I had a VERY similar experience with my cat. Found her in a gunny sack on the train tracks. She too, lived to 21 years old :)

Maybe an educated guess? My cat was rescued as a kitten. His vet & I chose a birthdate for him based on his approximate age.

Have had all indoor cats...oldest lived to 8.5. Fuck I'm so unlucky. I have 3 now - Aged 4, 5, 7. Hoping for another decade at least.
