Wouldn't the caffeine in monster really fuck em up?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I thought the title was a Transformers reference.

Gave the poor thing a fucking heart attack with the energy drink at the beginning. Poor fuzzbee.

More like melt it's brain. Caffeine is an insecticide.

I also tried it once since I didn't have anything else at hand. Didn't work...

What's the lifespan of a bumblebee anyway?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Bees clearly hold the key to in taking that much sugar and not getting diabetes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

bumble bees are my favorite animals

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My dad and I often did this. He also often nursed injured birds back to health. I miss him

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

He's all like " I BEE-LIEVE I can fly! I BEE-LIEVE I can touch the SKY!!"

I tried this a week ago, the bee just ended up looking exactly like the one in this vid - coated in sugar water which hardened and it died.

next time just bring it a flower or two it can suck on, works wonders. less messy.

Just when I think everyone on here is a neonazi or neckbeard you go and renew my faith in humanity

Well without a banana, this scale cannot be accepted.

Good job on the nursing. :) It is pleasant to see such a caring person to the little ones. :)

Question: if insect pollinators contribute $30 billion to the economy, what is the value of a single bee?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I'm going to say that, objectively, this falls under the 'everything else' category. Therefore the answer to your question is...MasterCard.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably tremendously little.

It's the accumulative value though. And stop stickin dollar signs on everything! -Bill Hicks

Before giving him sugar water, did you ask if he had dia-bee-tes?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

didnt even say thanks. fucking bees.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That looks like a big bee.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Looking a lot more active all of a sudden" probably just pissed you're messing with him.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was just a diabetic

Snow Cone syrup works well actually.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(Source: I rescued one at a Zoo by borrowing my daughter's snow cone and putting a little bit of syrup on the pavement. I got pictures.)

What they need is sunlight, to charge. And a nice little flower to drink from too works wonders. This was like all I did my whole choldhood.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And still do, I love bummies :) and they so often just "fall down"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"Bummies"! That's bloody adorable!

You have to heat water to dissolve sugar in it readily.

8 years ago | Likes 124 Dislikes 1

Simple syrup recipe: 1 part sugar to 1 part water, heat and stir until dissolved. Useful for both alcoholics and bee fanatics apparently.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Dissolve sugar in water, let cool... And you have gripe water as well.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you're only doing a 1:1 ratio, it actually doesn't need to be heated..you can just put sugar & water into a jar and shake 'til dissolved!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Iirc, it should be at least warmish, 70-80°F or so. Cold water will not dissolve the sugar as readily.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean...yeah, *cold* won't work. Room temperature is fine. Heat is necessary if you have more sugar than water, but 1:1 is pretty forgiving

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Warmer makes it easier/faster, but isn't necessary like it would be for, say, 2:1
