Back in the day, you had to manually dial a phone number when you wanted to remotely talk to someone. Certain phones had a limited number of memory where you could store numbers so you personally only had to hit one button and the phone would automatically dial the full number stored for that particular digit.

Batman was originally seeing a black and white Zorro movie with his parents, every few decades the timeline gets a soft reboot so the movie that Bruce was seeing gets updated as well. Last time the Internet checked in on the subject, Bruce being in his early thirties put him in the theater at age ten to see a movie with his folks in 2001. The big movie that year was Shrek, unless he was an outlier and wanted to see The Fellowship of the Ring or Spy Kids instead.
