These are the 3 presenters of the old Top Gear, right? Jeremy Clarkson, the hamster and the grey one?

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 3

You cant do anything with your old costumes that arent relevant buy wipe your tears with them, I can still play with my old video games

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought from the thumbnail this was a screen grab from one of the MadTV "Stewart" sketches.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are those guys or girls?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 16

Idk why you're being downvoted. I can't tell either

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Are they girls or guys? I can't tell.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Are these dudes?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 9

So, my initial reaction was: lol, why, did you think they were girls? Then I scrolled back up and holy crap I think they might be girls...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 8

I spend roughly $100 to $500 per cosplay. It's an expensive hobby, but I love it.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Bought a 3D printer thinking my costs would go down? Nope. Now I spend even more but my standards went from "close enough" to screen accurat

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Han Solo costume: $150 at least. Now it will be worn 5 times a year for 30 years

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is the middle one a girl?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

There are three kind of guys...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Sorry mobile users,

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Who's that guy in the middle?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

People waste a bunch of money on things they dont need and have no reusable value

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Very true. But it makes them happy, no? Anything that enriches your happiness or well-being is not wasted, in my opinion.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Thats why eveyone has an opinion, in the end people who waste their money in things that made them happy complain they have no money

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then a group of the same people start spreading that there is something wrong that made them not have money and it was always them

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good think I'm fat. I can't cosplay.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

You do you Glenn Coco

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Roadhog from Overwatch friendo, yw.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Says you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I said that once at Acen and people immediately named off over a dozen fat characters I could cosplay.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Saw a ton of plus sized cosplayers at ACEN'17 and many looked amazing. Tons of detailed armor and swishy cloaks.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sure you can

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That doesnt stop half the people who cosplay.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Including Sailor literal Moon.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It isn't the fat that stops me. It's self-awareness.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I just hit an eight of a ton and I'm thinking I need to change my life.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Keto is a great way to lose a large amount of weight without being too restrictive on food. If you can give up sugar and starch that is.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But... Potatoes and bread are delicious...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Go for it brother, this internet random believes you can do it

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You could always go as the Blob.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How the fuck is a Sailor Moon cosplay that expensive?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Assuming its not hand made and you just bought everything, about $79, unless its really cheap stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Made a solaire cosplay, its not even that high quality, and its running me in excess of 120$

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

P sure that at least wig, gloves and boots would be at least 80% of the price, some cosplayers even resell wigs cause of that

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Foam or worbla (plus paint/primers) for the detailing is fucking expensive. A good $20 for a 1x1 sheet at least

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cheapest wig that'll work for an upcoming project just cost me $40. And its not even long or that complicated. Less than $20 and You'll

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Need $10-$20 in equiptment to style it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, honey... if you're making it on your own, materials: $32/Cotton lycra, $56/Duchess satin, $20-40/wig, $20ish/shoes, if you're not 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

2/2 making your own props, $20/tiara, $10/earrings, depending on character.. $10-30/brooch&hair pieces, up to $70 for weapon props.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Average is around $250 to 300. Don't get me started on Assassin's Creed costumes.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's not a lot of money for a modern teenage girl though. Their phones cost 3x that, minimum. They pay that for a Salon hairdo.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Cosplay is mainly adults with kids or college age adults now. My last costume ran about $225 for a flamenco dress and I have 2 kids.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

God no we don't. What do you think we are, made of money? Cosplay runs me dead dry even with me doing all the actual crafting

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a furry, im not used to $300 being considered as expensive for cosplay. Fursuits are expensive as fuck, $400 minimum for a partial 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Suit and $1000 minimum for a full suit (assuming you are commisioning it), there is no real set price for homemade fursuits.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Cosplay is not for the faint of heart, or light of wallet.

8 years ago | Likes 722 Dislikes 4

Lowcost Cosplay. Look for it on imgur.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

people who cosplay are crazy you Know how many treats you could get instead

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Way back in the day I used to cosplay at BayCon. And yeah, I probably spent too much on costumes.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And the SCA's just like "That's cute"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who designed and got custom fabric printed for my last cosplay....yeah. It is not a cheap hobby.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What/who were you?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Padme from Ep 2. I recreated her lake dress for a Star Wars themed con in September.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

its atleast going to be 100 dollars

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For the taxi fare and tickets to the convention where you'll show it off.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

well you're not wrong..

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or apprently small of breast

8 years ago | Likes 131 Dislikes 17

Flat is Justice! You still need to be hot tho

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

True if you want to become popular/famous, or get ANY recognition for your work.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

If you want to become mainstream famous, sure. If you're looking for recognition from the cosplay community, whole different ballgame.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fair. But Mainstream is where you need to go if you are trying to make any sort of income at all.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do medieval/renfests.... My garb collection is worth a fortune or nothing depending on who you ask.

8 years ago | Likes 235 Dislikes 0

If it's resellable to people like yourself, it's worth something. If not, worthless.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Bf and I do ren faires. He and I make everything by hand, my outfit is probably about 350 plus time spent, his is closer to 500

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you got robbed in a dark alley while wearing your gear, would you fight or tell them it's worth nothing?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Cost != worth, sorry buddy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Depends on what it is, and who it's catering to. Garb for Medieval/Renaissance festivals retain their value for the most part if 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

they're not walmart specials. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel you. The amount I've spent on corsets alone... Yeesh. Next big project is some nicer boots.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wish I could commit to a big expensive outfit. I get distracted by novelty ideas and then blow the money I could have saved

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A properly made, complete Roman reenactment kit (not cheap Indian replicas) will run ~3500 USD+.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh man my full regalia is probably float to 600, maybe 700 dollars and im not even close to done yet.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seriously between SCA and belly dance I have more in garb/costumes than my car

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I own just one set of artfully handmade shoes in good leather, and I only use them for viking reenactment. Somehow this feels sensible.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Admittedly, viking gear seems cheaper than renfair clothes. The shoes are well made but plain, and _shoes_ not boots. Cost maybe $200?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can attest. I'm buying 500 dollar boots here next weekend for my garb

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

post photos!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've got custom ones I've been paying on for months! Worth every penny!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sandalar?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, sons of Sandlar.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not even close to having a full outfit... I've probably spent close to $250 and thus far all I have is a helmet and some nice bracers.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So it IS weird that I threw together a shop lookalike outfit in one day for $50? ... Bodice, shirt and skirts?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not at all! You start small and build on what you have!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha, to be fair I wasn't planning on a full suit when I started. Since it's a Crusader greathelm/buckethelm, I feel like it would look >

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

< absolutely absurd without full plate, which... $$$ haha. Maybe a tabard and chainmail wouldn't look bad. Bracers don't match either way.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know the feeling. Good boots aren't cheap and cheap boots aren't good.

8 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 0

Truer words have never been spoken! I learned that the best quick inexpensive fix for footwear is shoe wraps over sturdy non-period boots.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do renfests and am in a steampunk band. Trying to bite the bullet and get the $800 renfest boots

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

. The $90 ghillies look fine, but my feet hate them. Yes, spending the money on the boots is worth every dime!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Vending at Renfests, I was lucky I could write things off as a business expense. My normal garb (Pants/shirt/coat/boots/belt) is ~$2000.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm saving up for expensive ones as well. Adult stuff keeps getting in the way. Terrible.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Shoe covers mate! There are lots of great tutorials out there to save you monies but keep you looking period correct.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sandlars?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's where I got my boots and coat. Solid choice.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My Sandlars are the best addition to my costume

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve looked into them. We have a similar vendor at our home faire called Nativearth; I’ve tried their boots on and I like them.

But why is there a jar of peanutbutter?

There's a jar of peanu?... oh...oh no.
