Stop with the lies you silly c**ts. #funny

They're not mosquitoes, they're another species of small insects that don't bite you. Still annoying though.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Iceland really doesn't have mosquitoes. They do have other fly-like insects that bite you though (which is probably what you see in the pic)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

obviously robot mosquitos collecting your blood to make a clone army for the government

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My guess those are flies. Looks like the location could be myvatn. Ridiculous amount of flies when I was there.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The first picture is not myvatn.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mývatn, the lake in the north of the island Literally translates to Midge Water/Lake. I assure you there are plenty of mosquito's in summer!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Who said there are no mosquitos?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's true, they just have other insects that bite http://icelandreview.com/news/2013/06/27/no-mosquitoes-iceland-puzzles-scientists

I moved from Holland (mosquito central) to North England 8 years ago and haven't seen a single one in all that time. Loving it!

Because the north of England (north west specifically) is the best place on earth!! (I’m drunk)

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

As a correction to my last comment (thanks @joishine) it is correct that there are no mosquitos but instead many midges in Iceland. 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The lake that I was talking about is also translated to midgelake and not mosquito lakt like I stated before.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I removed the old comment so that it would not mislead anyone

midge lake, we don't have mosquitios but midges who don't really bite, never been bitten by one and my work brings me to midge lake often

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ahh I thought they were mosquito s when we were there. Nice area but we couldn't get out of the car at one point because of them

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How is midge then translated to Icelandic?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Piss off bot!

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

How can you tell that it's a bot?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Asking for a friend: what are bots used for exactly? I don't see the point...

7 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Same bot as https://imgur.com/user/emiliomuhammadnoeljoeymiles Will probably be used for spam when they have a few accounts who can PM.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Sometimes they edit the post to include dodgy link, othertimes they farm points to send phishing pms.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Getting fp, getting points, edit the post to link some shitty click bait or fishing sites or some shit

7 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

Phishing*

7 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Oh yep sorry! I'm pretty tired :D

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, it's all a ploy to advertise for fishing gear. It's a conspiracy man!

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yo he might not be a bot..that could just be a word in Icelandic

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Check the account. Most probably a bot.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No favorites, no comments, just created today and has already made it to FP. This is the very definition of a bot.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This is blowing my mind about bots, I don't know why i never thought about it ... I appreciate the bantering

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe he's a lurker that made an account to respond to a front page post about his country? I d'know, it's so specific for a bot.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Highly unlikely it's not a bot. It hasn't replied to any comments, not even this comment thread to say "hey I'm not a bot".

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I suppose, but there also aren't any ads or links. I've seen a lot of complaints about bots, but what is it they're trying to accomplish?
