big clops was like C'MON, C'MON, LETS DO THIS!

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn, that's like 10 horsepower!

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well that 1 horsepower has a massive amount of torque

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 horse power

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: a healthy horse can produce a peak of up to 12–15 horsepower during a short-term burst.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look how proud he is to show off, dude knows exactly what's going on.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There are men on this planet that could have done that, no surprise that this unit of a horse did it with ease.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolute unit

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

videos that end too soon

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A horse has about 15hp, for a short time up to 24hp. Especially a horse like the one in the clip can reach 24hp.
A big factor is the traction, four legs get much more traction than wheels.

That will be $330 towing charge

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Magnificent looking horse. Clydesdales are so damn majestic looking to me.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My dad was a blacksmith in Scotland as a young man, Clydesdales were regulars at the smithy.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

goddang that horse is hawt!

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that horse is a massive unit

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can’t park that there mate

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Should we call a tow truck? Neigh.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well the owner did ask for Horsepower for their car, he just didn’t asked what kind.

BIG HORSIE!

1 minute later: "Where's my carrots, Gerard, I was told there would be carrots."

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

1 horsepower is all you need!

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That horse needs to lay off the roids. But really, he was very excited to do the work.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

At first it looked like it was going to be a challenge but he was just squaring up is all. So cool.

1 week ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

You can almost hear him saying, "Let's do this. LEEEROOOY JEEEENKIIIINSS!"

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Horses trained to do that freaking LOVE to pull weight. The handler's not really prepping the horse, he's stopping them from taking off in a full sprint like they want to do.

1 week ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

I used to flip tires and do truck pushes for fun, so i can relate

Something about just getting after it full speed, it’s great

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I loved the "yeah yeah yeah, let's do this" happy dance.

I said Fuck your Honda Civic, I've a horse outside,
Fuck your Subaru, I have a horse outside,
And fuck your Mitsubishi, I've a horse outside,
If you're lookin for a ride I've got a horse outside!

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It would suck if they forgot to stick it in neutral before big guy started haulin

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That horse probably weighs most of what that car does, lol

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think (s)he may still have been able to pull it off... (Pun intended). BTW, there are very many video's of cars that should NOT have been put in neutral when attempting a rescue...

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

an automatic like i assume this is, because most suvs are, you can seriously fuck up the transmission if you leave it in park during a tow

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You could be right, but the grass seems pretty wet and therefore slippery. And it might be a French Ford Focus (can's make out the license plate, but looks French, same with the "Focus" letters that may or may not be there). Assuming it IS a Focus, the clip is ~10 years old AND it is not a hybrid, there's a 90% chance it is a manual. But that's a lot of assumptions, based on my deteriorating eyes.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s gotta be 1, maybe 1 1/2 horsepower at least.

1 week ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 1

2hp sustained...but around 400lb-ft of torque...

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm more interested in the torque

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

fun fact, an average, not absolute beast like this dude, generates about 15 horsepower

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Less fun fact: On average, they can only produce 1-2hp. The 15hp is for short bursts, but a sustained horsepower is 1-2

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That horse has way more HP than my civic,

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is torque

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Damn, you beat me too it.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

400lb-ft of it...

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dynamic AWD too!

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Four hoove drive.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's actually a lot more. An hp is more or less defined by the sustained power a horse can deliver over a long time, like when plowing or pulling a carriage. It's short burst of top strength are much more powerful.

1 week ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 2

Not only that but "horsepower" was not clearly defined for a while; several engineers used different metrics until Watt's 33,000 ft-lbs/min became the standard. Usain Bolt briefly generates 3.5hp in his record-breaking sprint and a healthy draft horse like the fellow in the vid clip above can approach 15hp for a short effort like this.

Actually he was just making a joke

1 week ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 5

Well, I'm not laughing, Nicolas !

1 week ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Average horses have ~15 horsepower. This absolute unit probably has even more than that.

1 week ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

Briefly, yes. About 1.5-2hp sustained, though.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's an overestimate. A good draft horse - like this one pictured - can generate up to about 15 hp briefly. Lighter saddle breeds and ponies, no.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Pony power is not utilized enough

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the youtube channel donut created a device to dyno a horse, and then tested it by using it themselves, 3 fat/out of shape youtubers apparently generate 8-10 hp

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Will have to look up how they did this. My dad had a few medical stationary bicycles that were adjustable to 400W (~0.5hp). When in good shape I could not sustain those 400W for a longer period of time. There were also 1000W (1.3hp) models and 'a Russian' supposedly ran that for a very long time, but that was in no way an out of shape Youtuber (duh, this was in the 80's long before Youtube).

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qxTKtlvaVE this is the video

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks! The numbers they arrive at are pretty much in line with statements I made (1.9hp peak power with three people vs. my 0.5hp for like half a minute).

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We need a new measurement of power that makes sense to more people, like WMP - washing machine power - so I can say my Toyota Yaris isn't very WMPy.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i mean metric is kilowatt, basically how much literal electricity the motor can generate when hooked to an alternator.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Watt's a joule per second.
