Thats exactly how I imagined Gale to be.

I just finished BG3 finally after multiple bugged playthroughs... damn right karlach is the best and I rode into hell for her.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She should carry ME!!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm wooing her! Now to get those fires under control...

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds about right.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Btw you can be a BEARFUCKER.

Maaaan, missed opportunity for Shadowheart to be thrown over her shoulder.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Like a continental soldier 🎶

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shadowheart is definitely going through some emotions.

1 year ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

Doesn't Shadowheart explicitly say that one part of her wants to be carried over the shoulder, like Minthara is in this list?

1 year ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Yes, the first time you meet Karlach, she mentions that Karlach looks strong enough to sweep her off her feet and carry her.

1 year ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure she specifically said that [Karlach] could lift her up on her shoulder(s), should the need arise.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Should the need arise.

1 year ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

You know there's Finnish folk sport called "eukon kanto" Which literally means "wife carrying", you carry your spouse (or volunteer) across obstacle course and if you win, you get their weight in beer....

This heavily reminds me of that...

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#5 is just perfection.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Knowing Karlach is a big girl, I know for a fact that as a big guy, she can still cary me F. way, although, I've always wanted to be carried like that.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Haven't played the game yet. Now I know Minsc is a companion. Excellent. I shall start as soon as Patch 8 is released.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This pleases Boo.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go for the eyes!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wish I could play this game. For me it crashes at the character creation screen or at level up screen if I stay for more than 2min.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Have you installed any mods? Updated to the latest driver for your video card? Perhaps launching it in Vulkan mode instead of DirectX mode? (or vice versa)

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No mods. Done all those things. Just doesn't work for me. Can't find a fix.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Make a post on the official larian bg3 forums, if they can't help you you're either shit out of luck or you need to try on a different pc.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice, now draw her telling me it's gonna be okay

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I’ve not got a picture but, “keep that pretty little chin up soldier, the sun’s gonna rise just like it always should. Just stick close to Mama K, and everything’ll be okay.”
That sound about right?

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Thank you

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Jaheira one is accurate. I always liked her character in BG2 and she's fucking hilarious in BG3 if you joke with her about being old she will sass you right back.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I never liked her in BG1/2 when I was a kid, but BG3 Jaheira and middle-aged me get on quite well.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I took every opportunity in BG3 to sass her and her clapbacks are hilarious.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Excellent. :)

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is the last guy a full elf?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A full Wood Elf. He (jokingly?) suggests he might have an orc in his lineage somewhere far back.

She'd start off carrying Gale like E but end up carrying him like F because he is, in fact, a precious baby man & *the* romanceable character who will not only stay with you if you become a worm but proudly marry said worm complete with a fancy worm wedding with the best worm food served.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I always have to ask Gale fans... what do you think about the scene where he whips his dick out without asking? I really couldn't get past that scene myself. What's your take on it?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I... didn't get that scene. What's it happen after?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The party in Act 1, he asks if you want to see a magic trick, no further explanation. If you say yes, he whips his dick out.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Maybe that was patched by the time I played it 😜

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is hilarious but also deep gale slander. as a horrible gale craving pervert I tried every trick in the book to see that nerds peen and I can assure all it does not happen until after act 2 :P

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe i'm misremembering when it happens then, but I do remember being like "what the fuck why is he showing me his dick"

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Her holding Lae'zel like she's and angry pomeranian is perfect.

1 year ago | Likes 224 Dislikes 0

Air jail for trying to bite.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Because she is an angry Pomeranian

1 year ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

She is an angry frog

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Astarion is clinging so tightly. I'm cool with that.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nothing satisfied me more than killing him with a stick before I even meet Karlach

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now, how would she carry Tav?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heres how another artist through that would go.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

And the others. Havent seen one for Halsin though.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I laugh there's just some consistently such as Gale getting wheelbarrowed

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

... people seem to like implying that Minthara should best be "damsel-kidnapped"-carried?

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Have you met Minty? She's kinda grouchy.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Indeed

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was not prepared for karlach. I got the impression she was a big tough dommy mommy. She is the softest schoolgirl ever.

1 year ago | Likes 174 Dislikes 1

Karlach has immense golden retriever energy.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

We're told her heart is a machine. What we learn is that it's made of gold.

1 year ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

"She took my HEART!.....my mother gave that to me..."

That came out of left field and actually brought a tear to my eye.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I tried so hard to romance Karlach, to no avail. Legit heartbroken.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and will attack you 6 times per round when hasted, and do 96 damage

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my game has devolved in act 3 to "everybody buffs karlach, then she kills everyone"

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's tough because she had to be, but she wants to escape that life. Of all the companions, she's the one I just really, really want to hug.

1 year ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 0

Hey Larian agrees with you, since one of her main threads is getting her core cooled down enough *to* hug people.

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I just got BG3 recently and Karlach is the best. She's got some absolutely fantastic dialog and she's written so you actually want to give a shit about her. The VA sells all of it.

1 year ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

The VAs of BG3 in general are amazing.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I played a pirate copy for a while, but needed the HDD space back. Am waiting for a decent sale now I have a new compooter.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

selected her as my origin character and the simple shear elation when she gets off the ship was amazing

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I need to do that myself. I've got a couple custom characters I'm playing through right now.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think the thing about a lot of the bg3 companions is they all have the capacity for good *or* evil, and a lot of them that seem evil at the start have just been conditioned. As you play through their story you find more about them and how they're not evil, just shaped by circumstances and actually can blossom into such *human* characters, and I find all of those cases to be very well-written as characters and I love them so much. Conversely, another example is Wyll, who is just a stalwart (1)

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

guy. This makes him likeable of course, and at the start I admire his goodness the most. But that's all it is, you know? His story simply involves being forced into evil deeds due to circumstances really beyond his control. As a "character growth" angle, I find that really boring. But Karlach, she stands out among the cast as a character that's fully good but still shows a lot of character growth. When you meet her, she just seems like (and is) a happy-go-lucky tough girl with a heart of gold.(2)

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

But as you progress her story, you learn that she became who she is because she *had* to to survive, and deep down she's just a little girl that wants to *live*, and when she finally achieves the goal she'd been pursuing this whole time she breaks down in the face of the reality of the engine, because she just wants to *live*. Her story had me sobbing at the end, such was the pure emotion her actress presented. I was so impressed at what they did with so many of the characters in bg3. (3/3)

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Bg3 is very well written in general. It's just too bad Wizards of the Coast owns D&D.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She is a giant toasted marshmallow

1 year ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

melted onto a warm cinnamon roll.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Get you a woman who can do both

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously. Karlach is the best.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's what makes her perfect.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How much of the game have you played? Because the reason she's a big, soft schoolgirl is...

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I beat the game and romanced her till the end, then went to avernus with her.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's actually not original content. I can understand why people pushed on Larian to update alternate fates for Karlach, because she is the most precious bean. I feel that while Wyll is the "best of us" of the companions, Karlach is, despite the things she mentioned she wanted to do when she got to cool off, is in a way, the most innocent of the party. Even if you look past her staggering amounts of copium

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glad i never got to play it without that ending then. I would've rioted if there was no "happy" ending for her. Also what makes Wyll the best of us? I never really liked him

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As I understood his character, he was the most virtious and dutiful. Oh, yeah. As I recall, Karlach's ultimate fate before the patches/content updates were to... well, fatally burn out, and all you could do was be there and and comfort her.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Japanese call that ギャップ, or "the gap."

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And Londoners have a saying, ritually repeated by underground station announcers whenever a train arrives: "Mind the gap."

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Commonly known in English as a "gap-moe"

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: Halsin is not strong enough to carry Karlach in D&D 5e. His strength score of 10 means he can only carry 150 lbs, and Karlach is canonically 180. I guess it's lucky for him that BG3 uses its own weight capacity system.

1 year ago | Likes 342 Dislikes 4

Auto-stats, the boys are the weakest party members. It's kinda hilarious because their models are all fit af

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

She just wanted to be carried by the bear TBH.

1 year ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

Luckily for her and the rest of us

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Halsin's stats get nerfed if you recruit him because game balance. Otherwise he has a STR of 16, his second highest stat. It also makes zero sense for the archdruid to be whatever low level people usually get him, but it would be absurd to just drop a high-level druid in your party.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doesn't this just mean he's heavily encumbered with -20 speed and disadvantage on a number of types of checks? He can still carry her.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

He'd be sweating at a 5' per round speed with a fireman carry, princess carry would be right out.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

D&D stats for STR have never made sense. According to their tables, Halsin can carry 150lbs and move 300lbs based on his 10 STR. Karlach with a 17 can carry 255lbs and move 510lbs.

This means that even with a strength of 8, you can carry 120lbs. So if the average human IRL (like non-athletic and grabbed off the street) can carry maybe 80lbs and move 160lbs, the average human has a STR score of 5.

So even at "only" a 10, Halsin is considered a trained athlete compared to average people.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With a STR of 5 and a negative modifier of -3 on any STR check, that means if you need to open a pickle jar with a difficulty of 3, then you have only a 75% chance of success. (10% based on difficulty and 15% from your negative)

Which makes sense in terms of math and logic, but in D&D they never clearly explain that having a 10 is considered above average and already into more hero-tier territory.

So, in a world of fantasy, we're all just 5's and Olympic athletes are 10+

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How tall is mommy Karlach? Asking for me.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

About 6'4".

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Today I thought about Halsin's build (mechanical) and looked at Halsin's build (visual) and realized that he's an example of body sculpting versus strength training.

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

She gotta be more than 180, she's TALL and THICK.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree, just going with the stated number..

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And respeccing 😘

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I respecced and gave him 16 str, but it kinda ruins his build. Strength is the least needed stat for a druiid.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So Halsin's muscles are basically just all volume, no density?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Impossibly so. His arms are as thick as Shadowheart's head but she can win in arm wrestling?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Narrative VS gameplay discontinuity....

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Halsin's strength is whatever the player wants it to be. Though it is ridiculous that both he and Minsc have low default strength

1 year ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 1

Karlach can carry about 4 dead tieflings at a time, I rounded up all the dead tieflings and brought them to (the town in act 2, barren light or something I can't remember) I made a big pile of them and everyone kept crying about how they were gone I'm like yoooo, bury your dead!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Before he joins the party, Minsc has 20 STR (and 6 WIS) if you Examine him. After he joins the party, he gets the default stat spread for a Ranger.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Especially given that Minsc' whole schtick in the previous BG games was being dumb and strong 18/?? Strength score meant he was a powerhouse in the first game

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It amuses me greatly that Halsin's muscles are all for show

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pure glamour muscles

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I always go through and respecialize him as a druid/barbarian. Few things more fun than a raging bear on the battlefield

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah, Minsc' stats are entirely in service of his class, as BG3 uses fixed point-buy. Thankfully Withers will let you not only reclass but change the stat array

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Yeah, you can make him a strength Ranger even easily enough, like he was back in BG 1 and 2, though giving him high wisdom, which is useful for the class, feels weird for the character

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

granted he kind of strikes me as kind of a wise fool in BG3 once you get him, he's very naive and book-dumb, but he has kind of a good read on people but he definitely has been through a lot between BG2 and 3

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I guess that tracks

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just realized and looked it up to be sure... the strongest BG3 male character is weaker than the weakest BG3 female character.

1 year ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

That's kinda hot

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Such is the stats of the class, not the character itself....

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Your stats are the stats of the character? The class is nothing to do with it. A wizard with 18 str would be absolutely roided out with huge muscles

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But what does a Wizard need with a strength score of 18?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean all the male characters are casters or Dex users; the female characters are martial classes or casters that benefit from a little strength.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Jaheira (10) has less STR than Minsc (12). But that's the only time the rule doesn't hold. Every other female party member has 13+ and the other male ones have 10 and below.

1 year ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Ah, Jaheira starts with 15 strength according to the wiki, but then reverts to 10 strength when recruited. I think that's my mistake, shouldn't be counting their stats when not recruited.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's because Rogue(astarion), Wizard(Gael), Warlock(Will), Druid(Halsin), Ranger(Minsc) are all NOT strength based classes, though I agree both Halsin and Minsc should have minimum 14 strength based on their character models alone.

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Minsc used to be a STRanger, but they changed him for BG3. He has 20 STR in actual DnD.

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Lower than Shadowheart! It's just weird. :D

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

High str is a req for some armor types also str is a dump stat for druids so it makes sense at least in the ttrpg sense.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It does, but he's also the most stat-flexible class in the game. Moon Druid only needs high Wisdom, the rest of their stats only really apply to skill checks.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She is a cleric, she needs strength for armor

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Meanwhile Shadowheart's default wisdom is ridiculously low.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

17...?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is my mistake. I was conflating her low INT and early Firebolt struggles with her WIS.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
