The skeleton of a King Cobra, the world's fiercest snake

Jan 16, 2018 11:24 AM

The skeleton of a king cobra.

Ate one of these guys in Thailand....yeah, they can't really remove the bones, so it was like gamey ground beef with fish bones in it.

They're really not that fierce. They just act all huffy puffy and tough, typically they choose flight over fight though.

Aren't the black mombas temperament alot worse?

“Fierce” like how Tyra Banks does the catwalk.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

fun fact: King Cobras are not actually cobras.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

They simply rule over the cobras that's how they got their name. Ever since the Naja Elapidae war over the patent of the design.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

That's a shit ton of ribs.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Snakes have bones? I always thought they were made of cartilage

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just up'd the nope factor!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Spoopy nope. .. Snoopy?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where is the rest of it ? Be careful it might be noodeling around

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Since when is the king cobra the fiercest snake? I've handled king cobras. Black mamba however, they are lucifers snakes

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I don't know why but I never though about snakes having bones.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you heard of a brown snake or a tiger snake

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Those bastards are mean, I tried gardening and I moved a box with a baby tiger under it. Dropped the box and rang my dad to hire a gardener.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wouldn’t the fierce snake aka Inland Taipan be the most fierce snake?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Only because it's the most venomous? I wouldn't say it's fierce because it almost never bites people. I'd say Saw Scale is the most fierce

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

doesn't look fierce. Looks kinda dead.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Isn't this that one boss Kirito fights in season 1 of SAO?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was thinking the same thing. I was scrolling down looking for a gif LOL

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought the Australian Brown Snake was the most fierce.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Biggest at least. But they arent most aggressive, dont have the largest fangs, and dont inject the most venom.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Eastern Brown snake is the meanest. It still chases you down when you're no longer a threat. Most other snakes only bite if cornered.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Is that a baby Skeleton Naga?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm definitely making an "Emperor Bone Naga" that is a King Cobra Naga for my D&D group to fight now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thought the same thing

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im sure the black mamba is the fiercest it moves at a sprint pace and will attack you until you collapse from too much venom.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'd say saw scale since they're responsible for the most deaths, and have bad attitudes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And the fact that they can raise 2/3 of their body off the ground to bite you in the face makes them special arseholes

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Sorry that’s 1/3 of their body. Just checked

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

if I could do that i'd never leave the house

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Oh look, a dying animal. Fuck the keeper that decided to film the poor thing and stick it online.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh no D:

1/ Sword Art Online Episode 12 (SAO Abridged Episode 11). It's the Skull Reaper boss of floor 75. Best description comes from the SAO A

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

<> "a giant fucking centipede made of rib cages and hatred"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Way less creepy with the skin still on it. Now it looks like an alien centipede

8 years ago | Likes 722 Dislikes 1

as if the terrestrial centipedes were not creepy enough.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

More like a predator centipede isn’t is?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Centipedes are just skeleton army snakes.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Less creepy?? They're beautiful fully clothed - this I would not want to see moving about like a centipede. Looks like something out of "9".

8 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 10

There already was a snake in 9,

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So you agree

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Haha yep, mis-read the comment.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Clothed"

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

or skin and flesh is merely clothing for our skeletons.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Show me any animal that isn't more creepy as a skeleton

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Corgis are the default "cute animal" of Imgur. I'm sure they're not significantly more creepy as skeletons.

MY WIFE!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think "fiercest" is kind of a stretch, innnit? I mean, a black mamba will straight up chase after people and cottonmouths are total dicks.

8 years ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 0

And the King Cobra pretty much runs away unless really provoked.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Well, it’s got a fierce fashion statement.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

What about them brown snakes

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No snakes are really aggressive, it's usually a huge misunderstanding. They just wanna hide, or are territorial

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's one in Australia I've read about that is straight up territorial and will just fuck you up if it sees you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Might be the brown. Or a black mamba. Yeah stay out of their territory if you know what's good for you

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Was about to mention the black mamba. The only thing I’m afraid of when in the bush. And puff adders because they’re dicks...

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

All adders are puffs

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also the fact that the most venomous snake in the world sometimes goes by the name "Australian fierce snake"

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You know what they say. "A snake in the bush is worth 2 in..." wait, that's not right.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

why you in the bush?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Geologist. Well these days more in an office than in the field

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Could have also said "cause your mom won't shave..". Eh? Ok, I'll leave.

8.2/10 would still smash
