I rode a motorcycle across half of the country this summer. If any Americans are aching to travel, there are a lot of amazing things in see pretty close to home

We started in Colorado

Spent most of the time camping with the stuff we carried on our bikes.

I believe this was on the border of Colorado and Utah. Most of our camp spots were found by riding up random dirt roads up some mountains on the side of small towns

The Bonneville salt flats... didn’t break any land speed records on my mighty Honda Magna, but I got salt everywhere!

Outside a liquor store!

We circled back around into Wyoming

Grant Teton National Park

Yellowstone

More of Yellowstone

This was just South if Glacier National Park. We liked this spot so much, we spent three nights here

We spent hours throwing rocks into this lake

Seattle

My caffeine consumption increased dramatically between Seattle and Portland

This beer is 9% ABV... say no more!

First sight of the Pacific Ocean! About to leave Oregon and head into California

Dang, who could be so cool as to ride this steed? ;)

No picture will ever do the redwoods justice. Every single one of these trees were wider than I could stretch my arms and so tall you couldn’t make out the tops through the leaves and branches

North San Diego!

Right on man it's wonderful lifestyle isn't it. I did that for a few years. Getting ready to do it by canoe

Awesome bike! Once I get done with my cb750 I plan on doing a nice ride across the country! Seeing this gets me so damn stoked!

Thanks! That’s awesome. I’d love to pick up a cb750 one day.

The Honda 750 Magna is a damn fine bike!

I’ll ride that thing comfortably anywhere! It also went head to head with my buddy’s 1200 nightster!

I've had a lot of bikes, had 2 Magnas and had some of the best rides of my life on them! Don't ever sell it

It’s beautiful! Genuinely one of my favorite parts of the trip. I’d love to live there one day.

It's amazing. No place like it. I had enough of the Colorado crowding!

I just wish I could have a bike just to ride across town..

If you make it a priority, I promise you’ll want to ride a lot further than that one day :)

Yea, just not financially able to get a bike as of now.

That’s understandable. I had to save for a while. When it comes time, check craigslist religiously for what you’re looking for.Wish you well

I just bought a bike this summer and fully intend on doing the same! How did you pick places to stay?

That’s awesome! My best piece of advice is to avoid planning too far in advance... the best part of the trip for me was the mentality of...

Taking it one day at a time. We rarely knew where we would sleep before noon. We mostly planned on camping at beautiful spots that looked...

Like we wouldn’t get in trouble for being there. If we genuinely couldn’t find anything, or we really needed to shower, or it was too cold..

Or raining hard, we would just split a cheap motel room.

My butt is sore just looking at this.

Haha we used to stand up on the passenger pegs while we were hauling down the freeway to stretch out

Get a cobra saddle. Japanese make great bikes but their saddles suck; you move around too much and the constant adjustment wears you out.

Thanks! I’ll look into them.

Good idea. I always cringe when I see people riding crotch-rockets. Yours at least looks semi-comfortable.

Uncomfortable yeah, but damn fun for a couple of hours. Knee down is one of the best things you can do with pants on

Or in the case of a GSXR rider, board shorts and sandals!

Wearing matching lonsdale singlets, stubbies and adidas kicks. Fuckin tossers
