I’ve been working on new music lately (new EP hits Bandcamp August 25th!) and this is one song Im wanting revisit and record again called “Starlight” I only released on BC because it just wasn’t what I’d hoped it could be and I’ve learned enough to release a better version I actually like. What other songs would you like to hear a new version of at some point?
There’s 3 songs on this EP that all follow in the same vein as my D&D album I released back in December and after that I’ll be releasing music for fun, if I like it then I’ll release it.
There’s so many songs I’ve forgotten how to play over time that I’ve also been trying to figure out again. Quite a few were written in a state of hyperfocus where I’d recorded 4-5 songs in one day that I actually liked so my actual memory of writing a few are hazy at best after 4 years.
But here’s to new music and more updates soon!

There’s honestly a laundry list of songs I’ve wanted and been asked to do lol but as of the last few months I couldn’t even be bothered to play my own music for awhile. For a time it worried me but so much had happened at one time that I just had to accept there were some things needed to take a proverbial back seat for a minute. So Im slowly inching my way back into it again. Also my laptop being old and not meant for music hasn’t helped my progress 😂

Nah FetLife isn’t my vibe to be honest. I’ve stayed away from there for YEARS after knowing enough people who’ve had more bad experiences than good. I also don’t touch Twitter or Reddit but for VERY different reasons lol

Well aside from being a crowd favorite it’s actually a necessity for me in low light areas due to being partially blind. It’s not all aesthetics.

I have an RGB plan for my bedroom soon so I can avoid using the god awful overhead light as much lol It’ll take time tho but also make filming more fun again like my old studio.

How long does it take to tune a harp?

Depends on how old and how big it is. Usually this one takes less than 3 minutes if it’s not been super hot upstairs and messed with the wood. If a harp is new, it’ll arrive TOTALLY out of tune and I tune new harps 3-4 times a day which takes around 6 minutes each time to help it hold faster so instead of taking weeks, it takes a few days to hold tune better. But a lot of things can throw it out of wack such as weather changes like any wooden instrument.

Also your strings being new or old can impact how long it takes too. Usually strings only need to be changed every few years unless you play and travel ALOT so thankfully once they’re stretched enough, you don’t have much to worry about.

I think i'd find LEDs built into my instruments pretty distracting... but who knows... maybe you tune it out after awhile.

Now if they were to blink, strobe or whatever yea it’s distracting AF but to be honest who wouldn’t that bother? lol So just keeping them static and using the remote to adjust the brightness as needed, there’s usually no issues. Tho these lights need to be replaced something fierce because they’re ooooold.

Doesn't threading the LED light chain affect the sound because it shortens the wavelength on every string?

No it doesn’t impact sound at all. The company that builds these harps used to install them as part of the order if you requested it when they built your harp but sadly it’s not a service they offer anymore so when it comes time to replace them, as long as the lights don’t touch the strings there’s no interference. You just follow the under and inner part of the bridge and follow down the soundboard to the lowest string then attach a USB pack to the side with Velcro.

I was really shocked given how my texture sensitive ass hates the way so many things feel. But this is definitely a favorite. Only downside is EVERYTHING sticks to it lol
