are defending 2 minute clips where regular people offer simple solutions to complex problems where they not even referring to science and/or experts? and just to be clear, I am not saying she is wrong. just that the samplesize is small and this is definitely not true for every man or even the majority

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I bet the science and experts support clarity, directness (which is kind of just another word for clarity), an gratitude an important to healthy relationships. Part of what interests me about this video is the framing. I think more people would disagree with the framing than the advice, but because some people won't like the framing they also won't like the advice that they would otherwise like.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No idea tbh. My position is that clear communication is good in relationships, I cannot prove or disprove the theories for the reason in the video. My further statement was that the dominatrix might have familiarity with more types of men than you might expect. Im not sure the issues of men/ the patriarchy as a whole can be pared down to womb envy, but I cant say that it isnt a factor within the dynamic.
