Morning water with some lime juice

Morning constitutional. Vomit pink hallway bathroom. Master bath is more of a pep-to pink. Gotta love the ‘60s

Crackdog wants to go back outside!

Two scrambled eggs with some salt and Adobo seasoning. I like making patterns with the empty spots in the egg carton.

Lady grey tea is my favorite way to caffeinate. Remainder of my breakfast is gouda cheese with 2 slices of bacon.

Packing food for the day: Snack #1 is brie and pecans. Lunch is a grilled chicken thigh with green beans and broccoli. Snack #2 is baby carrots, cucumbers and kalamata olives.

Planning my work day. I’m an inspector. These are the locations I haven’t inspected in my area. Bottom left is where I’m headed today. Small town called Monticello.

Welcome to my office. My days starts whenever I get working in the morning, but between 7 and 9. Today, I was a behind (I blame taking pictures) and started at 8:30.

My kitchen.

My microwave. This thing is a life saver! I can’t stand eating a cold lunch everyday. It takes a little over an hour to heat up a meal from refrigerated. Not sure about how long from frozen.

Getting my audio book going. Lots of driving = I need something for my brain. I switch between audiobooks and podcasts. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Typical view for 3-5 hours of my work day. Today, I drove around 230 miles. Over a month I’ll drive between 3-4,000 miles.

Pit stop #1 to dispose of my morning tea and stretch my legs. A lap or 2 around the Evil Empire is ~1,500 steps.

Got to my 1st location for the day and noticed GA State Patrol about to fuck up someone’s day. Stay safe ladies and gentlemen and wear your vest.

Pardon the shitty pic, and the chicken scratch handwriting. Did a mini audit (of a location I received a complaint on in a different city) on a scratch sheet of paper which happened to have work relevant info printed on the back. Stores have to make more in Gross Retail than their 46% of Gross Game revenue. This particular store is on my naughty list. November’s reporting isn’t due yet which is why it’s blank.

Grabbed my camera and stretched my legs. Gorgeous courthouse and monument.

Some Christmas decorations.

Historic Church with some Christmas color.

Walked a few blocked and snapped houses decorations.

Walk around town ~ 1,500 more steps.

Drove some more and pulled over to snap some more pictures. Lake Oconee

Sun through the tree. I’ll not even call myself an Amateur photographer. Beginning to understand a very small portion of what it takes to make an amazing photograph. Gotta start somewhere.

Sometimes a lady has to pee in the woods. There aren’t any great places to stop between Monticello and my next location. “P-Style” is something every girl should have. Because squatting in the woods means this girl pees on her shoes.

Lunch break while writing reports then stretches my legs for a bit before making the drive back.

Work requires a token random security code plus a personal code to access the database offsite.

Returned some library books. Husband and I are looking to retire sooner rather than later. We have one rental and are looking to buy another as soon as it meets all the requirements.

Beautiful church. Trees are finally allowing enough of a view to capture all its splendor.

Back home at the end of the workday. Crackdog getting some exercise after a hard day of laying around. Disc golf basket in the backyard. Highly recommend the sport. Pretty low investment to start playing and really rewarding.

Spoiled

Rotten. Ginger aka Crackdog tax.

(I like to pay my taxes early)

I also don’t know how to edit the order ????????‍♀️

My drunk azaleas deciding to bloom in December.

Camellia trees are starting to bloom! I adore all the camellia trees planted here. They are pretty old and all different colors. Very nice having color around the house in the dead of winter.

A few Cannas hanging on. I asked my Daddy for a few bulbs earlier in the year. He loves flowers, has hundreds and hundreds of them on the farm. He gave me 35 bulbs!!

Supper time. Smoked bacon wrapped pork tenderloin stuffed with spinach and cream cheese. Delicious! Husband said the recipe is a keeper. Water with some salt and lime.

Our fridge. I like to do bulk meal prepping on the weekend. Makes it easier throughout the week. With as much driving as I do for work, it is impossible to eat healthy without meal prepping!

Last but not least, my drunk kumquat. My 30th Birthday present lovingly planted by the husband. I didn’t prune it last year, and it is very, very drunk with fruit right now!

The husband works really long days. He left at 6am and will be back in about an hour. Tonight is LEG DAY! My favorite! Specifically, Quads and Glutes. I do 2 leg days a week because if I cram in all in one workout, I’m useless the day after. Tonights lineup: kickbacks, box squats, curls + extensions, adductor, and then single leg presses until I can’t see or walk straight.

Edit: A few frequent question

1. What my occupation is? The company I work for is somewhat controversial, I hesitate to say anything too specific about the industry due to liking my job and not wanting to fuck it up. It required several years in an law enforcement type field with investigation experience and familiarity with basic finance and accounting knowledge.

2. Recipe sauce ruled.me/bacon-wrapped-stuffed-pork-tenderloin/

3. The pint glass. Got it at Dragoncon back in September. It was at a booth, and I wish I could provide the vendor name.

I have to do the same thing with the eggs

Monticello you say? Hey from Pine River.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is really interesting! Thanks for sharing an average day! Also, you drink your water with lime juice??

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Water is boring. I add lime juice, some flavored amino acids, etc... Otherwise I’m perpetually dehydrated.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

you don't mix your egg batter first? wtf man

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I dislike egg yolks. Mixing is the only way I can get them down.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for sharing your day! The microwave bag sounds interesting, I have never heard of such magic!

David Weber's Safehold series is good. John Ringo's Troy Rising books are good. Larry Corriea's Monster Hunter International Series.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah. Thank you!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So is your bacon pork tenderloin recipe a secret? I'd really like to learn that one if you don't mind.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It finally worked. Tried sending it twice yesterday and couldn’t get a link to post. I’m still a newb user vs long time lurker

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Read the first two words as "Shit Lord".

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Oh dear. That’d be a dreadful way to wake up

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

stupid question but I couldn't quite read the bottom line. what does it say?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I liked this, but I don’t know why? +1

8 years ago | Likes 139 Dislikes 1

I'm not sure why you did either..? +1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a nice mixture of interest and profession, and it's not all fast paced and over the top.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

I'm pretty sure that you liked it because of the P-style picture

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Podcast recommendation: "My dad wrote a porno". Perfect for when you're driving around alone, as it definitely warrants a mature warning.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No worries :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm confused as to what you do, some form of auditing?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Of a sort. Added a description. Sorry it is vague.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can you please explain exactly what auditing Walmarts for a living is all about? I'm not clear in what job this actually is. Or why it is.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Didn’t audit Walmart. I pee’d in their restroom. Haha

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Risk"is an addictive, very adult, no subject is taboo, podcast I've been enjoying on my commute. Sawbones is another.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Doot

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The after disaster - great podcast

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't really understand your star wars glass, but I like that it says Nerf herder

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s for a stout drink. Suggesting you level down until you reach Nerf herder. It’d have made more sense if I wasn’t using it for water!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How we roll podcast is an entertaining actual play podcast for table top games with good story. Think "radio play"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What an interesting post, always a lack of this type of posts. Question what are Kumquat?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Nagami kumquat is a small citrus tree. You eat the entire fruit including the skin. You can make preserves and lemonade. Popular in Vietnam

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They sound and look good, had never heard of them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Athens represent! Lake Oconee is awesome

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're right down the road from me. I'm in the Athens area and go through Monticello, Eatonton, and Sparta often on my way to FL for work.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Keto diet?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah a month in. Just trying it out. I carry about 10 stubborn pounds of fat in my thighs. Hoping this will help

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It helped me lose that stubborn fat i couldn’t get to. Good luck!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was thinking the same thing. I'm trying to get into it, but man do I love my peanut butter...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You and your salty lime water

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For podcasts, I love a lot of the NPR stuff. Snap judgment, freakenomics, this American Life, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 because I too make patterns with the empty spots in the egg carton. Go Dawgs!

8 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 1

I will sometimes cook more eggs than I want just to have the right amount to make a good pattern in the carton

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Funny story, my husband got so excited one of their touchdowns he ran outside and yelled “Touchdown!” Go Dawgs!

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Me too, I enjoy egg carton patterning.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Huh, you're using Imprivata too, cool.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gotta stay secure

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you like off things welcome to night vale is a great podcast. Like h.p lovecraft and Neil gaimen made a town.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey GA! Monticello is semi-close to where I work! And this was fun, thanks :)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Download some of Dan Carlins Hardcore History. I mainline it when i do long trips to scotland (8-9 hour drive from where I am).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sweet some history! Thanks

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know where you get your audio books, but you should use your local library, free and easy to use.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks and I do! Some of the wait times for books are insane, but I do love free.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, those wait times are killer. 1.5hr daily commute for me, a book or two a month is the norm for me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The OverDrive app is awesome and connects you with your library’s e-content so you can sort out available now and put books on hold

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haven't seen a day in the life post for a while, +1 for doing it.

8 years ago | Likes 294 Dislikes 0

People always have their shit together that do these things. Y'all don't want to see a day in my life.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

honestly, that always makes it better : p schadenfreude and all

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

someone on FP yesterday said they wanted to see these again so... that’s prob why this is here.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is exactly why

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I need to visit FP more than user sub I think.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Past lurker me always liked them. Figured I’d make an account and do one myself.

Tip for dealing with renters, don't trust their last landlord, check the one before that sometimes the current lies to get rid of them.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Haha you are the 3rd person to tell me this! That, call their boss, + check any delinquent payment history seem to be frequent advice.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Also keep an eye on the property if you don't allow subletting, lots of people in CA do it without telling the landlord.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thanks for the tip!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is this Monticello, FL?! I live in Tallahassee!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

GA. Tiny little town. Hi from GA

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

.....*awkwardly waves from nearby county*

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We almost made it on your map, down in Warner Robins

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Monticello (and surrounding area) is where My Cousin Vinny was filmed. Family has some land there.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP, it looks like you do some work in my hometown, Elberton! Cool to see it on the map on Imgur.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And here ladies and gentleman , a person who has his shit together.

8 years ago | Likes 175 Dislikes 4

I wonder what that's like.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha thanks. Except my closet. I hate laundry. Thank goodness my husband doesn’t mind taking over. (Also, I’m a chick not a dude).

8 years ago | Likes 130 Dislikes 1

The username. It all comes full circle.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

great post. Why do you refer to the tree as drunk? Is it because of all the fruit?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah. It started flopping over from the weight. Like a drunk person at the bar.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Her* Did you even read?!

8 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 3

Is she single?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Does she need anything to eat?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She's got eggs, cheese, bacon, pork tenderloin, broccoli... I think she's probably good.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@agermanguy never claimed to have *his* shit together.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I am so bad at having my shit together.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
