I think I ran into John C. McGinley while I was on vacation this summer and it kill’s me that I didn’t stop him to see for sure. He was so incredible in Scrubs.
Just watched the scene where Jack has learned to use the potty, and Dr. Cox's congratulatory speech is one of the most affirming, proud, and on brand amusing coxism.
Janice this is a doctors’ appointment for prostate checkup… Happy to meet for a date a little later on but I don’t think I should waddle in there like this.
Office for me but i totally feel you. I thought those were great and binged them years ago but now I'll watch it for a minute and immediately move on coz it just feels old and unrelateable.
Scrubs, the office and Parks & Rec. Not sure if I can pick a fav. Definitely should rewatch scrubs tho. Before he went to the military, my cousin and I, our favorite thing to do to each other when one of us pissed the other off was to ask him to hold this hammer. I should've kicked it up a notch and started hid my hammer in his stuff before he left.
That's Friends for me. I actually enjoy it more now that I'm older and can more appreciate how life changing a small group of dedicated people can be. And how important the little things are in every day happiness
Season 8 Scrubs kinda makes forget Scrubs. Love Community as well. I keep cycling through less and less though indeed. Friends and HIMYM I've already given up.
I rewatched it recently and while I still love it, a few things have not aged well. It's interesting to see how a show that was pretty progressive for its time is sexist by today's standards. Not blaming the show, as it was a product of its time, but you can tell it predates #metoo. But again, that did not stop me from enjoying every second of all 8 seasons, because thank God, they didn't make a ninth.
Friends is and always will be my comfort show. Especially the first seasons were especially sharp, though it remained strong until the end. Scrubs is still amazing too, I'd need to rewatch HIMYM to see how I feel about it, but I do know that all of them have moments that have not aged well with our current values. For Scrubs what springs to mind is sexual objectification, for HIMYM it's transphobia, for Friends it's homophobia.
Frequent use of the t-slur, transphobic jokes ("Who's hot and who's Scott?"), and Ted in particular has a chronic fear that the women he's attracted to might secretly be trans - and while this is used to make jokes, it's not made fun of itself, showing the show considers it an understandable, if slightly paranoid, fear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4fX5CMvmnk
Maybe for some. I thought it was dumb. I thought choosing Tim to be a voice in Toy Story was a terrible idea but he was able to pull it off. I didn't need Buzz Lightyear making dumb grunty noises as answers to questions.

That couple had the most Cooperative Asshole Energy than any others I've seen in media. Which causes Perry to self destruct if he aims it at the wife.

Dr. Cox and Jordan actually ended up being loving parents in their own way. By far my favorite sitcom.

I don’t think his mother would be much help, she’s never known such a thing as “too much”

That would give us the upper limit, don't be sad if you get fewer balls per diem

I dunno, but I keep at least two on me at all times

The preacher's wife, at my wife's church, let it be known during Women's Conference, that her husband had 3. I mean why, why say that?

Scrubs has never gotten old for me. How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Home Improvement, they aren't as funny as they once were.
Scrubs, always remains my comfort sitcom.

Slightly disappointed no one brought up The Good Place as their comfort sitcom =(
TheDreadDruid
My first 3 years of having Netflix, my wife, and I basically just watched Scrubs on repeat. Which was crazy as we own all the DVDs.

'Malcolm in the Middle' is my comfort sitcom. Never gets old for me no matter how many times I watch it.

They really captured something beautiful in this show, with every character.
Shoumpue
The only reason I can't always watch that show is often times there isn't neat resolution, which is of course the point. Life is unfair

Parks and Rec also holds up really well. And, while it's not a sitcom, Psych does, too. And the amount of comedy usually offsets the drama.
DeviousWay
I went opposite with Psych. Egotistical white guy fast talking, lying, and gaslighting everyone he comes into contact with? Nopes.
Redhairedchap
Whole heartedly agree on both accounts. Hear hear.

He's involved with Shrinking too (exec producer I think?). Christa Miller is in it too and her character is hilarious.

New show on apple called Bad Monkey, I enjoyed it a lot. Not massively wholesome but nice warm characters.

I mainly liked the show for Al and Wilson.

The older I got, the more I understand how Al felt when he had to constantly put up with Tim's idiotic shenanigans.

Bobbobbobobbananafanafobob
I don't think so, Tim.

Yes, it was. Now, obviously, humor is subjective, but it was the most-watched show in America for most of the ’90s.
