Florida woman buys plane ticket for dog, and people are pissed.

Sep 11, 2017 11:06 PM

Apparently, a Florida woman bought her dog a plane ticket while evacuating from Hurricane Irma. The particular person who took the photo was upset about it, and decided to post this to Twitter. I personally am all for it, but it seems that a lot of people are not. What are your thoughts?

Where else would it sit the entire trip? On her lap? It's not exactly small. At least she's actually paying for the extra space needed.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I wont mind if doggo spills over into my lap. 13/10 big doggo would pet

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Frankly, I think dogs should fly for free, as long as they fit on a lap. Would the poster also be pissed at the overweight dude who buys x2?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Rather have a dog than a baby on my flight

8 years ago | Likes 164 Dislikes 27

I second that. At least dogs are quiet.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Babies are human beings, you twit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 12

Yeah fuck the baby let em drown in irmas maturnal arms

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Reading the comments like

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Its more complex than that, it looks to be therapeutic, airlines dont have a good track record lately, and it's once...chill

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

I wondered if it was a therapeutic dog too

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Or for the one who was left behind because of the dog taking the seat.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

So long as she paid for the seat and the airline allowed it, people can stuff it. Way too many assholes who need to mind their own business

8 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 21

Depends if it's evacuation

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

It's a regular flight.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Then buy your fucking plane ticket in advance. People had more than enough time to evacuate Florida.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

In an emergency evacuation people should be allowed to take their pets in their lap for free, in order to free up more seats.

8 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 11

If every person had an animal, especially a large one, that is a shitton of extra weight.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

evacuation flight -> minimum luggage -> balances out the weight.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

I dunno about "minimum" luggage, if anything I'd think a bunch of people take more assuming it might otherwise be lost forever.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

People might be pissed because seats were hard to get maybe? It's like if there are 3 people and 3 seats on a life raft...

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

"let them eat cake"

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I wouldn't evacuate without my pup.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Well, that depends: Did a human end up stranded in the hurricane path because this woman bought a ticket for her dog?

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 4

god no

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

As far as Miami, anyway, TV reports that only 47 people were stranded, almost all international travelers. So probably no.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Considering they all had plenty of time to evacuate, no.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The seat next to her is free. Perhaps that person went to the toilet or maybe it's a free seat. Impossible to know.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 8

I don't see the problem, they're good dogs.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 10

This risks a life of another human being because the dog takes a seat on evacuation flight.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 12

They're good dogs Brent

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Indeed...

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Here in Alberta when fort Mac was on fire the airline here evacuated people & pets at no charge for either. No one was upset.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Sounds about right, living up to the positive stereotypical view I have of Canadians :P

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think it's cool but if I had an anaphylactic reaction I prob wouldn't .... can they check ahead of time if people have allergies??

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

The main issue is that this was evacuation flight.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 8

Except there's no such thing, absent a mandate from the government to just load people, no tickets/money, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Exactly. If charging for tickets - it's just another commercial flight.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The only concerns I can see are allergies and possible noise disturbance of barking. Personally I wouldn't mind the barking but others..

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

are giant flaming douche canoes who go "OMG MY EARSSSS!!1 GIT IT OFF THE PLANEE!!!111"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

The problem is prioritizing life of an animal over human. The dog could have traveled in cargo compartment which is the usual case for them.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 7

There are many factors that you are missing too though. Plane size, plane frequency, airline rules (the dog would have never got on without

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the flight attendants seeing it) and things of that nature.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would love this, but I do see recently an enormous increase in self-entitled people taking their pets to libraries, restaurants, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 4

Let her alone. She's trying to save her life and her dog's life.

8 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 18

And risking a life of someone else trying to get safe.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 34

My dog is worth as much to me as any other person.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 10

same is true for every other seated person on the plane. its not up to the airline whose most valuable, its just who paid for a seat.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck em, my dog is my a huge part of my life. I'm not risking her life for someone I don't know.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 8

Too bad on them being too slow to buy the ticket then. We had at least a week to plan for this shit.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 14

What if she bought the dog ticket 2 weeks ago? Then the place was taken no matter how fast you were

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 9

Considering not all flights out of Florida were overbooked one week ago, that's irrelevant.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So? There wasn't an emergency at that point and she paid for her tickets, good for her.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

My nose doesn't run. my eyes don't itch. My fucking lungs have an acute allergic reaction when I'm around dogs in closed environments...

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 6

Is it airborne, or physical contact? Genuinely curious. Because airborne, same air in the plane if they're in cargo, which is often.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This happens to me around perfume and the clothing of smokers. God forbid I complain about it, though.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Then wear a face mask? Or does that not help?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

a particulate half mask helps...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same. No one gives a shit about people like us. I hate the current "pets over people" mentality in public places. My healthcare isn't cheap.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 10

I've got a disability which prohibits the denial of me or my service dog to public areas. Social conventions are complicated.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Legitimate service dogs are working animals and not just pets. I take no issue with them as they are trained & have responsible owners

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

agreed! i would happily change my flight or take whatever means needed to keep away from someone with a service dog..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've had to do it a few times. My Dr. letter keeps pets away from me on planes but accommodations are difficult with actual service animals

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

did the dog act out?? looks like good doggo. plus owner paid for seat. Rosa Parks this shit #equality

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 18

Let's not equate a dog getting a seat to a black person fighting for their rights.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

To be clear, you're comparing the struggle of African Americans for civil rights to the right to bring a dog on a plane?

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 35

loosely compared not specifically to the detail. minority to have their right on their purchased passage way

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 5

#dogslivesmatter

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

How dare you post that gif, sir/madam.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I have to hurt I'm sure as hell taking you all with me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My ESD gets 2 fly with me, but she's kept in a carrier under the seat in front of me. Safety reasons. There are pet potties at each airport.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Legitimate service dogs do not need a carrier. FYI.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

ESDs aren't service dogs and don't have the same protections. They're viewed as regular animals by airlines and follow the same rules.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, but if she bought her dog a ticket, I'm assuming it's not a service dog?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I imagine if a service dog is big enough to need the space of a seat the airline is gonna make you pay.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Some airlines do charge fees for dogs in the cabin but not a full ticket and I'm not sure this is the case? I'm not OP, so idk.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

it cost me like 175 to fly my cat coast to coast under the seat in front of me a few years ago. There were lots of rules though

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Emotional Support Dogs are dogs that provide comfort and support in forms of affection and companionship for an individual suffering from(1)

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

mental and emotional conditions. An emotional support dog is not required to perform any specific tasks for a disability like service dogs(2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Been on planes when they did it as well. Big dogs get their seats. It was a six hour coast to coast and dog was quiet

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The problem is the evacuation, the dog could have been in the cargo and human take the seat.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 9

Except if it hits over 80 (maybe it's 85). anywhere on trip then dog can't go and is left behind Dog probably evacuates better than people

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Placing pets in the cargo hold can be a 50/50 for survival. In the same situation i'd either buy my pet a seat or find another way to evac.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Odds are more likely 2/100000

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No sane person would play a game of odds over their living companion's life.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah the dog could have been in the cargo but he booked his tickets weeks before. Doggo gets a seat

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Her money, her dog. What? I'm not gonna leave my lets behind, nor would i want to risk their safety in the cargo hold.

8 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 14

you are 100% right, they were put in a horrible position with the upcoming storm, this doesn't risk anyone's lives.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But you are willing to risk life of another human as that human is being denied opportunity to evacuate on the same flight.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 21

explain how this risks life of another human. This literally didn't risk shit. Fuck off

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dogs are family. Other humans are just some strangers.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 11

This is were we differ. I have compassion to other human beings and understanding that pets are not humans.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 15

And I also know that pets can travel in the cargo.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 16

They can also end up dead in cargo too.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So can humans.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

People need to stop being so concerned about what other people are doing, and start being concerned about what they themselves are doing.

8 years ago | Likes 233 Dislikes 32

This is my life motto

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Right up until one of the passengers starts having an allergic response to the dog....

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 5

Or someone who could have been on that plane dies because the lady (understandably) didn't want her dog in the storage compartment.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am concerned about what I'm doing. You would be too if you could see me.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I get it, but that mentality is flawed; "Install speed bumps to prevent a death, not after a death occurs".

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

oh my fucking god yes.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

I believe the saying is: "Don't worry about the splinter in their eye until you've removed your head from your ass." Or something like that.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Do not attempt to help others with their breathing apparatus until you have affixed your own.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

+1. If anyone wants original, roughly "Do not ado about the mote [of wood] in someone's eye, until you remove the [log] in yours"

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Best bible quote ever

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you have allergies or get bit by a dog who can't handle a small cramp placed filled with people... seems worth being concerned.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Plenty of dogs can be calm for long periods on a trip sure but just as many get overwhelmed and can't stay calm...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Kinda like people :P

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most people don't start biting other people when they are overwhelmed with excitement (and yes.. I meant to say MOST people)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dogs however, even well trained ones can flip a table provided too much commotion or too little space to move.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Though they do plenty of other nasty things heh but yea I hear ya. Obviously training is important, I mean, it's like kids in restaurants.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Amen!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

this

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd agree. except when It impacts OTHER people. Which this kinda does.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 14

Not really, it looks like were empty seats on the flight anyway.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 17

I see one maybe empty seat (Person could be in the bathroom) If there were empty seats that's another story. But I assume evacuation planes

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Are kinda filled up with people, ya know Evacuating. Not going on holiday.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

In what way? It would be the exact same impact if that dog was a human instead.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 10

Passengers with severe allergic reactions.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

How would it be the same impact if the dog was on her lap/the floor and I dunno another human being took the seat? This isn't a holiday 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

Flight. It's an evacuation. People's lives are on the line. IF there were empty seats. That's another story.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

And how exactly does this impact other people?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 12

What if some of the passengers are allergic to dogs? Some allergic reactions can get pretty severe.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

It's the same air if its an airborne allergen whether the dog is in a seat or in a cage in cargo.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

One less ticket/seat available for someone else. (Kinda sad I have to explain that imo)

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 6

There was time to plan. Pets are family. I'd do the same.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Family sure but not people. Do you care about the bugs or any other creatures? People only want to save the cute animals

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Her money

8 years ago | Likes 4025 Dislikes 55

I dont think this is a real story...

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Yes, but pets/animals doesn't belong on the seats in a plane.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, I agree. May have also been a service dog and needed a seat/ticket to fly. Either way, still her money.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Her money, but a human live goes over a an animals. She surely was desperate and the dog probably couldn't travel any different way. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

However if a person didn't get away due to that it be a shitty move by her and I wouldn't get why people are pissed. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

as long as peopel pay for the seats I doubt it's an emergency. because whoever charges for emergency escapes is areal buttopening

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If the seat could have been used to evacuate a person the dog could & should be placed in the exit row. But there was plenty of evac flights

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He won't recline the seat, so I'm good with it!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What if someone is allergic to dogs? They paid as well to be in the plane

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and the dogs ticket.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also everyone else's money. Im allergic to dogs. I'd be pissed if I had to go through a plane trip with my allergies triggered.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah amd they probably had an issue due to the size of the dog so he couldnt be anywhere else. She probs paid out of desperation.

If she bought a seat, there is no weight restriction. People are just dicks to other people.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Other people have money and need seats for their children. More important than a dog. This isn't just any old flight.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Exactly

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 4

I would chip in. It would be a pleasure to sit next to a dog than most people.

8 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would rather sit next to the dog than some of the people I have had to sit next to on a flight.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't have to fight for the arm rest. Also, when I get the arm rest, pup can put his head on my arm. Then climb over for cuddles

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Since it's an emergency, it's ok. But as someone with allergies, I'd be livid if this happened any other time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

What if it's a service animal?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then you're just a worthless little troll who is lower than shit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 6

Not an assumption. Lots of reports of people trying to get plane tickets and being unable. Evidence.

Hmmm save my dog by paying my money for a seat or leave my dog (who I love) in a storm so a stranger can leave.... I pick my best friend

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Oh yeah? Did they die?

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

Only death is a reason to value human needs over pets?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If they got mad over it then get mad at the airline. Not her fault the airline agreed to it. She was just the easiest target they could see.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

planes are a private industry they are not a public utility nor do you have any expectation to a seat, she paid for two so it's her seat

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

So what.. she paid for it. They had weeks notice to get travel arrangements.. you could have walked out of the hurricane path in that time

8 years ago | Likes 120 Dislikes 17

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 12

i gave my mom $500 to bring her 2lb Chihuahua on the plane cause otherwise, they were gonna have to put it UNDER with the suitcases. sick.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

We did it many years ago and our dog almost died. Never again. Don't ship your animals if you have any other option.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I took my dog from Aus to Uk, quiet, climate controlled - no ill effects. And I would know, he's a sooky collie floof!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Technically cargo storage should be climate controlled, at least for pets. Ive flown my 88lb dog on united across country for moves, 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

with no ill effects(but obviously id rather she sat next to me but thats against rules w/ united). While I've heard horror stories, they 2/3

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Having looked up the horror stories they seem to be isolated to Delta. Go with anyone else and you can be confident.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

fly zoo animals too(after speaking with a worker whose last big animal was a lion). There are precautions to take, easily googleable.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Agreed. If the cargo becomes unsecured, they get crushed by all the other stuff shifting in the hold... pet carriers = crushed tin cans

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pets go in a separate bay with only other pets. Large amounts of unsecured cargo also means the plane crashes, so that's not happening.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

When it becomes unsecured, I said. The strapping, mounting and clasps break from stress or age-related wear-and-tear.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And this is what happens when those break: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lksDISvCmNI So no, they're not breaking.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why would you buy any plane tickets in an end of the world scenario lol

8 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 6

why are we even living

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To fly to magic land

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When it is a localized end of the world scenario that can be escaped by plane

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

Which would make it not an end of the world scenario.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know, I understand that, I was really just being an asshole cause "end of the world" implies the whole world is ending

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

In my mind, end of the world scenario is like extinction of humans level. Giant meteor type stuff

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

i'd definitely get a flight outta town then

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

AKA a massive hurricane

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Seriously, how has that not been legally addressed yet? The things animals typically go through on planes is straight-up animal cruelty.

8 years ago | Likes 225 Dislikes 5

Nop, there's so much paperwork to do for diseases and airlines must take care of the pets. The bad part comes when there inside the lounges

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 46

They let small animals under the seat already. And people carry more pathogens that affect ppl than animals do.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They are supposed to care for them, but animals frequently get forgotten/something gets missed and they die

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

give your pup a blanket or two, so he can keep himself warm. the temps in the cargo area can drop a LOT.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 23

.. What about badly / loosely secured or even unsecured crates stacked wall-to-wall? Animal crates get jostled about a lot, also. It's BS.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

no it's not. not all airliners have full insulation for weight & design reasons. if you have a problem with storage, look how the crew work.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 17

because it's a hellish job. most of the time they are only 2 instead of 3-4 and they have TIGHT deadlines to load up&down a 4ft tall deck..

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 13

You never heatd about animals dying in the cargo hold by overheating?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Only on delta. Which tells you Delta is incompetent and everywhere else it's fine.

I'd say it's very important that we get pissed off even about stuff that don't affect us personally. World would be more unjust if we didn't

In addition to this, it isn't in a carrier which is one of the other requirements for travelling with pets.

Something about if FEMA is involved or something. So animals can be kept in hotels or busses or stuff. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong?

Kids, moms, dads, grandparents should be first. Just my personal opinion.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well get the united airline treatment instead of being awarded the tickets and service she paid for. and you can go on about who goes first3

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The problem with that logic is that for anything bad to happen all planes out of Florida must be sold out which they almost certainly werent

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go tell that to Airlines. My mom is travel agent, Airlines doesn't care about people, they care about money. That plane could have been 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

half empty but they wouldnt take you in if you can't afford the ticket.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heirsasquatch just know im with you. 1 human life is worth more than 1 dog life If she prevented 1 person from boarding thn thats a bad move

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 14

The problem with that is that for that to happen all plane rides out of Florida must be sold out, which they almost certainly weren't.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They were not. If they were, the media would have eaten it up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These people would be singing a different tune if they were the ones stuck without a seat. Or their father, wife, child, etc...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That said, my family has pets, and I know figuring out what to do would be agonizing. I couldn't just leave them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, is there a shortage of flight tickets out?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

when it comes to limited resources people lives > dog lives. Yes she paid for it, but other people would pay for it too.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

I have heard nothing showing that air traffic was limited. There was plenty of time to evacuate. No one was forced to stay becayse of this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you have not been watching news.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I have been. And there were weeks of warning. No excuse - if you could afford to evacuate, you had plenty of time

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd gladly sacrifice another human for the life of my dog.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

you're inhuman.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

No, i just value my dogs as family. So i will always choose them over someone i don't know.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

im sure for you there are others who will do the same; sacrifice you for their dog.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Good. I hope so. If they view their dogs as their family they should do what they need to without remorse.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So she should have left her dog? I won't leave my cat alone to go on holiday. I'd bring my cat in an emergency too

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

It all depends if there was a person that wanted that seat that didnt get it or not. If so they just put someone in a life threatening place

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 14

Maybe they could plan ahead more. Not like a hurricane is a spur of the moment event. I don't even live in range and it was on my radar.

8 years ago | Likes 158 Dislikes 11

So, if she bought out the whole plane because she didn't like anyone else flying with her, would that ok? That's an extension of this imo

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 175

Wouldn't a fat person also have to buy two seats? Should a fatty be prevented from buying seats? 2 seats for 1 soul vs 2 seats for 1.5 to 2

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

If it wasn't an emergency situation I'd say yeah.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I get where you're coming from, but that's a straw man. There were plenty of planes. Plenty of notice. What alternative do you suggest?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wether she denies one person, or 200 because of her own interests, it's wrong in my opinion

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 75

That airline company most likely gives no shits. Money is money to them, no matter who pays and who flies.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

So everyone who bought a single ticket did so for their own interests, so what does it matter that the dog was in her interest.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I get what you're saying, but one seat isn't an entire airplane. You can't just extend things absurdly then call them parallel.

8 years ago | Likes 151 Dislikes 3

Dogs flying in the cabin is not uncommon though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, but they have to be in a carrier and you can request to be seated away from them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I fly frequently. I see dogs with seats all the time. They can be in a carrier in a different room for cheaper price (1)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But I've heard that the poor climate control and oxygen systems have killed pets before.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm allergic to kids

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Overexposure happens. In confined spaces, some people can get allergic to even their own kids. They just look glazed over.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Make sure to tell airline staff, so kids can be stowed in with the cargo.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

People waiting at the airport and the dog took a spot. Florida had plenty of time to evacuate and people were able to safely.

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 4

So then what's the actual issue if the dog gets on the plane or not right? Esp if people had enough time to evacuate etc.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Allergies. Like I said.

Allergies

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

People are cunts. Thats the only issue i see.

Service dogs are allowed, so why not regular dogs? There's no difference. People need to stop complaining about everything.

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 7

There's a huge difference. Risk vs benefit and behavior.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Technically, there is a difference. Otherwise, service dogs wouldn't be called service dogs, they would just be called dogs.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

There is a difference. Service dogs are necessary for that person to function safely. Pet dogs are not. That's like saying you can bring

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some allergies are more severe than a sneeze. Dog kisses give me a red rash and hives. I don't mind evacing a dog, but maybe put him below?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Temperature in cargo hold can get below freezing and may lose oxygen. Any animal would die.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Noise, pressure, and temperature, possibly oxygen, are all major issues down there. Its pretty likely the animal would be harmed.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yea, I think it would be something the airline should clear with passengers. Like designate certain planes for pets so people with severe

AMEN. Duh. I'd be pissed if I could not get a ticket for one of my children...people are disgusting.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, I don't know the story here but that LOOKS like an empty seat next to the person who took the photo... also if we're upset about 1

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

how resources could've been better used to evacuate humans, why are we not upset the airline is charging at all?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

People are thinking it prevents a human but really there were a buttload of planes going out with alot of warning time for super cheap

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The dog was in an exit row, and clearly incapable of assisting others.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think it's because the dog can't put on an oxygen mask in case of emergency and therefore cannot subsequently help others.

8 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 4

Neither can small children or special needs people though. If trained, I can imagine a dog would be more useful in a scenario.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or medium and big children for that matter.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good point Jim. And the same goes for old people. (are you running? because I'm running)

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Wait... when I am on a plane then people assume that I could help them when we all are falling from the sky and are going to die? xD what...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I only flew once and no one told me about that XD (It was short distance)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing you'd be the person others have to help... so just kick back and relax!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think you can have your pet in a carrier and put in the pet area of the plane and let another human escape the killer hurricane.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 33

My family's puppy was emotionally damaged from flying in the pet area. She's still skittish and nervous around men.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The "pet area" of the plane typically is the unsafe underside with the rest of the cargo which has killed tons of pets.

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 7

Never erver give your pet in the pet area of a plane... I once had to decide between doing that or driving 9 hours by car with my cats and

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My husband and I drove our dogs to San Antonio, TX after living in Guatemala for three years. We were concerned about having to 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

move elsewhere due to his work (say, Asia), and I would've died of anxiety if we'd had to fly them. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I chose the car because I heard so many aweful stories about the pet areas!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The pet area is a death trap. But I'd put my 90 lb golden in my lap for however long it took if that's the only way i could get him out safe

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

It isn't. Odds of anything wrong are extremely low and limited to a couple irresponsible airlines: >

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The "pet area" results in thousands of dead pets every year. It's unsafe and if you had to fly in the pet area, you'd be scarred for life

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 7

Can confirm. It's been two years since my dogs one and only flight under the plane, and she's forever traumatized

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Bullshit stat. 26 animals died in 2016 in cargo areas (U.S)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Still unacceptable. My pets are family. I wouldn't make my children ride there, so my pets won't either

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

From what I read I think it was about that per airline. So still less than 1000's but significant none the less

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope. Total. United is the worst with a third of the total deaths at a rate of 2.11 deaths or injuries of 10000

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I find that really hard to believe; thousands of dead pets every year? Got to be an exaggeration. That's absolutely insane.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

It's hard to believe because it's not true. I just looked it up. 26 pets died in in cargo areas last year in the U.S.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

I forgot the US is the only nation with airplanes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes 26 dead animals is an acceptable number, right? /sarcasm

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

Seems like most people are mad cuz of logistics and allergies, not cuz that seat could have been for a human.

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 8

Ur comment is sixth place too.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Those are points I would happily accept. The argument that a person could have had it is faulty at best - there were still flights, 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

and ample warning. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm not allergic to dogs, but if there is someone there that is just as allergic to dogs as I am to cats I would understand they get mad >

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I dont know about this airline but we have our customer submit their allergies and if that i s the case no pets are allowed on that flight/1

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And the same the other way around. Dog booked: no allergies. (English is not my native language)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The best solution probably.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

> about it, not in hindsight but rather at that moment. You kinda lose all ability to think rationally if all you can do is sneeze.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

> note In non-evacuation scenarios, I would be against this shit eitherway.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I would say "fuck your allergies" if I was rescuing my pet. Also, pets in flights is legal. No rules against support animals.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The only 2 real potential issues here are 1. Allergies (the more serious problem) and 2. what happens when the doggo needs to make a doodoo.

8 years ago | Likes 841 Dislikes 44

it's very common to have pets fly. Southwest allows smaller dogs as long as they fit under the seat in front of you in approved carriers.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

my dog has flown more than a lot of people I know haha.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm super allergic and consider it my job to be prepared for animal run ins. I won't put others out bc of my allergies if it can be avoided

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Well there is also the chance that just the fact someone bought that seat for a dog, it left a person who now couldn't book that seat

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

There was so much warning to evacuate. That's not even a little probable.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Understand the sentiment, but there was no halt in air traffic until the storm hit. If you were still there by then, it was by choice

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 be seated further away.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have no problem with this

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

doggo probably thinks he's inside won't do the doodoo

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Solution is simple: Ask the other passengers what their allergies are at the boarding gate. If noone mentions Dogs, then they are good.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Also it's one fewer seat that a human could have been sitting in, but I guess that all depends on how a human compares to a dog.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

If it's a short flight the doodoo wouldn't be an issue

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

1/2 Dogs fly on planes all the time. Service animals, pets, emotional support animals. If you have an allergy, you declare it and arrange to

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The third potential issue is that it's a dog taking a seat that a person could have taken. Null if the plane had empty seats.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree with you with your first point. Frankly I'm kind of cheesed that I'm seeing the people commenting are oblivious to that fact.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 8

1) The allergy argument isn't really much of an argument. Even in non-emergency situations dogs would be allowed on planes in the cabin.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2) If you have a severe allergy, there's a good chance you would know this and take the proper precautions or avoid flying.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3) I mean that's a fact of life that every allergic person lives with. What this person did is not that strange.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People who are allergic tu dog need to be in contact with them. And depending on the flight, dog can go a long time whitout bathroom break

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 19

My dog literally goes once every 12 hours, he's been that was since I got him as a pup, as for allergies, they will be fine.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 17

People throat can close up from allergies

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

And mine can close up if I go up the stairs too fast, or if someone raises their voice. You prepare and move on. If your allergies are 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

so bad you cant handle it, offer to switch to a later flight. There was plenty of warning, and if people didnt wait til last minute, 2/?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

then they had plenty of time to work with. 3/3

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

The bigger concern is how they handle the pressure change. It can play merry cob hell with human ears, let alone doggo ears.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I've always wondered that

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They can handle it fine. It's the same as a human. Some may be more bothered than others but generally it's just a small irritation

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's the worry. When a dog or a baby gets bothered like that it cries, and dogs don't get distracted by pacifiers like babies do.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Distracted? The sucking helps with equalising :p. Same way chewing gum helps. though slowly exhaling and closing your nose is best

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't do that, it can damage your hearing. Best bet is either to yawn or ask your stewardess for a steam cup. Pacifiers settle crying babies

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've flown with multiple dogs in the cabin. Never had an issue plus dogs can be soothed like a baby with pets and soft words.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've flown with, I think, three? And of those three, one of them was having NOTHING to do with being soothed. The other two were ok though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what if dog shits and owner doesn't wipe asshole. that seat is now contaminated with fecal mater. Now, imagine your baby sitting on seat.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

My kid plays in public play areas all the time. She's touched worse bacteria than micro bits of dog poo. She's still alive.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The only issue I see with this, is that she's taking up a seat someone else might have needed.

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 25

Sadly, seats are sold based on need, but on price. How cool would that be though?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What's the other option? Crate the dog under the plane or leave it behind?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Perhaps there weren't enough desperate humans trying to fight for a ticket if the airline isn't regulating this.....

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

As any other healthy passenger there

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 11

Did you mean as much as any other passenger there? If so I have to disagree, a dog could ride in other parts of the plane.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 13

And if I had to choose between a person's life and a dog's, I have to go with the person almost every time.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 9

The cargo hold isn't guaranteed safe for animals. That being said, if I pay for two seats on an airplane, they are my seats. If you don't 1/

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

She paid for the seat

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 10

Otherwise if this wasn't an evacuation going on, 100% I agree she paid for two seats. But I also do not think she should leave dog behind3/3

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Like 5 flights because they overbooked and every flight out was full, they ended up having to drive South Carolina from Florida for a flight

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

While I would agree with you, there were problems getting enough people on flights out of Florida. My parents had to rebook something 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes, but if you were evacuating a dangerous situation, would you be annoyed that you couldn't get a ticket bc someone faster than you got 2?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

So it'd be great if the dog could be transported NOT in a seat. But the dog is safe now... just makes it a sticky situation

That's like saying oh you're deathly allergic to peanut butter? Just take a Benadryl.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

If you anaphylax, you carry an epi-pen. People with allergies learn to prepare for situations like this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

An epi-pen is a stop-gap measure to keep you from dying from anaphylactic shock. It does not cover you for extended periods of time nitwit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I am not a nitwit. I know this. I'm saying that people with allergies have plans for coming across their allergens.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Service animals trump allergies. I get that isn't what's happening in this picture but dogs are allowed to fly in the cabin and allergies...

8 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 13

Depends on the severity of the allergy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had an asthma attack because of a seeing eye dog when I was 12. The blind guy and I both felt really bad about it.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Aren't a reason to not allow an animal on a flight.

You do realize that people can die from an allergic reaction right? One legitimate medical issue does not trump another.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 11

Gee golly thanks for that factoid. Look up the law, it's not a personal opinion. I'm talking about service animals legally being on planes.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 10

That's why they are limited in number on flights & bigger breads are restricted to 1st row. Not on a seats or out in the open in other rows.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Fuck off. This isn't a service animal, so people not suffering trumps a person wanting their dog next to them.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 44

Nope fuck you. Survival of the fittest.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 21

Or you could read what I said. I'm only stating that in the cases of service animals, you can't deny them due to allergies. So even if ..

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

There wasn't a dog on the specific flight I guarantee you that hundreds of dogs have been and there's still fur floating around.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

This is ofc assuming the doggo is a well trained and behaved goodboy and not a "I'm not going to shut up for a god damn second" goodboy.

8 years ago | Likes 217 Dislikes 10

people aren't well trained and behaved on planes all the fucking time. this lady is saving a family member, fuck the twitterer

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Mine would not make any noise. She would, however, get SUPER excited by all the people want want to lick everyone.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your baby? Oh. New conversation. Sorry, it's too early in the morning for thinking.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Babies.

8 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 9

This. More people need to say this.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, they shouldn't be allowed on planes either. About half kidding

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Babies are generally seen as more important than dogs since they're human.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

There's a difference between babies and doggos in that babies can't be trained to not make noise.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 5

Just because they can't help it they should be allowed but others not? I would get rare outliers and diseases, but that's not the case.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They can, it just takes additional years. Eventually they can even be trained to buy their own ticket.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

They can, it just take a few years.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

And thus you should not take a baby on a flight until it's a few years old. /s

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

So what you're saying is that doggos are better than babies. Gotcha.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yeah, dogs can be trained to wait a few hours to go to the bathroom. FYI.

8 years ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 27

My dog has easily gone 12 hours without going outside. I leave him home alone for 4 hours max, its just, he can hold it.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

Dogs can go a whole day if you need them to. We regularly leave our dogs in the house for 2-3 hours by themselves with no messes.

8 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 2

Case and point. Dogs often spend hours at home not making a mess. Planes wouldn't be hard just based on time.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

My dad's 2 little peekapoos go 8 hrs by themselves daily

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Such an odd statement. Pretty much everyone with dogs has left them alone for at least 2-3 hrs - they're dogs, not chocolate ice cream

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

dispensers with the switch stuck on. Also, you claim dogs can go 24 hrs then as evidence cite 2-3 hrs for your dogs. That's like saying it's

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

possible to lift 1000 lbs and you've lifted 100 before.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

Well, I was responding to the person that thought the dog may need to go to the toilet on the plane, just used that timeframe as an example.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah my brother has really bad asthma and is severely allergic to dogs. With that combo if he's anywhere near a dog his throat closes up....

8 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 12

There are people who are super allergic to perfume. They take allergy meds with them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Well don't pass that on

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

At the same time dogs are super common, does he carry an epi pen?

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 7

My assumption is that it would be mostly OK outside because all the allergens would be a lot more spread out and diluted than inside a room.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Which would also apply here, as aircraft have extremely good forced-circulation and hospital-grade air filters.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was your brother on the plane?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 11

What if the dog is allergic to humans? Nobody thought aboot that? I'm allergic to most humans too! Unconsidered people all over the place.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 12

Would a face mask help? Also, how is he still alive, considering all the places dogs are brought?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I am asthmatic when near dogs and my solution to this would be to dose up on benadryl and hope the dog is far away. A Mask would help 1/

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Goggles can help too, but it wouldn't fix all. Really, avoiding dogs where there is a indef. amt of clean air is easier out of a plane 2/

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Super allergic here. Its our job to be prepared for situations. I carry allergy meds and epipens with me always. It isn't doggos fault

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 4

Fellow allergy-ridden human. So much of this is true. Not my neighbors fault he cut the grass.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Completely true. People shouln't have to comprimise because of a specific persons problems. People could be thoughtful, but in the end-

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

It's not everyone else who's allergic, it's the one person. And they are the ones who should compromise with meds and epipens.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

That exact same argument goes either way though. Why should he have to prepare because she wants a dog. Do you know how we feel drugged up?>

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

> it feels extremely shit, and I would accept it for an evacuation in hindsight. But I would be extremely against it normally.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Me too. That scenario could see me in hospital if I'm lucky

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

What would you do if there was a service dog pin the plane?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

Have an epi-pen/inhaler if you know your allergies are that bad. Like you would anywhere else in life there may be an allergu trigger

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

IIRC one problem is that an epipen is generally used to delay a reaction until you can get to a hospital rather than negating the reaction.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's never happened so I'm not sure. They seem to be a more common in the US

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I guess different flight or section depending on the plane

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
