In The Netherlands the weather alert today was code red. No trains in the whole country, it sucked.
AideenSK
Same in Germany. Had several people die even because of the storm.
NRubric
Yeah... it took me 3 hours to get home from work... shit was real!
Bufito11
All I can think of seeing these: “Dejavu. I just been in this place before...”

vulgarian
Dat bus tho
Munnin41
Thats what you get when that is the only way to get students from the train station to campus. Its a bus in one of our major cities, Utrecht
SuperTacticalSandwich
That's a train with tires
LuckyMucky
Right? Nice one.
schlummi
Not that uncommon in bigger cities.
celebratorygunfire
Check out that double-articulated bus in the first one!
Munnin41
Thats what you get when that is the only way to get students from the train station to campus. Its a bus in one of our major cities, Utrecht
absoliutenus
#1 would have been a lot worse if the person was inside
RancidOrange
#1 Is that one of those new driverless cars?
BAzV
3 people died today as a result of the wind.
Munnin41
Shouldve stayed inside like literally everyone advised
OptionalToaster
That second one, wind be like "and f*** these people in particular"
Munnin41
Its pretty normal there. Its a giant open square, so you regularly get blown away (though not as literally)
OptionalToaster
Live in South East England. Everything here is just so....mild. The wind doesn't tend to attack with such vigour.
Munnin41
I think it was send by the ocean. She's probably mad about the dikes and polders
jaaaassephhhh
How does the wind knock over some people while other people are totally fine?
Desloratadine
I have no idea how but i can asure you its not fake, i live in the Netherlands and this stuff has been all over the news
schlummi
Different body size/shape, maybe more wind catching clothes + bad balancing of the person. Or in a worse protected spot by buildings.
zethlington
I was completely distracted by the long bus in #1 that I didn’t even realise this was a gallery. Geez, that bus is long
MrSnowy
Holy shit i didnt notice that
Munnin41

Porter potty? Surely you meant porta potty right? People don't actually call them that right?
HelloSer
Most likely auto correct
OddIsHe
Anonawesome
Let us pray to god that it was.
AnUnhingedFerrisWheelRollingTowardTheSea
fun fact i actually thought it was porter potty for the longest time and was suuuper embarrassed when i found out it wasn't
Anonawesome
I can see how only hearing it might make you think so. I think we all take the internet for granite in having such information. Heh.
OliverClothesoff70
Serious question: does this fall under the category of Climate Change? Have winds like this EVER been recorded in Holland?
zerkalot
Last one was actually last week... It's our storm season now... Have these every few yaers.
MeRoyMinoy
Yeah, last one was in 2013, before that 2007. Although some parts of the country got gusts up to speeds not seen since 1944.
OliverClothesoff70
OK, thank you. I was really curious if this was something not seen there before.
Oblivion59
If you add more energy (heat) to a system (the Earth) every thing in that system has more energy, more violent energetic everything!
Lemodile
It's the 6th heaviest storm since we've begun measuring them properly. Which I believe started early 1900s. It is very rare but not unique.
Munnin41
According to the weather guy on the news, this was the 13th storm like this this century, but the 3rd one in the last 5 months
MeRoyMinoy
Yeah in storms there's been a couple, but this was the only one that measured 11 on the Beaufort scale since 2013.
Munnin41
True i guess.
