well done OP.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We don't even know if your job is designing, making, or cleaning it, and we KNOW it's super time consuming.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What an awesome stairway design! OK I need a camera there, there and there! LET'S DO THIS SHIT!!!!!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a railing installer, damn

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I’m so glad people still do stuff like this in this mass produced world. Well done!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well done!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bahahaha he didnt even sweep the floor that well

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I used to draw curls like that on my school work

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a pretty amazing job @OP. You must have been deeply satisfied with how it turned out.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice. Worked for a company that made these, not usually so ornate though. Guy that did most of the bending was insanely good at it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are the exact doodles I’d make on my desk...so crazy to the same exact lines in metal! Awesome work!!!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you do your bollocks?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Worth the time I feel

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah I needed this picture. I tried describing this art to my tattoo artist and he seemed a bit confused. My heart still turned out nice tho

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

beautiful work though!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seems like such an unnecessary location for a handrail...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Quality scrollwork

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Who doesn't like a good railing

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

NICE!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jesus Christ. Your arms must be tired

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did you do the casting? Great work, just curious what all you did.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well scratch that, looked closer it's forged and welded not cast. Even more impressive.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn’t touch the top rail. That thing was crazy expensive though. Me and 2 other coworkers worked on the all the curved pieces inside.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You did a great job. I did some ironwork, even with factory-made elements it requires ALOT of labor. You're awesome!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this Disneyland?

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

That was my exact thought too!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The brass rail at the top definitely looks familiar...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No this is Patrick.

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

No it's becky

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The photo is from inside a workshop

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd love to see how you made this. Gorgeous work dude ?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hours and hours of working the forge. Entire shop was on this project.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im gonna grind it?

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

YOU GOTTA TRICK TO BOOST!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

it's: a) gorgeous b) not it compliance of the ADA c) something i'm ashamed about (see: b)

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

ADA's missing out.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does the ADA apply to domestic structures? Surely not everybody needs wheelchair ramps to their front doors and disabled toilets.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No just public places as not to be exclusionary.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neither of those sections of railings are installed yet, you can see some metal-bending machines upper-right, and there's no anchors yet.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One section is leaning up against the metal-edged workbench, and the "curved" section has excess sticking out to trim-to-fit railing onsite.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What about it violates the ADA? I mean, it isn't a ramp. Is it too narrow or something?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Unless there's something off with the perspective, yes. And that completely defeats the purpose of having an incline in the first place.

6 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 2

Looks like a workshop, so maybe not installed yet?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who is Ada, and why doesn’t she approve?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's a he.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't know if it's a permanent installation, but if yes, plenty of room to go left of railing.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's clearly not installed yet. Why would there be a railing in the middle of a flat shop floor

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah better make another ramp to the left of the existing ramp

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

How long?

6 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 3

6.5 inches but if I push the fat down it's closer to 8.5

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Don't sorry, you'll get 10 upvotes for this.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

About 5

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 months of forging, bending, cutting, welding, and tons of detailing before sending to powder coat

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That’s a rather personal question.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Also, how much? Genuinely interested whether one section of something like this costs $800 or $8000

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Closer to 8000 just the brass railing probably cost over 1000

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All of that would be done by hand so what you see in the picture probably £10,000+

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There’s a lot more than what’s in the picture. But all total is was over 6 figures USD

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's so fuckin ornate. +1

6 years ago | Likes 557 Dislikes 3

Well, which is it?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Ornate as fuck.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ka-ching!!!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

WTF YOU CALL MY MOMMA!?

6 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

Really fuckin classy shit right there!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's gonna suck dusting that.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

For what the customer spent on this, they can afford someone to clean it for them.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have an eye for such things? Would love a post with "easy to dust + pretty things". I too tend to forget the cleaning aspect of items :/

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ll make one and post it if you give me a week.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There. I've added one week to your life. Use it sparingly.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gentle reminder. Still interested if you have the time to compose a post @Avrune

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
