Tomorrow I'm going to see my doc to get the help I need to stop drinking. I'm done with nearly killing myself.

May alcohol weep in your presence, knowing it can not control you.
phonoodle415
Withdrawls might be bad. Good luck
HeroKillar
@OP you got this!
alx03153
You can do it! You got this!?????
PuffPuffPassMFer
I'm 148 days sober after similar events. You can do this!
gidgit12345101
Asking for help was the hardest step for me. That was 21 years ago. You can do this. Do it for You.
Behotti
Way to be a quitter. (you got this, home slice)
Iliketocommentinrandom
I know the feeling, going to have my first meeting with a professional tomorrow ?
BananaRammaOfMontana
I'm 8 months out. Almost died. Hospitalized for quitting twice in under 2 weeks. Be careful with the meds if prescribed. Dont abuse it

Sober almost 8 years here ... there is a healthier happier version of you just waiting to come out. Take it 1 day at a time.

Every attempt you make statistically leads you closer to success. Keep it up.
BrickOodie
FUCK YES!! I am going into a program tomorrow to get to the root cause of my alcoholism. You CAN DO THIS!!

Good job! First step which most people ignore and taking further steps and instead is: the will to help yourself
slimbington
Well done my friend. You have a lot of people who believe in you, myself included
nonamejanie
It’s the first step in a new life. Stick with it. It can take some time to sort things out.
chexandcandy
The 12 steps saved my life, I’m almost 2 years sober. Just putting it out there I know everyone has their own journey.
garuffthehorse
So proud of you OP. Whenevet you think of drinking, remember the pain and shame, not the rush. You got this.
squidless
Hell yeah!!
tenthousandwinters
Good work. It’s gonna be an uphill battle and you’re gonna have to change a lot of your habits but getting help is a huge step! Good luck.
C0ckLockedandReadytoRock
You got this! I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of liver and now I'm 2 and a half years sober!! Have faith in your self!!

164 days today. 1 month in rehab house. Months of treatment after. BE SELFISH IN YOUR RECOVERY. THIS IS FOR YOU. Remember that. Please.
beenpostingsince
Rehab goes forward and backwards. Everyone's looks different, but the stories you hear will all sound like you talking. You will feel -
beenpostingsince
"Sure but I know better/not me!" everyone does. That's ok. You can feel that way. Just remember that you read this all, and you'll be fine.

I'm really proud of you
IMGONNADOTHIS
Thankyou everyone of you. The hardest part has been admitting it openly to my parents with whom I'm now staying.
picklesandmayonnaisesandwich
You need medical help to withdraw and the help of your parents. You can do this. The first week is hell then it gets easier. Lots of water.
WhoAteAllTheBananasAndTookAShitOnTheCarpet
I remember it well. Honour them with your sobriety. They'll be proud for sure.
rdbcruzer
I put myself out there VERY publicly. It helped me with accountability. You're friends, even drinking ones, may be you're best support.
MrUglyPretty
Yeah. Being open with EVERYONE about it helps with staying on course.
tinner20
Good for you. I got help earlier this year and it saved my life
marquettegoldeneagles
Can I ask how?
tinner20
I was drinking heavily for days on end when I had no work. I nearly lost my career over it. Family pulled me out of my house and sent me 1/2
tinner20
2/2 to rehab for 30 days, then another 4 days in a mental health facility to figure out how to treat my depression. A few slips but I’m good
spacedmonkee
I'm glad your doing better. Keep on keeping on dude.
marquettegoldeneagles
I mean like any physical health issues. I have gastritis.
tinner20
No, nothing preexisting
myceilingfanispossessed
2 years 7 months since I asked for help. There’s strength in knowing you can’t do it yourself, and reaching out. You’ve got this.
belljay68512
I went off the deep end especially bad with booz from Jan to April. I've been sober for a good 3 months and finally able to lose some weight
belljay68512
It's worth it for yourself, your health, your wallet and your loved ones. Your worth it! Good luck!
RGVhome
Seriously amazing! You'll never regret getting sober - hang in there, it gets SO much better! You'll be joyous, happy & free
