1 year of trust building look like.
This is nala, she was neglected and abused by one of her previous owners and has always been very wary of men, she used to get up and walk to a secluded area and hide from me when i walked into the same room as her, but after a full year of building her trust, she has finally started to show her love ☺
cronkey
I love her.

You are exactly what a pet owner should be. Wish you and nala the best
MonFabuleuxDestin
gorgeous ... but she will never forget ... looks to me like a Leonberger ... proper control, early socialization & training are essential

It’s a good man you are. Persevere and love will find the way. What a cute dog!

Thank you for what you've done for her.

Right? It's amazing to see an animal learn there are good people. Once they get that, they just jump right in.

I have a sheltie named Simba! He's only 7 months old right now.

if you don't kiss your dog then i think you are crazy. seriously, those people are psychopaths (that word gets tossed around too much).

Doggone and now dog back. A worthy task with a worthwhile result. Well done.

Dog foster parent here. Good job bro. It is never easy. Have you tried crate training? Gives her a safe cave that is always there for her.
fooboy
No disrespect but what's up with all the precious moment dolls?
brekko
I adopted a dog who had a broken floating rib from being kicked by previous owner, he's the sweetest boy though.

We don't deserve dogs

Good on ya, my first rescue took three years to play with her toys, used to yelp if anyone moved fast anywhere near her.
grapefiend
And she's a beauty. Glad you could get her to trust you. May you both have many good years ahead.
ThatOtherMacAvoyWoman
I wish someone would spend a year on trust building with me :/
ChobbleGobble
Amazing work! Today is also my one year mark with my formerly abused dog, it has been life changing.
ganju135
They take longer to warm up to you, but when they do its worth it
JosephTheSticky
Our great dame was a rescue. Was super scared of men, now cuddles up to me as though she were a 3 pound dog. Sweetest girl I’ve ever seen
ganju135
I'm glad she was able to find a warm and loving home!

Just lost my dog last week. Rescued her from shelter she was abused and we think used in dog fights. She hated all men.>
CleverUsernameexe
But took her about to day to attach to me. From then on she never let me out of her sight she was my best friend. She was hit by a truck.
ravenfool
So sorry. Truly. You were both blessed to have been in each other's lives.
CleverUsernameexe
It’s okay. She died on impact so she didn’t suffer.
