How dare people *checks notes* want to see a concert.

I got this mad once about tickets. Ed Sheeran. Concert sold out in minutes, and a few minutes after that resellers were already selling them at triple face value. I would rather Chloe have the tickets than assholes just looking to make a buck off of fans.

Imagine waiting on *Oasis* to "re-form" for 15 seconds. Wonder if they're hiring.

I like remembering old bands as the crazy young musicians I saw in concert at their height. I do not want to see Depeche Mode or any other past fav as old men. It tarnishes the magic.

I am sorry. Truly. I do have a very strong, neurodivergent imagination. But even I cannot imagine the suffering mentioned by this guy...I mean, what he must have gone through to think himself worthy to be able to gatekeep the entire Oasis fandom so hard that he would be upset that their shows are selling out...just wow. Poor guy.

"NAME THREE B-SIDES", demanded the man who's told himself a person has to earn the right to enjoy art as much as an older, wealthier man does.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Wow. To fuckin care about Oasis...

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At first I thought this wasn’t a reasonable reaction, but then I said maybe

I'm 49 and said fuck it and have seen Phish 33 times since April 2023...go see any live music you like...life is short

Twitter's format is still stupid

Blur is better.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I heard about it. “Don’t look back in anger” I heard her say.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

At least not today.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

..You guys think they'll actually go through with it or redecide they hate each other and cancel everything?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does she look back in anger?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lol. I remember going to concerts for like $5. Now you need a second mortgage and a fiber modem. The acts used to play 70 venues in a year. Yes, I'm an old man with a bad memory, but things were cheaper and more available.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We know this whole thing is made up because we all know oasis is never getting back together.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine being less of a wanker

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

More likely Brandon who got corporate tickets and has no interest in Oasis but digs the free drink in the tent

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'll tell you what she does next...enjoys the concert.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I remember a skit with a guy singing like ALL the oasis songs with the same basic guitar chords and tempo. An oasis medly that might as well have been one song.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

anyway...

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

If the entire list of available concerts have totally sold out odds are they're going to do more.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's if they haven't got into another fight after doing two.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They already announced a tour on "other continents".

Imagine gatekeeping a band and complaining that you deserve the tickets more than someone else.

2 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 3

Some bands are actually aware of this though. They will open with the super popular song so that everyone who was there just for that will fuck off. I've seen a crowd half when a band has done this

'But, what if you're "Special"?...'

Imagine paying money to see Oasis.

I'd pay if it was to watch Noel and Liam fistfight

Nightmares!

Nope

Imagine losing out on tickets to someone who just wants to hear the concert. OUTRAGE!!!

What an absolute turd - it’s not even like they’re gonna play some obscure B-sides: it’s a cash-grab arena tour, they’ll play the hits and go home. The fictional Chloe from Stockport would have a much better time than this random dickhead who thinks he’s surrounded by fake fans.

As someone who was able to take the time to drive to a record store when I got around to it and then pay like $12.75 to go see Steve Miller Band, I am 0% jealous of today's concert goers. Y'all have fun paying $500 dollars for a ticket if your internet connection is fast enough to beat the scalpers and bots that buy them all in 0.8012 seconds.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I was never a big concert person I always thought it was crazy expensive to watch someone play music but like 20 years ago I feel like bigish bands were under 100 dollars and now they're thousands.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After doing some historical research, my ticket was more like $30-ish. It was July 31, 1992. But yeah, you just walked into the record exchange with about ten hours of minimum wage money and you could see anyone save, like, the Rolling Stones level bands.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah? Name 5 Oasis songs!

2 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

Wonderwall, Champaign supernova, bang the gong I mean cigarettes and alcohol, morning glory, Don't look back in anger

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sandstorm, Sandstorm, Sandstorm, Sandstorm, Sandstorm.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Silk Road", "Caravansary"... um... uh... "Night Boat to Cairo"?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The only song I recognize from all the ones listed below are…none. Other than Wonderwall which if that’s as good as it gets…please. Keep them away. Fucking hate that song. It’s not even good. Stay retired. I would rather see a Taylor concert. 🙄 As my son calls all these old bands (so many of “my” 80/90’s head banger bands have had new albums(?) lately it’s nuts. We’re 59+ and still got it!) getting back together…”it’s the ‘we’ve run out of money’ tour”.

The Importance of Being Idle, and I don't care about any of their others.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Supersonic, Don't Look Back in Anger, Like a Friend, Song 2, High and Dry

"Mmm fresh water" "Boy, that's a lot of sand" "I like me some dates" "Camel come, camel go" and of course "Yet more sand it seems"

Don't forget their hit "Coarse, rough and irritating" from the "It gets everywhere" album.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

And of course their debut track "Is that a pool of water out here in this desert?"

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or a merigue?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You know how many generations have that level of outrage whenever they miss out on rolling stones tickets? Just because a band is from your time doesn't make them any more inherently yours. Put your entitlement back in your pocket, pal.

2 years ago | Likes 268 Dislikes 5

And how cool is it that a band that a generation loved 20 years ago is still reaching people. That should be celebrated and shared. Get your Google alerts set up, Billy, and stop complaining.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The Rolling Stones. You hear them on the oldies station, classic rock and the modern rock station. probably one of the few bands to achieve that kind of broad audience spectrum.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Green day en route

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Feels so wrong to hear them on classic rock stations. Like WTF i remember listening to them in my first car using a shitty Koss portable CD player and a tape adapter.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And then the same people complain that younger people have no taste in music.

2 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

They don't!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

They forget that when they, too, were young they had "no taste in music" to the adults in their lives.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gatekeeping is weird
