Helping someone catch that perfect spot in the wave and not wipe out. Nice.

I wish I was this kid

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think that man is the dad now? I'm not 100% on the implications of this..

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thing is it is EXPENSIVE!! Private day costs $90.000 for a day (somewhere else it said $50k-$70k). And that is for 8-12 surfers. So around $5k for a day p/p.

I am so confused by this wave. I know it is a wave made by science, but I BELIEVE it is magic

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

This shows so many things that are great about humanity.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Is that Lt. Dan?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, this is a wave induced by the train on a floating bridge.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So what's with the handoff? Was that intentional?

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yes. He's not doing a kind deed per se, he's a trainer.

I'm sure that costs hundreds of dollars but man I would love to get a lesson like that.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Based on the above, 7-10k! Per person!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wow. I'm sure it's worth it but it's way out of my price range.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That man handled that extremely well. I learned the hard way that when you're taking a wave someone's already on, they get real annoyed and try to hit you and drown you.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not real surfing, no tourists to dodge /s

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You say /s but I don't think you really mean /s

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That probably is correct, but I didn’t want to shit on the kids effort, standing up is hard when you are just getting started.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd like to try that! Umm, I am 80, would that be as problem?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just sign these waivers...

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First you gotta see if you’re able to get from laying on your belly to standing on 2 feet in one smooth quick motion. if you can do that, then you’re set! my dad surfs daily at 73

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At least his fourth rodeo

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Can we see the drone footage?

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

And a new surfer.... is born.

2 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 0

Where is this? That wave is so consistent. I assume it’s because of the train?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the train is the wave maker at that location

@op you can add this to your description

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Person in the white hat was never seen again.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

They probably work with the trainer and brought the kid into position. They give it a push when the handoff happens, and their job is done.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trainer just sends in the next minion. /s Yeah, I figured it was an assistant who keeps the customer upright until the hand-off, but wasn't sure.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought itbwas another kid who just wiped out and was forgotten 😕

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As did I..... as did I.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine how fast Keanu would have learned to surf if that guy taught him instead of Lori Petty screaming at him for half the movie?

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

What if you're into Lori Petty screaming at you?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's all well and good, I'm no fetish shamer; but positive reinforcement and confidence building are proven to be superior for learning physical skills.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

He was a college quarterback and probably used to the screaming.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

“I’m your daddy now, kid.”

2 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Fuck that first guy, lol.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Oh thank god. I was never going to learn with my real dad.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The absolute control on a board is incredible

2 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

I didn't even notice it. Went back and watched his board. Damn impressive.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... all with just his knees directing the board to stay right in tune with someone waaaay less than his body weight. She's going to remember this day forever.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Master mode.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No kidding. Surfing is deceptively tricky. I wake boarded, snowboarders and wake surfed tons and was pretty competent but sucked ass at surfing when I tried.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I mean I’m sure he’s surfed his entire life, but man, there’s no shake, there’s no wobble, no correction of any kinda, the guy rides the board so smoothly it’s mesmerizing

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

It's a perfectly unchanging wave too. The benefit of a surf park.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He even controls his forward momentum against the changing wake while kneeling on it to stay low enough for the boy. I’d buy this man a drink just for the show

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Not a damn twitch. Dude...

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'd love to know where that surf park is. The idea of a perfect break every time is just beautiful and the engineering behind them is awesome

beautiful and Lemoore are not typically found in the same sentence.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Pretty sure this is the Kelly slater surf park in California, but there may be more than one of these.

2 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

The internet suggests you can go there for only $50-70k for a day. A cheap vacation! /s

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cheaper than skiing/snowboarding

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where tf you riding, K2? Olympus Mons?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I missed the 'k'....thought it was $50-70 a day

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, yeah, that's an important component. I'd spend a week there if it was $70/day a few times a year.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i didnt realize this was a park until way too late, i was thinking "jesus where do they have waves like this its like it was made by a machine!!" and it was actually lol

2 years ago | Likes 199 Dislikes 0

Only place I've seen a wave like that is on the west coast of South Africa, fucking amazing break. Only seen it on film though.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I thought that was the south coast of South Africa?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Endless Summer is a very good movie

Oh, america. Oh well

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is. It says "Surf Ranch" on the jet ski near the end.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It is. And that is Kelly Slater helping the kid.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I've heard alot of things about Lemoore but beautiful is not one of them

2 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Yeah it’s more like Satan’s Cheesy Armpit

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve smelled a lot of things about Lemoore but beautiful is not one of the either.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, if there are beholders there, I'm definitely not going!

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No, there are only eyes of beholders there. They can see you, but that's about all they can do
