I saw one one time! I was driving at night down a dirt road in Big Bend, and I got a good glimpse before it bolted. It was more dark brown than the ones pictured here, nearly black, but its coat was very shiny. It ran faster than any animal I think I've ever seen.

I saw one in Rio, all black, being kept as a pet. I had never heard of them and got it ID'd by a zoologist. When you see them moving they look like a mini cougar
