Those are just regular toe-type toes.

I think that's just holding stuff down with your feet.

That man's calluses must have calluses.

Those fingers and toes look like they have a month or two life expectancy at top if he does that every day.

didnt realize basket making was such hard work!

Do it underwater and then I’ll be impressed.

I was waiting for him to build the basket up around himself and have to crawl out. 😆

OP needs to look up the definition of "prehensile".

Elephants have prehensile cocks. Not sure why that's relevant. But thanks for teaching me it anyways, Internet.

This happens a lot, you rekon he did this on purpose or accidental mistake? :P

Posthensile toes is what the guy in the video has

This man is a skilled basket weaver and those baskets are beautiful. Quite large and shallow, so they wouldn't be very practical for a lot of things and living spaces, but really very nice. Sometimes it is worthwhile to look around your home and ask yourself; what here hjave I really created? Not bought, or been given. What can I truly say that I have made, beyond the piles of laundry? This guy has created something. Maybe people value that thing, maybe they don't, but it doesn't change that.

No. Next question?

I’m more impressed with his squat mobility.

The fun part is that Americans are the weird ones for not having that mobility!

Target has these exact same baskets on sale for $10.

Tricle down economics which usa taught to the world

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I guarantee you this guy sells his for less than $10.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

He got himself a real good slammin' rock

Everyone's toes are prehensile. Most of us just live in a country where our bare feet never touch the ground, so they become stiff and useless over time.

I favorited this juuuuust in case I’m ever in a situation where I need to weave a basket to survive, and in which I also still have a charged phone with reception/wifi so I can pull this video up.

Wonderful nest building!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can he do it under water though?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just ask Paul Atreides.

Damn that knife is sharp.

Can you not move your toes? I pick up underwear off the floor and toss it up with my toes to try and catch it with my hands

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kind of disappointed he did not simply continue weaving a man-sized basket cocoon around himself. Don't know what that could possibly be practically useful for, but would have liked to see the 3D function continued to its local limit at least

You store live fish in them submerged in a stream so you have fresh fish handy if your gathering/hunting/fishing isn't good on a given day.'

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thank you. I don’t know why but that is what I expected also

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

At Crate&Barrel it would cost $100

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can get a degree in this, but they make you do it underwater.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

when I was in college we had to do that in the pool, while holding our breath

I see you opted for one of the more practical majors—a strong choice for being able to pay back all those student loans.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nah, it wasn't my major, I took it as an elective
