this is the spartan way

I’m in this picture and I don’t like it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just imitated this and literally found crumbs.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Funny how Leonidas wouldn't accept ephialtes cause he couldn't stand in the shield wall but then half the movie is individual killing sprees

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

Spartans use shield wall to nullify the brunt of a charge, then push back with spears. Then break out to capitalise on enemy morale collapse

I'd pick watching this any day any time over 300 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7MYlRzLqD0&t=

PULLO! FORMATION! (Pullo continues trying to be a movie Spartan)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His hunger was stifling; it narrowed his vision, and he must see far. His belly was heavy; it threw him off balance, and the food was far.

Relatable, except it's from my kids eating cookies on my side of the bed

5 years ago | Likes 224 Dislikes 2

Your shield is the bed and your kids are the arrows?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At first I was like “I love how you say that like they get a side of the b-......you know what nevermind. I take it back”

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I don’t give my kid a side of the bed, but I DO get a monkey bouncing on my bed daily!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My favorite scene.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Now 2 hours

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How long before I get deleted?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

37 minutes and still strong

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Survive!!!!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Damn it now I want to watch 300, but only the first one!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eva green tho...

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

EVA GREEN THOUGH!

As someone who knows Mr. Wallace, you were not yawning like a lethargic bear; you were a lethargic bear yawning.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: a lot of quotes and deads in that movie are historically correct. Spartan women were held to a higher regard than most other

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, Herodotus wrote a lot of that stuff down. Whether it's accurate is another matter.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Countries, and spartans did use bodies in that wall for psychological warfare. One of my favorite things is a spartan king replying to a

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

letter from another king. The king asked the Spartans if they were to be either allies or subjugated. The Spartan king replied "neither"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The other king sent a letter saying "If we enter your country, we will end you all". The Spartan king replied with a letter saying "If"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The other king decided to not attack...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wasn't that because Sparta didn't have enough valuable stuff/land to be worth conquering?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And like 300, the only way I’m going to have a six pack like that is with cgi

5 years ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 8

Sir you have completely forgotten the existence of airbrushing.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually its airbrushed abs

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh no those are real. Their workout regimen for that movie was insane.

5 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 1

Technically yes, however they did touch them up with cgi to make them more defined

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Make up, they used make up, BUT the whole movie has post-production treatment to have that sharp contrast and kinda bronze look to it

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

And practical makeup effects as well.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Just imagine having to work out everyday for 8 hours just for them to CGI it all out.

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

My moustache!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imagine putting yourself through extreme diets and cosmetic surgery for them to airbrush you anyway. Our aesthetic senses are spoiled.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

They wanted them to look like ancient Greek statues

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ancient Greek statues are part of the problem. The obsession over symmetry and idealized proportions. The ideal of beauty distracts from 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

beauty that actually exists. Senses over imaginations, reality over ideas.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The crumbs go flying. Hardcut to a close-up of inside a house walls, where a scouting ant suddenly turns its head. Ominous music drop.

Did you make that GIF before the comment and needed a segue to use it? Because it seems like..etc.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, I googled it. I think you're projecting something. What exactly, I wouldn't know, but please give that some thought. :p

Top 50 movies ever made.

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 12

I love me some 300, but no.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

I would consider it in the Top 50 "visually amazing" movies. Same with Sucker Punch. Not the best movies but the visuals are amazing

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

5 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 5

Well yes but no but actually yes i gotta admit. Cant name 50 movies so i'll let this one pass.

5 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

I always thought it was too "hero worship". It was like the Mission Impossible movies.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 13

Ok I get why I'm being downvoted, but am I the only one who thinks that having invincible superkillers as protagonists is kinda patronizing?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They pretty explicitly weren't invincible though. Like... they kinda all died.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was kindof about heroes

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well it was point, show their heroic stand

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Yea but couldn't they have like....changed the story a bit....maybe they could've talked the Persians into a dance battle or something?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

If you wanted song and dance you should've go to the Athenians

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Off the hook reference, always upvote meet the spartans

He does, but sometimes he sucks less

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I don't think he sucks so much as sold out. Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead Remake & 300 were all amazing. Later stuff... not so much.

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Totally agree

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

MoS was great, BvS seems... meddled with.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There was a scene involving a jar of pee. I think Snyder had a decent say.
