I'm a member of several serial killer/gore/true crime groups on Facebook and the like and this photo is posted on a pretty regular basis. It ALWAYS inspires lots of great comments, theories and discussions so I thought maybe you fine folks might also enjoy giving it a go.

I'm really sorry if this has been posted before, I personally had never seen it and thought it could be fun.

It's murder, because a women wouldn't buy flowers that would just wither away after she killed herself

We have a killer!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Murder, she may be left handed (cigarette, the pen in the table is at the left of the paper). The gun is in the right hand

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly if it was a suicide and there's a note it means it was thought out. Make sure the job is done. So the gun is in the wrong hand.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's trying to plan the perfect crime by getting everyone's input and detail.. i see you

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

A stool that tall? The blood should be higher on the wall. Clearly a staged suicide that was actually a homicide. Boom, you've been Poirot'd

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

murder. hand is still holding the gun. hand and gun are underneath a shelf. stool tipped over.flip flops are not together.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wine bottle in the bin. Gun is novelty cigarette lighter. Standing on the stool in one shoe, drunk; slipped off, smashed head against wall.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

im really interested in this, you got any more? @op

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No I'm sorry. The group is mostly murder videos and pics, everyone just likes it when this pops up :-)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn, this was a neat little puzzle, a bit disappointed there's no definite answer though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah it's a cool one!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@Op is there anything else similar to this? It's super neat; wouldn't mind trying to puzzle out some others.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh thank you! That's actually the only puzzle I've seen as far as this kind of thing goes but I'll try to fine more :-)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty clearly murder. The Pixar lamp staged the scene.

9 years ago | Likes 149 Dislikes 4

Murder gun is in wrong hand

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think we're on to something here. I mean the thing isn't even plugged in!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's exactly what I was looking at too. It's made to look like she was reading.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Murder. Bullet casing on shelf next to lamp it would have been ejected out towards the room based on the direction she was sitting

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That's what I thought, too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Old age. It's a bitch.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Murder. You'd drop the gun after you shot yourself.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

v

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Unlikely to turn around before being shot so gun would be in the wrong hand. Also why wouldn't you finish your smoke first

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Am I the only one who finds it odd that there is only one sandal?

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Had to scroll a while to find you. I thought the same thing

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Potentially, but she also may not have been wearing them at time of death, and it's just a bit of clutter.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not at all, in this I think all the little things like that are meant to give clues either way

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nope. I also think that clothing indicate a warm clomate and wearing sandals would leave a mark like tanlines or dirty feet.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everything is a hint, only one sandal points towards the other getting lost when the body was moved from another location

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Body placement relative to the stool tipped over is odd.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's hard to say. Body could of moved the stool as it fell to the floor.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea the blood splatter isn't consistent with which hand the gun is in.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it was suicide, she was facing away from the desk, would explain the blood & body angle, but not how the shell casing ended on the desk

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I think the "shell casing" by the lamp is the lighter used to light the cigarette.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bodies tend to fall forward or backwards due to weight placement, not sideways. Also, the area of blood splatter would be greater in the 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

case of suicide, as there's a greater exit force than there is at a distance. This, among other things, points to murder.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Murder. Cigarette and gun still in hand. Limp bodies usually fall forward. Blood splatter in wrong direction. Plus other reasons.

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 3

The gun is in her right hand if she shot herself there would be a small blood splatter on the wall and the stool would have fallen other way

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it seems unnatural that she hold the cigarette in her hand while offing herself, even so, would it stay between her fingers after...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... falling to the ground? That seems unlikely. Looks staged...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Her body fell like she was facing away from the desk. Suicide.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Regardless, bodies tend to fall forward due to weight placement. This indicates she fell sideways, so it's wrong all together.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not really, her feet are still facing towards the desk so unless she spun around as she fell its highly unlikely

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Her feet are clearly facing away from the desk.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lit cigarette, gun in right hand (pen position indicates left handed), also women rarely choose violent means of suicide.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Ashtray is on the left side of the note/pen. So that's the hand she used to smoke. She probably wrote with her right hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She was probably holding the gun as she was writing, and as a lefty, I often switch hands for firearms/weapons, no answer for cig bc I'm not

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A smoker.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When doing a more demanding task, like writing, it's not uncommon for smokers to use their less dominant hand to smoke

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't know... looks like natural death to me

9 years ago | Likes 792 Dislikes 4

If my explanation is wrong I'll change my story and support your version

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Idk the real killer here seems to be that cigarette

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it's murder, she's left handed, cigarete on left hand, pen on left side of the paper + lamp on the right.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She was a smoker, so most likely lung cancer. Case closed.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

read the comment, then the username....laughed for 15 minutes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah she was gettin' pretty old.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've had it with this place!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Da, comrade. Da.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a crime scene specialist, there's no way this was a natural death. Most likely it's the smoking that killed her.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

That lamp is looking a little shady to me.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Clinton?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

dying from a bullet to the head is quite natural, so it is a natural death.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its perfectly natural to die from a shot to the head

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it was a "heart attack", just don't question the quotation marks around "heart attack"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Always upvote papa

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You know poppa's got yo back!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It could have been an accident. The blood splatter looks more like an impact wound than a gun shot

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

username checks out

9 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

I wish your user name was "usernamechecker". Then we'd be checking out two levels deep. And I think that would be cool.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Am I close enough?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, that'll do. This is what I love about imgur. You ask, you get it. It has everything!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The lamp isn't plugged in.

9 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 0

And it appears to be night time, but hard to tell.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Could've come unplugged as she fell. Gun could've caught on the cord or something.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Could have been unplugged during the fall

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, gun in the right hand, it's not impossible, but unlikely she turned around on the stool after writing to shoot her self

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

murder, nobody commits suicide and leaves their flip flop out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the perfect gif for this situation. Well played.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So? I have 2 unplugged lamps in my room right now

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How often do you write a note in the dark? I think that's the overall point we're trying to make

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The room seems pretty lit to me...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Now that I think about it I've been doing my homework in the dark

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Murder. She is not in the kitchen, so the body must have been put there by the killer.

Hahaha. Yes.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yooooooooooooooooooo hahaha

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Best evidence for murder yet lol

9 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 1

The direction of the blood splatter assuming she was facing the room sitting on stool at ToD suggest the shot came from a more forward angle

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It also suggests she was in fact not on the stool at all but rather leaning onthe counter by the mirror while taking a drag.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a british spy targeted by trumps gestapo she draws her gun from her waistband as the intruder is entering the room. Too slow on the draw.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not proven, nothing in picture indicates that she was in the kitchen, unless we are going to the stereo of women belong in kitchens,no doubt

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

No doubt it's murder though

Why is this not top comment

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not so sure that it's a she. No boobs. Can't confirm by face. Men in late 80's and early 90's could be mistaken for women based on dress

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is too much for me. Looks like a case for the Hardly boys. Two young whipper snappers with a knack for solving mysteries.

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

Bravo.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I almost shot clue goo all over Joe

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Oooh I've got a raging clue!

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Here's my deduction: I swear, it gets like, sorta breathe-a-little-bit-harder-out-your-nose-than-regularly

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So no one really wants to read it? The one time I do something besides being an asshole lol

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it's not that we don't want to. I actually can't see it. The pic is too small.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nah man, just open in a new tab or zoom

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wowza! I came to compliment your username but stayed to thank you for putting such time and thought into it!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why thank you, I am quite proud of my username.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also where is the lighter and how did the shell casing wind up on the desk. If she wasn't facing the desk it would be on the floor.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmm, keen observations. I didn't notice the casing and I didn't think of the lighter

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Left handed due to the pen, gun in right hand is strange

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 6

I'm lefty but have to shoot righty.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm left handed but I shoot with my right. Otherwise the safety is on the wrong side.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm right-handed. I set pens and pencils down on the left side of the paper. In terms of wrist movement, easier to pick up that way.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Smokes, ashtray, drink are also all on the left. Very likely left handed. Also if you shoot yourself in the head I assume you'd drop or 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

crush a cigarette that you had in your other hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ash tray is on the left. If she's a lefty, she'd be reaching across her work every time she needed to ash. Or take a drink, for that matter.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or she uses her left hand to smoke while she is writing with her right hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly, so she's not a lefty. Which means the gun is in the correct hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which means, if it were a suicide, she'd have to be facing away from her desk... the question is how to determine that

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is fun

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Her butt/legs are facing the right way for her to have been sitting facing away form the desk at least but she could have been positioned...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Paper is facing right handed

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Ambidextrous?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Blood splatter would suggest the bullet was shot through the head from left to right. Gun in the right hand would not allow for that angle

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

From the angle she fell at, she was facing away from the desk, so the bullet was shot from her right to her left.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Unless she fell backwards of the stool

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn you're right

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would say murder. I think she is left handed - the can of coke is to the left, and people tend to pick up drinks with their dominant (1/?)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

hand. Additionally, the lamp, despite being unplugged, is on the right side, and most people will put their light source on the (2/?)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

opposite side of their writing hand. Since the paper is shifted to the right, indicating someone was writing with their right hand, (3/?)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I take it that the murder wrote a fake suicide note. The blood splatter is not standing height, which means she was sitting when she (4/?)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

was shot. It is unlikely she turned around to face the room before shooting herself (why would she?). She is also still holding her (5/?)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

cigarette between two fingers, unlikely is stays there when she shoots herself. The stool also is unlikely to fall in that manner (6/?)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People keep saying the pen shows her as a Lefty, but try setting a pen down after writing something. Shes a Righty.

9 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

Unless the killer wrote the note

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True. I guess i should say whoever wrote the note appears right handed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah my pens end up literally anywhere within arm's reach of me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd argue she is a lefty and the note was written by the right handed killer

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't disagree. I should have specified whoever wrote the note was right handed if not her.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gotcha! So do you think murder or suicide?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure. I think people are reading to much into which hand. The unplugged lamp is interesting, as well as the hands still holding things..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure. I see reasonable explanations on both sides. But stated elsewhere, there is no real answer.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, but these are more fun when you pick a side and dig for evidence :P

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is a combination of the pen, position of the ash tray, and people generally smoke with their dominant hand, which is in her left hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The pen shows righthandedness though. Is it more likely she wrote with her off hand or smoked with it? Or is it a murder?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look at the blood spatter, she was shot on the left side of her head when she was sitting on the stool. Gun is in the wrong hand, murder.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not that I'm saying murder or suicide, but if she was facing away from the desk when shot everything lines up still.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lamp is on the right of the paper, right handed writing would be shadowed, left handed would make more sense

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

for me the only main thing is the lamp. everything else is fine but the lamp shows she is a lefty

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just looked at my notebook and my pen is on the left hand side of it. I'm a righty. That was unexpected.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

If she's a lefty and writes with her left hand, why would the ashtray be to her left as well? She'd have to reach across her work to ash.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah makes sense. I'm agreeing, was just saying I hadn't expected my pen to be to the left of my pad haha

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but what about the ashtray? It's on the left. Is it the same? Idk, I'm a lefty and smoker and never put the ashtray on the right.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm a righty, but i smoke with me left hand. Its a habit i got from driving a car and ashing out the window.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i changed countries and the driving side flipped... it turned me into an ambidextrous smoker.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The gun is in her right hand. If she shot herself in the head with that hand then the blood splatter is on the wrong side.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But the body could be facing the other direction cuz look how the body fell anyway

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not if she was facing away from the desk. The way the body fell seems to indicate that she was.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's true. But why turn around after writing a note?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't know. If it was a suicide, mental instability kind of makes all questions like this impossible to answer for sure.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look at the sandal if they were sitting the other way it will be under the desk. But I guess withour the other no way to confirm.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Turning or not isn't enough to call it a murder though. She could have turned to make sure she didnt slump onto the note and bleed on it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it's murder. is there a correct answer, @OP, or is it just meant to get you thinking?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh it's definitely more of just a puzzle kinda to get you thinking :-)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've actually taken a forensic science course that used an expanded version of this exact scenario. There's very definitely a right answer.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well then, was I right? Was it murder? I'm guessing by unplugged lamp/unfinished cig/fresh flowers/toppled stool.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While I can't vouch for this specific picture, in the expanded scenario our teacher gave us, it was a murder. Supporting details were 1/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that most signs pointed to the victim being left handed, while the gun was wielded in her right hand, recently lit cigarette, and some 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is there a correct answer? I'd say murder because the gun is in the wrong hand, the cigarette is unfinished, the note could be anything

9 years ago | Likes 475 Dislikes 13

Plus the gun is still in the hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My guess is murder. Shes left handed but guns in right. Blood splat is from her left side. Plant is healthy, etc.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'd say suicide judging by the way the body is laying they had their back to the note. The pile of cigarettes indicates depression my guess

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And her other shoe is missing, which might mean she was moved

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Either murdered for a flip-flop, or suicide over the anguish of only having 1 flip-flop. only possibilities imo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think the letter was placed. The lamp is unplugged and if you look it's dark outside. Murder.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

You're missing a very important detail. The room is clearly well lit.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's because YOU turned on the light when you got there to figure it out ;)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All I have go on is what I see, and I see a light that is already on and lighting the entire room.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Suicide from the bottle in the trash bin, she could have decided to end it right then and there. She seems like an alcoholic.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What if they looked away from the window?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Blood splatter is right to left; therefore, she was leaning over the cabinet instead of the desk. Gun is in appropriate hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also blood on the side of the face meaning a bullet went from ledt to right instead of front to back.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

i dont think you can actually see the blood on her face

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Gun is in the wrong hand for the blood splatter and the victim is left handed (the ashtray, soda can and pen are on the left side).

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The twist in her body leads me to believe the turning and shooting was one motion

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The position of the body. Specifically legs suggest she wasn't facing the note which would explain gun in right hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also the chair does not look like it stood directly in front of the note before the fall. And if she turned around she probably would 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

have switched the cigarette to the other hand to keep it closer to the ashtray. A habit you get when you're a smoker.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

* if she turned around without being threatened by a gun.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Finger isnt in the trigger guard either

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The blood is too low on the wall too. Who squats over to blow their brains out

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Its just a drawning, not a photo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

She was leaning over the vase smelling the flowers her dead husband gave her for the last time. She closed her eyes and went to meet him.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lamp is plugged out. she could have ducked to plug it in and got shredded

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lamp is plugged out. she could have ducked to plug it in and got shredded

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She was sitting on the stool...

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Which at her height would have put her head well above the spatter. She would have been sitting on the ground, probably nearer the wall.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it happened to be a suicide, maybe....also it's a drawing..Not a real life to scale model.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just a fact of positioning of the head. Seems body had to be moved. If it's drawn inaccurately in 3D, then that throws a wrench in things.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's some forced perspective going on here. The desk isn't high enough to use if you look at it that way.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Splatter of blood on the wall doesn't have a wide enough radius

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Dexter?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you a forensics technician, or are you just trying to make up for that stupid comment you made earlier?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

They aren't wrong though. A close range shot like that would have a large area of splatter, as opposed to a distanced one. It's not suicide.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have been in a couple criminalistics classes, if it was suicide the gun would not be in the hand.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

but why take off your glasses if it wasn't suicide?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I wondered about that one. Could be only needed for writing the note, and taken off just like putting the pen down when done.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fair enough I could definitely see that possibility as well!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

interesting thoughts, didn't think much of the glasses

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

theyre next to a piece of paper, might only be reading glasses.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No I've never seen a definitive one given by the artist or anything, I think it's just the gore hound version of a 'puzzle'.

9 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 1

murder. its dark outside. to write a note you would need the lamp to be plugged in.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

search the room. if there is a novelty lighter that looks like a gun, idiotic suicide. if not, murder.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

looks like a murder to me..if she was in the stool when the gun banged, and thats the hand she used to pull the trigger, blood on wrong side

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Victim is left handed, ie location of pen, pop can, ash tray Gun is in right. Even if she fired with right, blood...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

splatter would not be on that wall. It is possible that victim was facing away from window but given the factor victim appears to be...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Female, it is highly unlikely a projectile weapons would have been used.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dont know if its because the drawing is missing in detail, but look closer at the gun. The fingers arent wrapped around the trigger.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Interesting observation, but that could easily have been caused by the recoil, or falling off the stool.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seems clearly murder. If she was sitting in the stool, how did blood get around the corner of window frame?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well there are strong indications though. pen on left (writer was a leftie) her gun is in the right hand (not her) ergo murder

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I write left handed and shoot right handed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

who else does that tho?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My sister burned her right hand badly as a child and learned most skills lefty. Writes left (learned early); shoots right (learned late).

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm right handed and shoot leftie. (Due to being left eye dominant)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

LH are far more likely to be ambidextrous. They grew up with those RH scissors in school that didn't cut a thing in your left hand. /grrrrr

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think it's directed towards murder.... The gun in the right hand doesn't coincide with the bloody splatter going left on the wall.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Unless they were facing away from the desk

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

also, pen is on the left side of the paper = high chance she's left handed

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But cigs and coke on left side too, usually those are used with the non dominant hand (write with right, drink/handle cig with left hand)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, the way the pen was put down suggests that she was right handed as well.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

look at her knees though. If she had been facing the desk when shot, her back would be facing us. Assuming she was facing out, gun is 1

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

2 in the correct hand

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not the main problem. The spatter is low or medium volocity, more consistent with beatings, and there's no bullet hole in the wall.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless they were facing away from the desk

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But the gun is in the right hand.

9 years ago | Likes 377 Dislikes 9

So wrong yet so Reich

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

lol

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't think in a real suicide the gun would be in the hand at all

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's left handed though. Look at the pen. Plus the blood would be on the left not the right logically.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

those shorts and you think its a guy?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guys guys...the guy said it's in the wrong hand. I said it's in the right hand. Come on...it was a joke

9 years ago | Likes 192 Dislikes 6

Username is relevant right now

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That'll teach you to make puns!!!!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also, if she shot herself with that hand facing the note, the blood wouldn't be on the wall, it would have splattered the other direcion

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

depends on how they were sitting, were they facing the lamp/window, or sitting with their back to the blood splatter?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You can tell by the pen on the table that the person is most likely a lefty. Person would shoot themselves with their dominant hand

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I'm a righty and that's how I place my pen

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Maybe more centered on the page but Same direction

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im a lefty but i shoot right.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But if you set them up in the stool, the pen is then on their right side, indicating they would be right handed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm referring to it being on the left side of the paper, I assume that's where they were using the pen

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, but if the other stuff is set up so the left hand can use it, you're more naturally going to place the pen in the middle of your body

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

She also has a cigarette in her left hand, which suggests left dominance. And she most likely wouldn't be smoking while she shot the gun.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Smoked for about 15 years. I would smoke with my left hand when my dominate hand was busy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Current smoker. I'd finish my cigarette before shooting my self.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She? did you just assume gender?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look at the desk every thing is on the left side of the paper

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 3

I believe he meant the literal right hand..

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I did. Lol

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Could be prefence towards the cigarette.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Paper is positioned for a right handed person, lamp over the shoulder to write too. It makes sense for the cigs to be where the left hand is

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The blood spot indicates that she should have been back to the paper when shooting w/ gun in right hand. The spot is at chest level 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Finish the note, turn around and shoot yourself. If you get blood on the note, what's the point of the note?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So she must be sitting at that moment. We don't see where the initial impact is on her head precisely but it looks like it's on the left

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right hand writes, left hand handles cigarette duty.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If they were sitting on the chair and used the right hand the blood wouldn't be splattered on the wall to the right

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's no requirement for them to be facing the note when they pull the trigger.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My theory is that, if this were suicide, she turned around before taking the shot. The way she fell says the same thing.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

unless she turned around on the stool to say something to someone, then shot herself..

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

You can't just call the right hand the wrong hand nowadays. You bigot.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Correct answer is suicide. She was facing away from the note when she pulled the trigger, so it is not in the wrong hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

murder because the person is obviously left handed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

How do you know she's left handed

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

desk is set up for a left handed person

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why in the wrong hand? She seems to me to have been facing away from the desk. Otherwise she would have fallen differently.

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 4

There appears to be a spent case on the right (near the lamp). If she shot herself it'd be on the left.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because the blood splatter is also to the right, she would have to be shot from the left side.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, if they were facing towards the desk but re-read the guys comment

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look at the desk every thing from the pen to the coke is on the left side indicating that she is left handed

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

The cigarettes are on the left and there is a cigarette in the left hand. Its not like you need your dominant hand to pull a trigger 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But the ash tray and coke are on the left of the paper and glasses which would indicate she was right handed

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Most people unconsciously drink and smoke with their dominant hand. If she was right handed, they would be on the right

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could be ambidextrous

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The more I think about it the more sense it's starting to make. The dark window would've acted as a mirror. I would've turned away to (1)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

avoid looking myself in the eyes. Also if it's a suicide note on the table turning away could be a symbolic act of leaving it all behind.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe it was a message about the tyranny of righty's and the oppression faced by lefty's?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She used her right hand to show that she was driven to this end by our right-handed culture!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a lefty, she would have a hard time writing with the paper at that angle.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But she is in a position that would indicate falling while facing away from the desk

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But you might need your dominant hand to pull a drag from a cigarette in a hand trembling with nerves. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The paper and glasses are positioned as a right handed person would leave them if they were facing the desk. Left handed would have left 1/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

the paper tilted to the right as that is the direction required to write leftie. Glasses would have been at the same angle as the paper 2/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

on the left side of the note

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Suicide. Took off glasses, lit a last cigarette, turned to face away from the desk, killed self. I'm a lefty. That's how I'd do it.

9 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 7

"That's how id do it"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The pen on the paper is on the left hand side facing the paper. Implying that she is left handed. However the gun is in the right hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the soda and the rest of the cigs are on the left hand side.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know, I think if I was about to off myself, I'd actually fold the glasses closed. Just seems tidier and more final.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weirdly a lot of people who drown themselves in the sea fold their clothes first.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know, I think if I was about to off myself, I'd actually fold the glasses closed. Just seems tidier and more final.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think you can only lean one direction or the other. There are too many small oddities to make it 100% certain either way.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

-->I'd lean towards suicide, but still check for handwriting discrepancies, gunpowder residue on the hand. I think that would help some.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well yes, if you could do even a brief check of the scene you'd have a better idea. Has the gun even been fired? Which side is the wound on?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know, I know, it sort of defeats the purpose of the puzzle. But if you were unable to check the scene like that, it'd be a wash.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Murder. Was writing, saw someone outside, locked window, grabbed gun hidden behind books, got shot, fell, knocks over stool and unplugs lamp

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Foresaw their murder and kept hold of their cigarette while locking the window and fetching their gun?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She locked the window, grabbed the gun, lit a fresh cigarette and stood against the wall facing the door. Only one way in, safer to stay put

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too tall to have left that mark while standing, centre of gravity is too far from the wall to have fallen while against it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Occams razor. why face away from the desk? unnecessary step. also, probably a righty(position of items on said desk)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

only useful Thing on left side is the pen. but its on the same side as all the cigs. purportedly smoked while writing

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Everything is on the left. Ash tray, drink, pen, cig in hand. Gun is in the right but splatter indicates shot from left, so it was planted

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cig in left hand, so glasses taken off with the right (also an unnecessary step, but one that has been taken)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that type of placement is really unnatural for right handed smokers. 2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah the cigs ashtray, and drink are both on the left side of the letter, if this person were right handed they would have to reach across

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

holy shit... do people who are not ambidextrous really do anything with one hand? what a mess. :D

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean we do stuff with both hands... but basically if it requires putting something in your mouth you do it with the dominant hand 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I.e. eating, smoking, drinking, brushing teeth... all dominant hand 2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here's a silly question. Where is the lighter?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Under the lamp

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought that was the shell casing.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but then you wouldnt shoot with your right hand. pen on the left (whoever wrote the note was a leftie) but the gun is in the right hand(1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so either she is a leftie and woul've shot with her left hand or the murderer who wrote a fake note was a leftie. murder

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did just say I'm left handed. Easier to hold a cigarette with my more dexterous hand and fire the gun with the other. Not like I'd miss...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The blood splatter is on the right from where she was sitting and the gun is in the right hand. Also blood from the right side of head.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Therefore murder because its hard to shoot yourself in the left side of your head with the gun in the right hand.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only if she was facing the desk when shot. If she was facing away, which her body position indicates, then the hand/splatter make sense

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but, wouldn't you finish your cigarette? btw, are you a smoker?

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

I do smoke yes. And if you're going to kill yourself waiting until you've finished your cigarette seems a little trivial.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Trivial, but in suicide it's completing an act. So it would be speculated that they wood finish the coke and cig before the task.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Coke can could easily be an empty, trash can looks pretty full. I agree, would definitely finish the smoke, or take a drag and stub it out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope, you'd save the rest for later.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

She must be really attached to that cigarette for holding on to it after shooting herself.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

even the gun imo...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cigarette's not burning though. It's been extinguished. It should've burnt down to the ashes.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But people who wear glasses would naturally face the arms of the glasses towards the face, not away

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I tend to take mine off and put them upside down, arms facing away. More natural movement twisting my wrist out rather than in.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you're very emotional about something, distraught, you may just toss them on to the desk.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can confirm. Source: Have done this myself, though for me the arms would be upside down due to how I take them off.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also lefty, would hold gun in left hand, not in right hand

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Also also lefty. Would hold gun in right hand.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But the gun is in her right hand, and the bullet/blood went right - when you hold a gun to your head, it points the other way.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Facing away from the desk the bullet goes to the viewer's right if held in the person's right hand.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why would she turn around?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's the only way they could have shot themselves with the gun in the right hand and they wouldn't have fallen that way otherwise.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They could have shot themselves with the gun in their right hand, facing the desk - the bullet and blood would go left not on the wall (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2/2) and then they could've fallen out of their stool the other way. You don't necessarily fall the same way as the bullet went.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Murder. Both the cigarette and the gun are in the wrong hands for it to make sense.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

2 means the gun and cigarette are in the correct hands

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only if you assume she was facing the desk, but her back would be facing us in that case. She was shot while facing away from it, which 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please explain. Cigarette is in left hand, which is where the ash tray is on the desk.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The gun is in the right hand. Now look at the blood spatter.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, if you're sitting away from the desk (unnatural I admit) you would hold it in your right hand (pointing through your head at the wall)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and as we know from JFK, more comes out the back side than the side the bullet goes in to.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
