May as well forget it. People are generally too uneducated and dependent on others to do anything useful with truth.

As a TN resident I can't agree more

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They will have lots of them. Made of stone. About two feet tall, two feet wide, maybe 6 inches thick. Engraved with names and dates

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Covid isnt racist enough.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And when will that statue be torn down?

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Apparently never since it's apart of their history now.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're assuming it's going to have a discernible end.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

It's like herpes... it's forever.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or influenza, which we are still getting shots for, despite it being 100+ years since that pandemic happened.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They seem to be making sure get the virus will never die out…

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

how about also teaching critical virus theory to set the record straight

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Made in China !

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

There may not be anyone left to learn the history at this rate.

The South will rise again (in covid numbers)

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Ha! Jokes on you, with the way this is going, it’ll never be over

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Like herpes.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s oppressing people that don’t believe in covid…duhhh

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Missouri, Florida, and Texas (among others) over there fucking about and finding out.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The "pandemic" may be over but covid never left, it just mutated so hard due to negligence that it now is part of the flu rotation in many parts of the world. This isn't even the first time covid struck us, just the specific variant sars19. It's still shit af tho, I had covid 3 weeks ago and it fucked me up for 2 weeks.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't forget that vaccinated people can also get covid.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, who'd want statues erected to unpleasant historical events.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So like plague columns? Just be honest, US wants those sweet statues we got in Europe

Thanks!

Shoulda moved Bill “Bojangles” Robinson from Jackson Ward and put him up there

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It is on pace to last longer than the confederacy .

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Easily.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At this rate it will kill significantly more Americans than the Civil War.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Pretty much there. 620,000 CW deaths, 624,000 covid deaths and counting.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fortunately for the GOP as far as they're concerned COVID has barely killed more people than the flu. See, you just have to never admit it!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To be fair, those people really struggle to count higher than however many fingers they have left.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sadly it's not just the south. It's every state

4 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 7

It's mainly rural/small-town USA

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Washington state is at 70% vaccinated, my friend.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think CA and NY are the top 2 states for deaths

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean, they are the most densely populated and were hit first. Then there's places like south Dakota and Tennessee

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not really. Oregon has and is doing very well

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 11

About the only thing we've done right lately... anarchists, arsonists, homeless camps.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh we are fools medal winners there but our covid rate has been about as good as you’re going to get

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Very true. Every state has a Redneckistan.

4 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 5

Can there be a map?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

first result when googling "us map imgur" but I think it answers your question pretty well too.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most them claim to hate cities, but they visit. We know this.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Covid didn't surrender, and has in fact adapted more in the last year than the south seems to have in 150.

4 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

It may last longer than the confederacy as well

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Oh, I don't think there's any doubt. Anti-maskers are more stubborn than southerners.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The US south has 100 million people and is one of most diverse place in the country.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sure it is.

You're making the assumption of thinking I care. Do you know how jokes work...?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because of unvaccinated people, COVID is gonna end up being around longer than the confederacy too.

4 years ago | Likes 178 Dislikes 7

COVID will not be eradicated for a long, long time.

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

nazis and confederates werent fully eradicated either. just their power and numbers reduced.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The UK officially expects another 60-150k new deaths because of abandoning covid-19 precautions

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

As long as they're all tories....

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably underestimated

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Forever. It's already effectively endemic. https://www.gavi.org/vaccineswork/covid-19-effectively-already-endemic

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Question. Why didn't this happen with SARS-CoV-1?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Testing and quarantines. As far as I remember, 1 was most infectious when one already showed serious symptoms, so very easy to spot.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Which is awkward for countries that have been eliminating it, as people keep bringing it back in.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just as a heads up its a corona virus which is a type that constantly mutates. It will behave in a similar way to influenza in that it....

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Most prevalent variant. Similar to how we vaccine for one type of flu but others are constantly around. No amount of vaccines will change...

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That, its part of the biosphere and here to stay. Best we can do is adapt where we can. But its not the unvaccinated peoples fault that it..

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Will stay around. They certainly can't influence viral mutations across the world. While its easy to blame others for the unfair reality...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, to be fair, they won't put up statues to it unless it loses. So it will be a while.

I scrolled back only to upvote. Well said.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

imma piss myself laughing if the pandemic lasts longer than the confederacy

4 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

it will. with mutations and playing partisan politics with healthcare

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I won't be surprised. We're almost halfway there if you count from late 2019.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I thought you said it would be "a white." I guess that would have worked too.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

oh they’re losing, that’s for sure!

4 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but they're losing to it, which makes it more like the Union than the Confederacy.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

So you're saying whatever's left of Florida will erect a statue of DeSantis to celebrate their "victory" against northern covid aggression?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Trump, Raphael Cruz, Turtleman, Boebidiot...probably some rando QAnon bs...wouldn't put it past them to erect statues in honor of all of it.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We're approaching the number of deaths in the Civil War, too:

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

We passed 620k deaths not too long ago

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Worldometer has us at 624k, but CDC says 606k:
