I like both bechamel and ricotta in lasagna. Sometimes when I've got time I do both. The bechamel is nice to make the whole thing creamier and more decadent. And the ricotta because I love a layer of ricotta and spinach since that's how my mom made it growing up
nekosupernova
My mom made lasagna with ricotta and spinach too (not bechamel, that's too fancy). It was the only way to get us to eat spinach.
RocketKokket
Lol bechamel is just flour butter and milk. Cheaper than ricotta. Arguably less fancy. Both are great tho. And yeah that's same for my mom. To get us to eat vegetables hahas

#17 I want to know what that is but I don't want to Google it.

WTF Pittsburgh?! You guys ok?
ThatEyeGuy
Betos pizza. I never understood it
MorallyCasual
I mean in a way we are ok, but in another, genetic, way, we are mutants. But we haveots of styles of pizzas.
DM777
That is called Ohio Style pizza and it is actually good if you get it within the first 5min out of the oven.
After that, it’s hell.
M4UsedRollout
Been here my whole life And never seen anyone eat a pizza like that.

Ah Pittsburgh, the city of bridges. The bridges are in such poor shape that they have chunks falling off onto the other bridges underneath. Luckily, the government has seen fit to act! They've set up nets under the bridges so the chunks don't damage any cars. The place fucking sucks, and the rest of Pennsylvania is no better. If you live there, I'm sorry.
DrRad
Have you been to Pittsburg? No. No one is ok in Pittsburg.

Honestly, I have multiple chef friends, my wife and I are very good cooks, but Stouffers or the Costco lasagna are solid B and I've had the A+.
NappaTheFriendlyGhost
The local sams club makes a deadly good jumbalaya. Add a bit of pepper onto it and it’s better than just about anywhere else.
TheArrestingAbhorrentArrantAbominableAlliterator
Honest to god, Rao's frozen lasagna cooked to directions, removed, placed on a sheet pan with extra sauce over then topped with fresh grated cheese (usually mix of Moz and Parm Reg), convection at 425 until top browned and bubbly is actually better than 95% of restaurants I've ever had. And I was basically Garfield from 11 to 30.
westPAguy
What the actual fuck Altoona?
Noodlesocks
It's no pizza but I wouldn't say no to eating it. I'm sure it will be adequate.
PleasantPeasantPheasant
Eh, My mom couldn't cook for shit so I've had worse, struggle meal pizza looks okay in comparison. Not healthy but taste and texture will be consistent at least. Toddlers will eat it.

Man that was LIFE on Tostinos back in the day when I was really, really broke. Still broke so theres that.
M4UsedRollout
This is probably a lie, just like #24.

I thought so also but I know a couple of guys from Altoona. It's not common but they have seen it.

OK so I talked to a friend who lived out near Altoona for a few years. He had never heard of it but it’s got a Wikipedia page
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altoona-style_pizza
Evidently it was invented by the Altoona Hotel. Which has since burned down.
CatHateDogDogLoveCat
It burned down? Good!

I’ll also be telling myself this in order to sleep tonight
