Larry Huyhn calls out Tuberville for being the hateful asshole that he is. Tuberville had a chance to walk it back, but he doubled down. Full video: https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2023/07/11/tommy-tuberville-white-nationalists-military-ts-vpx.cnn

They don't care anymore. Trump kool-aid-manned the dam that kept their racist bullshit back and now it's just left to flow free because enough people open their arms to it. They don't know shame.

That’s sound of a Nazi. They bark nonsense but the message gets through loud and clear to the folks it is meant to.
SaintSleepyWeasel
I would not have been able to say... "NO, a white nationalist is a person who believes the white race is superior. That is the definition of the term."
Heelcat70
I wonder how his former players feel about his political positions?
elbowdeepinawhateverthatis
…I think he’s just fuckin’ dumb. Thinks a white nationalist is just a nationalist who happens to be white. And that a nationalist is just someone who loves their country. The ones who fly American flags and celebrate America loudly. Who tend to be overly white. That’s what he seems to think a white nationalist is. ‘Cause he’s fuckin’ dumb.
Dolenmorgul
Seems to me he doesn't know what "white nationalist" means, he thinks it means a white person who loves his nation and that sounds to me like you should stop voting idiots like this into governments
Freepour91
I want to believe that also. But he is a political figure with a team that has the opportunity to tell him " hey don't say those things" unless his pr team tells him "hey you should say those thing bc they get you votes"
threenotch23
The ONLY way to take the starch out of toobervillan is VOTING every time the polls open VOTE. Vote local state and federal elections every single time no excuses.
constellanation5
I think the biggest problem here is that Tommy is to stupid to know what he's saying. But also yeah he's probably racist.
solarshado
Yeah... pulling the quote out of context makes it sound a bit worse. But in context, it's clearly an attempt to weasel out of an actual direct answer, which is still pretty gross.
circlebreaker
@OP You're right, he did walk it back. The man understands that he would be alienating a significant number of his, and in general, Republican voters. The piece of shit can't afford to take a stand against white nationalists, he would have to cross the floor and sit with Democrats.
Freepour91
And that's the problem. He has to choose between radical racists or the possibility of being called a "woke liberal "
therealalansmithee
Wish she had asked him if he is a white nationalist

I love how everyone is mad about racism yet just today I’ve watched 2 subtle racist comments on here and it keeps happening almost daily. Some of you aren’t any better than Tuberville. You just hide it better.
kobrakaimf
You should delete your account and rethink…everything.
DidItForScience
If two random anonymous assholes on the Internet can be racist, then surely US federal government legislators shouldn't feel any shame for using bigoted rhetoric! Nor should you! Go ahead, tell us how you really feel!
mtraiders73
Oh no I’ve been downvoted by the usual hypocrites ha ha ha. What will I do?
waffleresidence
Where is the hypocrisy? You just said you saw more racism on a post about racism. Maybe if you link to it, people will downvote it? Idk but it’s odd you are just pointing out racism exists on a post that already shows that and denounced it.
IMakeLotsOfReferencesAndRemakes
Ah yes everything is evidence that you are right. /s
Perfectlynormalhumanbieng
So some random people made a racist comment on an open forum which all types of people use and now we can’t be mad at racism?

A. You didn't mention indigenous people in your original post. B. Subtle unsubstantiated comments on imgur aren't the same as a senator endorsing white nationalism
