1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Seattle. They abandoned the car a few blocks away as it was effed up.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Made it easily and it shows you all the TV and movies about copoganda is bullshit the cop would have made it too but he had an appointment to rape a child and kill a black person at the same time

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cop is wrong about the location. That's the University Bridge over the "Ship Canal." The "Montlake Cut" is farther east from there and goes under the Montlake Bridge.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They found the car but the driver escaped

Ma beans!

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If they pull that with my car I don't even want it back

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

According to the news article the car was found still running but considered totaled and the suspects were not found.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Jeez yeah probably so much damage to the frame and everything under.

Montlake cut?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Having read the title, in my head... it was a lot more epic

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, this was in Seattle at the University bridge last September. https://www.king5.com/article/news/crime/driver-fleeing-police-jumps-university-bridge/281-e0ebc428-a9d1-4796-a4e7-c9bc2f6bc7e3#

But they were on a mission from God, though...

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before the catalytic converter so it'll run good on regular gas.

Seattle University district. Lots of weird streets, and those uni kids will definitely stash the bad guy. Seattle hates the po-po.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

far enough to ditch the cops & flee on foot

Until the engine seizes from lack of oil

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

He is literally driving deeper into Seattle closer to other police departments.

only option was to cut hard to the right, ditch the car, then look sexy walking away

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Odds are good that SUV survived the jump. The driver's back won't be happy about it, but the car likely lived long enough to at least get out of sight.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Further than that cop, anyway.

1 month ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Not 5te next one. Did you know, the cops have radios now!

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Often the best goal isn't 'get away as far as possible' but to get far enough away to break line of sight and then vanish.

1 month ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

confirming: the chase has to be short, the longer you run the easier it is to get cops in front of you or get the helo on you. make a few 1/

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

turns the won't try, get outta sight & ditch, they'll get to the car in the end, best case is you're gone by then. 2/2

Upvotimg for cheese it. LOL

I’ll updoot you too for ā€œcheese itā€, but I honestly want to know if you just used the term or can you give the reference?

Got it from good ol’ loveable bender

Though couldn’t find an Imgur native gif but it’s one of his common expressions throughout the series and it means ā€œto run awayā€ lolz

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ahh. An excellent modern reference. I’m old and was thinking of the Bowery Boys series from the ā€˜50’s. They used that phrase all the time.

Two days until they announce the Netflix Movie with Alexi Hawley as director with Mark Addy as a new Shepard, Melissa O'Neil as the new pilot and Seth Green and Felecia Day joining the extended cast.

It's a Audi Q7 (built on the same platform as the VW Touareg), it would have coped with a small jump.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Came to say this and most folks (in my experience at least) when you're using the roof racks/storage, they usually are on top of maintenance and condition of their cars, again in my car community at least.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Roof rack storage containers and kayak carriers on Audis are like huge tires and lift kits on pavement princess pickups - just for show.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's funny how you say that as if that's a mark of quality or strength. "Audi" is Swahili for "unreliable, and a financial liability".

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

And "Audi" is Latin for "Hear!", or "Horch" in German - the name of the founder and the origin of the company's name.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not really. Go play with some translation software or sites. Next, go find the oldest reference to the "horch=hear=audi" story you can. It's nowhere near as old as the Audi company.

4 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know what sources you're looking at, but according to Audi themselves, and the memoirs of August Horch himself dated 1937, as well as every other statement I can find, it comes from the translation of the name per suggestion of his son. I can read German, no translation needed.

4 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't say that because it's an Audi, I said it because it's a solid 4WD built on a solid platform.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean, Audis are pretty tough around these parts, but I suppose the manufacturing standards may be different.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

As a german - WTF??

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Maybe their cars are a better quality when made in Germany? I'm in California, and most of the Audis we see are made in Mexico, or sitting in the shop. I've had several Volkswagens and Audis over the last 15 years, and every one of them has been a piece of shit. They've got nothing on Mercedes.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a joke that wasn't even funny in my grandpa's time. The format goes, generally, [word] is [foreign language] for [insult]. It relies on a bit of xenophobia and ignorance to get a laugh out of other ignorant xenophobes.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No, asshole, it's a slight parody on the fact that the Volkswagen group appropriated a bunch of African names for their car models. They've done this for decades. "Scirocco" is a wind that originates in the Sahara desert and blows towards the Mediterranean basin. VW first use that word as a car name in 1974. VAG has consistently "borrowed" African words to name their cars, which pairs well with their target audience: gentrifiers that evict POCs and rename streets and neighborhoods after them.
